love love love when someone who’s a bit pale is like, visibly sick. Their nose is flushed a deep pink, the inner corners of their eyes are red. Lips are darker than usual. There’s just such a contrast between their usual skin tone and their sick flush that’s sooo attractive

Thought for the day

A is annoyed at B for being in the shower for ages and using all the hot water. Unbeknownst to them, B has come down with something, and the shower was the only thing relieving their congestion. Not to mention comforting and warm against their achy body.

A goes to confront them, but their whole demeanor softens when they find B perched on the edge of the bed, towel pulled tightly around them. Still naked and damp, shivering, and sneezing pathetically.

Aw dude thinking so much about a group of friends throwing a birthday party for character A who just happened to come down with a cold but is insistent that they not postpone. House party vibe with music and low lights and maybe a theme!! And character A is really into it, they’re kind of sleepy and overstimulated but happy to be celebrating. (The classic buzzed out but sniffly vibe is just peak) every so often they’d sequester themsleves to a corner or balcony or yard or bathroom to sneeze or blow their nose in private but it’s rare that one of their guests isn’t close by at any given moment.

And part way through the night someone asks where character A is and they find them having a nap on the couch, whatever decorative elements bestowed upon them kinda lopsided as they’ve been napping. They’re woken up and brought over to cut the cake and such. A close friend or partner makes a comment that they’re running a bit warm and look a little frazzled so maybe it’s time to wrap things up for the evening

Overly indulgent Law dump 😈

Okay okay I can explain!! A few different people wanted Law stuff and I got a little excited, so here's an assortment of misery.

1. Dude absolutely snzes in multiples and usually covers properly. Prone to fits when he's worn out/sick. His crew loves to tease him about it but they really care for him.

2. No excuse for this one... Feverish. Chest out. Tattoos showing. Yes.

3. As you can see I'm a little obsessed with the Hea//rt Pira/tes being sweet to their grumpy captain, so naturally Be/po showed up with a cup of tea. I just wanted to draw him :)

Sorry for the questionable fashion choices. Anyways I spent an embarrasingly long number of hours on these so I hope you enjoy!

Seeing people use toilet paper as tissues out and about always opens up so many questions.

Are they sick? Did they underestimate how many tissues they would go through and so they hastily shoved some toilet paper into their pocket or bag? Did they simply not expect their cold to be this bad and so they didn’t bring any tissues to begin with?

Is it allergies? Were they suddenly hit by their allergen and found themself without any tissues and so they had to use the next best thing?

Makes you think they ducked into a bathroom and blew and blew all they could and still decided that they needed to load up their pockets with those thin squares as their nose continued its snotty assault.

You can see them poking out of over stuffed pockets. Maybe it’s a crumpled bunch. Maybe it’s a whole long ribbon that shows you that they anticipated how much they’d be sniffling and sneezing.

Hopefully they’re able to find some real tissues soon, their nose is getting redder and raw by the minute and their last resort ‘tissue’ theft is already running low…

Can I get a character who is miserably sick and a caretaker who doesn’t mind the mess with a side of the roles reversing when the caretaker falls ill?

12 things caretaker notices before whumpee does that tells them they're about to have a chronic injury/illness flare:

1. moving slowly and carefully, like they're babying chronically injured joints/muscles without realizing it

2. eating less or having to be reminded to eat because they don't feel hungry

3. massaging their temples to combat a background headache they're not even aware they're tuning out 

4. standing up strangely or slowly from sitting because they're hurting or dizzy

5. a slight difference in their gait to avoid putting pressure on something

6. going to bed earlier and waking up later

7. waking up a lot during the night or waking up and not being able to go back to sleep

8. tossing and turning a lot in their sleep

9. falling asleep in the middle of the day when they have quiet moments to sit down

10. talking less or more, either withdrawing or over-engaging to distract themself 

11. pallor to their skin, flush to their cheeks, dark circles under their eyes

12. being less coordinated when they move or use their fine motor skills

These characters who are powerful, whether in status, strength, wealth or rank, are almost unbeatable, respected and admired, and even their partners think they are great.

But they are overcome by a cold/allergies/fever.

I love the weakness and vulnerability in these kinds of characters hahaha

From being a respected and fearsome being to a ball of sneezes, blankets and tissues
