#IâM SO CONCERNED#THIS IS SUCH A WORRYING SERIES OF NOISES
Iâve told a million lies but now I tell a single truth; thereâs you in everything I do.
Unbound || Odette & Colton
Her eyes narrowed as he chuckled at her joke that wasnât really a joke. She wondered how long it would take for her to snap his neck. Most werewolves werenât a problem â but then again, he didnât seem like most werewolves. At least, not any of the ones back up north. The ones around here, on the other hand⊠He was big; rugged; a bit rough looking â like a street dog protecting his alleyway.Â
Then again, she had found him passed out drunk in a cemetery. Odette sighed, pushing herself up off the tombstone she had been leaning against, slowly maneuvering her way closer to him, around the graves yet keeping her distance all the same. Their eyes were locked on each other; watching and maybe waiting for one or the other to make a move. Size each other up. Normally, Odette would have already had him for a snack and left him to rot beside a tree. Around here, it wasnât gonna be that easy. And, okay, maybe she was a bit curious. Odetteâs lips quirked at the corner as she folded her arms across her chest. âFunny,â she commented â which was probably the closest thing he or anyone was ever gonna get out of her in terms of humor. âFortunately for you, I just ate. Thanks for your concern, though.â She didnât sound sarcastic but she totally was. âYou donât actually live here, do you?â she narrowed her eyes further. âItâs okay if you do,â she smirked. It made her job just that much easier.Â
Colton stood his ground, his blue eyes never leaving the vampire as she slowly made her way towards him and stopping just a few feet before getting too close. It was probably best that they kept their distance from each otherâŠfor now. Hot as she may be, Colt didnât trust her. Not because she was a vampire, he wasnât as bothered by that as most wolves should be, more so the fact that they were meeting in a cemetery and the woman has probably just killed a man.
Hot, sense of humor, possible murder? Yeah, Colton was slightly enamored already.
The fact that she could probably snap his neck within the blink of an eye didnât seem to help the case either; though Colt was sure heâd be able to put up a good fight for a couple of seconds.
"Thatâs a relief," he replied, his voice sounding unphased by her comment, "here I thought you were planning on indulging in me for a late night snack. Or early breakfast depending on how time works for you. But I mean I probably wouldnât taste too good anyway." His blood was probably made up of whisky at this point. The slight grin on Coltons face further proved that he wasnât too bothered by the current topic of conversationâŠeven though he really should have been. She looked, in short, dangerous. There was a certain something in the vampires eyes, her stance, and even the way she spoke that managed to really capture the werewolves attention. Yes, she was stunning but it was more than that.
He had to figure out just what it was. So he decided to continue to humor her.
However, her next question managed to stop his train of thought. âDo I live here? No-no I justâŠI went out with my cousin Abel and things just- why would I live here?â he asked, as if the question had been offensive. Truthfully, Colton spent a good amount of time in this cemeteryâŠwhich probably made a lot of sense considering who he was. âWait, do you live here? I mean I thought vampires squatting in cemetery was just a bunch of shit. My cousins a fanger and he still lives at his old place. But heâs kind of a special case,â he added, making a face at the thought of his cousinâŠand really all of his relatives.
Belfronts were a special case in a general.
Odette honestly couldnât quite put a finger on why she was still here. It had taken approximately 2 and a half minutes for her to lead the unsuspecting teenager to the cemetery and stick her fangs in his neck. She was approaching the five minute mark with this werewolf, of all species, and she hadnât bared her fangs once. She hated this place. And honestly, she was starting to hate herself a bit for sticking around. âSome vampires can stomach dog. Unfortunately, itâs not really my caviar,â she found herself smirking despite the fact that her attempts at intimidation were, literally, for the dogs. She couldnât believe the stupid grin on his face â was she really losing her touch? Odette rose a brow as he continued on, biting down upon her lower lip as she attempted to keep her smirk from widening. She looked around the empty cemetery for a moment, almost incredulously before she put a hand on her hip and shook her head. âI did just see you sleeping here, I think my question was pretty valid,â she pointed out, monotonously as though he were a child. Not to mention he had that whole rugged, outdoorsy look to him⊠If she looked closely, there may or may not have been a dried leaf in his hair. But then he turned her question back on her, and it was all she could do to keep herself from laughing outright. So she ignored it. "Your cousin is a vampire?" she took another step closer, her curiousity getting the best of her as she narrowed her gaze at him once more. "Youâre a wolf⊠and your cousin is a vampire?" she asked, as though he had started to grow another head. This town was getting stranger by the minute.Â
"Seriously? You guys feed on werewolves?" He was putting way too much thought into this. Clearly the stuff Abel had given him last night, or two days because who knows how long he'd been here, was still in his system. For being the self proclaimed brains of the group Colton was feeling a little off his game. Thankfully, the vampire didn't seem to be losing patience as quickly as he assumed she would.
