Despite the feeling of being completely ready to drift back off to sleep settling into Kazās veins, he wanted to wake up and curl up against Cole, to kiss him until he was properly awake and then spend his day with him. The fact that it was Valentineās day was something that he knew was important in tradition, but he wasnāt really focused on it other than the knowledge that it meant it was another day he got to spend with his husband. āIt does,ā he whispered to Cole at the feeling of hands on his shoulders, missing the kisses that Cole had been treating him with before heād pulled away. He loved waking up like this, when they had the chance to share lazy days together and just be. Too often Cole was running off to work and Kaz was taking care of Essie and his coursework to actually manage to spend time together, so now was the perfect opportunity. He had the chance to justĀ be with Cole and that was what mattered to him. āYou donāt have to do that,ā Kaz said when Cole insisted that he was off to make breakfast, and Kaz reached out to try and stop him, sighing a bit when he slipped away. A soft smile graced his lips as he watched Cole leave, one that lingered on Kazās lips as he slowly crawled out of bed and stretched his tired limbs. Had he not heard that Cole had already gotten Essie and taken her along, he would have picked up their daughter on his journey to the kitchen, but the few minutes of peace gave Kaz an opportunity to freshen up slightly and get dressed before he followed along. He slipped into a pair of jeans and one of Coleās hoodies before he made his way to the kitchen. āBuenos dĆas, mi princesa,ā Kaz mumbled as he scooped Estrella into his arms, kissing the girlās cheek as she giggled and clung to him. He smiled quietly, playing with their daughter for another minute before he set her down in her high chair and stepped over to Cole, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. āThank you,ā he told his husband. āYou donāt have to cook breakfast if you donāt want to though. I can take care of it.ā
"Here, Es," Cole handed Estrella a small chocolate chip from the pancake mix from her seat on the floor before he went back to stirring up the mix. Cole had wished that they could spend every morning like this, he could wait for Kaz to come down and get breakfast cooked for him like he deserved. Kaz deserved so many things that Cole wasn't able to give to him, but one thing he could do was just be himself and love him for all of eternity like he had planned on doing. Flipping the eggs around, Cole knew Kaz liked scrambled even though he liked sunny-side up, but it was what his husband wanted his morning. Estrella scoot herself around on the floor, holding onto this as she would stand up and walk around Cole briefly before falling and planting herself on the tile floor. "Watch out, babe," He told her, petting her with his foot before turning back to the mix, and pouring some on a skillet. Hearing Kaz's voice made Cole blush deep, not turning around to see him, but hearing his voice coo to Estrella. Cole turned his head and felt the warm hands on his hips, and he gasped almost silently before beaming. and flipping around the pancake. "I'm going to cook breakfast for you because I love you and I don't get to do it often." Cole hips moved back to push gently on Kaz's own. He turned his head to the boys lips, kissing the side of his mouth gently and turning back to what he was doing. "Anything special you want to do today? I just thought we'd go to the Santa Monica pier and walk around with Essie. Then later, we could be alone." Cole turned his head to look at Kaz, pushing his hips back a little more to put pressure as he flipped the pancake on a plate, and dumped the eggs as well. "Your breakfast, sir."
