Avery was wanted by many, that was obvious; ecspecially when one factored in her place of work. It was almost like her job was to entice people. Entice them into dancing, but the act of enticing them nonetheless. The dancers would then get thirsty and thus buy drinks which gave the club revenue. Avery would get paid and that completed the cycle. She knew how to entice people, wether it be a wink or a flip of her skirt or a bite of her lip; she had her own tricks that she’d use them with the finesse of a well-season poker player. She knew her choices might be looked down upon by someone else, but this was her life to live and she was doing the best she could with what she had. Some could even argue that Avery wasn’t even living up to her full potentional. With her abilities, she could do so much more than she was doing now; and she knew that somewhere deep down. She swallowed hard, trying to clear her mind as Collin pressed a kiss to the back of her head. She smiled lightly. Nobody wanted her like Collin wanted her. Atleast, not to her knowledge and, even if she knew, she’d still want Collin back. He was something special. He was someone to hold onto. “Okay, I’ll be out in half a second,” She responded and watched him leave through the same way that he had entered. She had let her ice cold heart thaw for him.
Once alone again, Avery took the few steps needed to be over by her dress and began to slip off her silk robe to expose her lingerie and her skin that peeked through once more. She let the silk fabric pool onto her bed, slipping off her sylph limbs, and decided to pick up the dress and slipped it over her head; making sure not to dishevel her hair. Avery was never afraid to show skin when it came to apparel. She figured if she had something to put on display she might as well do it. After all, she was used to having eyes on her almost all of the time. She was fine with it as long as one of those pair of eyes belonged to Collin.
After looking at herself in the mirror one final time, she left her apartment and returned to Collin’s side; where he was outside checking on the reservation like he had said. A bubbling nervousness was present and Avery’s chest and it was very unfamiliar to her. She wasn’t the type of girl to go on dates. Well, dates but not dinners like Collin had somehow gotten her to agree to go. She bites down at every instinct she has telling her to run and asked, upon seeing her man, “Is everything set reservation-wise?” With a smile smile she reached out and straightened and smoothed out his suit even though it was meticulously perfect. She just wanted a reason to be close to him. “I know I already said it, but you look unbelievably handsome tonight. You clean up very well, Tevian. Who would have known?,” She joked with him, before pushing her hair over her shoulder. “–Who’s driving?” She asked “Or are we using your driver? I’m sure the place is still going to be a surprise until we get there, hm?”
“I’ll be waiting.” He stepped out into the hallway and exhaled a content sigh. There was a huge part of him that was surprised she had agreed to go out with him-- no matter how much eh might have wanted to have a proper date, there was no way he’d ever consider pushing her. If Avery didn’t want to do something it was fine with him and there were plenty of other less coupley things that they could do to waste time. However, the thing was, he really sort of wanted to do the sort of mushy things that some other people did. He knew it was the most out of character thing in the world, but who cared? Avery made him want things that he had never really want before and that meant something, right? Nobody else had ever made him want to be something other than a hot fuck before. Collin had actually gone to see her at work a few times -- no text or anything, just because he wanted to look at her face while she did something that she enjoyed. It was sickly sweet and it wasn’t hard to imagine the cavities forming in his mouth. What had happened to the youngest Tevian brother over the past few months and why hadn’t it happened to him sooner? Why hadn’t someone like her happened to someone like him sooner than this? He probably wouldn’t have been ready earlier on in his life. She was right on time.
Collin pulled his phone out of his pocket and sent a text to their future waiter, making sure that the table was ready. A text back was all he needed before he put his phone away and began pressing out any wrinkles he found in his suit. The sight of Avery stepping out of the door fully dressed was enough to make him stop in place. She looked gorgeous-- she always did, but he couldn’t remember seeing her dressed in such a way before. Their usual attire was next to nothing or casual clothes for going out to grab take out or for Collin to go meet his dealer. It was never anything this high class and he was at a complete loss for words. Maybe they shouldn’t go out... Maybe they should have just stayed in and undressed it each. “Everything is great. Our table will be ready for us when we get there.”
He drinks her in for a few quiet moments. “You look amazing.” A chuckle escapes him at her question. “I try not ti disappoint.” Collin flashed her a smile, all teeth, before shifting to grab the flowers that he left on the table when he first entered. The dark crimson roses matched her lipstick and the mutant felt very pleased with himself. “These are for you and I’ll be driving. I want tonight to be special.” He extended his arm out for her to take before walking out of the door to her home. Once she locked it, he reconnected their arms and escorted her to the car before opening the door. “Your chariot awaits orrrr something close to that?”