Yeah, Colton really liked this one.
He blinked, his blue eyes yet to leave her gaze. Colton was pretty sure she would probably attack the second he looked away, which again, wasn't a bad way to go. But honestly she was just so damn pretty too. He opened his mouth to respond but stopped himself last minute. "Never mind. No, I don't live here," he finally clarified, running a hand through his hair and finding a leaf in it before flicking it aside. He probably looked at great as he felt which was for once a serious bummer. "Not yet anyway." He grinned.
Colton had had a feeling she wouldn't have given him a serious answer. Most vampires he had met had apparently sworn some code to be as vague and mysterious as possible when asked about their former lives or how they had ended up a fanger. "Yeah, he's a vampire. I mean he was the only one of us that was born human up until he went off to war and got himself killed," he explained rather casually, while dusting the dirt of his jeans. "It's actually pretty funny now considering - not that death is funny or anything, given that you're...you know."
At this point Colton was pretty sure he was talking his way to his impending death.
"So I didn't get your name," he pointed out now, in attempt to ease the conversation once more. He at least deserved to know the name of his newest confide/potential killer. It was common courtesy.Â

Scumbag Blues || Abel & Colton
Colton practically ran out the door as soon as his shift at the garage was over. Business had been ridiculously slow and on top of that the eldest Belfront was slightly hungover. Therefore, the only way to end an uneventful day was by doing something eventful. With the boys spending some much needed time with Blair, Colton found himself heading down the familiar route on his harley. On days like this, and really any day, there was really only one person Colt wanted to spend some time with.
After parking his bike in the driveway, Colton let himself into Abelâs house. It was a known fact that the Belfronts lacked common courtesy and had a tendency to completely ignore doorbells. âHoney, Iâm home!â he called, making his way into the living room where he found Abel sitting peacefully on the couch, beer bottle in hand. Plopping down on the couch next to his cousin, Colton reached over and took the beer from Abel before bringing it to his lips and taking a drink from it. Abel did always buy the best beer.
"Tell me you donât have any plans tonight," he began, handing the beer back to the other wolf. "Work was shit. Blair has the boys and I donât feel like bailing Claire out of jail tonight." The rest was pretty self explanatory. Tonight, Abel and Colton were going to fuck shit up. Again.
Abel was high as fuck; as if that were anything new. It would be more astonishing to people nowadays if he were sober. Abel was just lucky he had a job where he didnât have to go in and sit at a desk; or really even interact with anyone. Being a song writer meant he got to sit at home and be high and drink beer as long as he got the right amount of good songs sent in by the end of the week.
Today had been a rather productive day, despite the fact that he was high as a kite. Heâd finished one song and was half way through another when he heard the rumbling of Coltonâs bike in the driveway. Now would have been the time were Abel tried to comb his fingers through his hair and look somewhat presentable for his brothercousinboyfriend; but he was just a little too high for that. The beer certainly wasnât helping the situation either.
And then Colton dropped down beside Abel and swiped the beer from his hand. Abel blinked a few times as Colton spoke and then grinned at his own private joke before chuckling out, âYou got in here real fast.â When Colton placed the beer back in his hand, he took another swig from the bottle before sitting up and placing down the pen that had been in his other hand atop the papers heâd been scribbling lyrics onto. âSo, what are we gonna do? Start a bar brawl, set somethinâ on fire? Thatâs more Roryâs card, but that doesnât mean we canât do it, too.â
Colton grinned. "I was just so eaged to see you," he joked, watching as Abel took the beer back. He may have said it jokingly but deep down Colt meant it. He was usually excited to spend some quality time with his cousin. Truthfully, Abel felt more like his best friend than anything...one might even say brother. Hell, they looked like it and damn near acted like it half the time. Where Colton was hot headed and aggressive, Abel was usually high enough to be the voice of reason. The happened to make a rather great team.
He leaned forward slightly in order to get a better look at Abel directly; yeah, the guy was gone. "Shit, you started earlier today didn't you?" he asked, ruffling the other mans hair slightly before leaning back against the couch. Colt never had an issue with Abel's "life style" choices so long as the kid wasn't doing V or anything really dangerous. As if the eldest Belfront had any room to tell others how to live their life anyway.
"Twin Moon?" he suggested, his eyes now on the television as he attempted to think of something exciting and hopefully legal...but the night was young, things could happen. "But we'll probably end up running into Toby or Claire, in which case we're back to square one of me not wanting to bail anyone out tonight." Seriously, why was he deemed the responsible one in the group? Was it because he was the oldest or the fact that he had two children? Because honestly neither of those two traits were enough to label Colton Belfront as responsible.
Letting out a sigh, Coltons attention fell to the countless sheets of paper spread out on the coffee table. "You can actually manage to wright shit while you're high?" he asked rather impressed while looking at his cousin in awe.
"And donât talk with your mouth full!"
All I Want || Henley & Colton
The smirk on Coltons face remained knowing for a fact that he was pushing Henleyâs buttons. Of course she could kick his ass if she wanted too; hell, there was a definite chance that Colton would willingly let it happen. Not so much for her pride but the simple fact that Colton was, in short, wrapped around Henley Hansonâs fingers. As if he would ever do anything to cause any form of harm to her. Despite the fact that she was supernatural being, therefore stronger than most by default, Henley was stillâŠdifferent. Accidentally breaking one of Toby or Jacksons bones while wrestling was different than breaking Henleys. Colton would actually feel bad about itâŠeven if wrestling with Henley sounded a lot more fun.
Naturally heâd been expecting an answer like that and- wait. Did she just call this a date? Were he and Henley on a date? The question had made itâs way into Coltons mind a couple of times tonight but heâd never actually settled on a guaranteed answer. Theyâd gone out to drink before, theyâd even had dinner alone so why was this any different? Maybe it was because the pair had made an effort to get dressed for once? Along with actually dining out at a restaurant (not bar) rather than sitting at home eating take out Chinese. Before Colton could respond Henley turned and headed towards a table. He finished up the last of his drink before turning to look over at her. He caught her taking a seat at a table and-damn, she looked gorgeous.
Holy shit. Colton Belfront was on a date with Henley Hanson.
A chuckle escaped Coltonâs lips as he took a seat across from her. âYou on your best behavior? Shouldnât I be the one making that sort of promise?â he half joked, a playful smile making its way onto his face now. âThis place looks like theyâd have an alcohol limit,â he muttered, glancing around them at the elegance of the restaurant before looking back at Henley. âSo if all else fails, weâll head to Twin Moon for a second coarse.â It was evident that they were both a little out of their element in a place like thisâŠbut here they were. Colton found himself wondering if heâd be willing to do this sort of thing for anyone else.
Deep down he knew the answer.
Colton was silent for a moment, a slightly pensive look on his face now. âCan I ask you something?â He waited for Henley to nod, even if she noticed the slight change in his tone now. âWhat you said back at that barâŠdo you think this is a date?â
Henley was sure - there for about ten whole seconds - that she was going to combust from Coltonâs eyes on her. Why, she wasnât particularly sure. Maybe because she had been pretty down for Colton from the first time she laid eyes on him - yes, even in that stage of life where boys had cooties. Maybe because she could see in the way that he looked at her that heâd realized what she had been feeling: that she looked damn good. And that was a strange sensation. Because sheâd always been sure that Colton just viewed her as the cool blonde chick who beat up his cousins and was excellent with his kids.
But then he sat down and she got a reprieve for a second, laughing a bit at his joke about the drinking limit. If there was one, theyâd be the two to find it. But then that feeling of impending combustion settled back down into her gut as his eyes caught hers and the tone in his voice showed that whatever he was about to ask required her every attention. She did her best to focus on his words and not the flame in her stomach.
Shit.
"Uh," Henley gulped, feeling her throat close up a little. This was like being around Odette all over again. That fear of anything more than friendship was showing up again - and this time sheâd brought it on herself. Of course he doesnât think this is a date idiot, itâs just you. She pressed her lips together and shook her head, âIâm sorry, I shouldnât have said that, I-â She wished she could just sink into the floor and disappear. She knew her face must have been fifty shades of red.Â
She raised her hand and combed it through her blonde curls, which settled back perfectly around one shoulder. âIt was presumptuous of me,â she finally finished, her blue eyes turning up to his again, âAfter all, you have girls falling all over themselves to get at you; and Iâm just. Me.â She laughed, but the sound died in her throat. She was just digging herself deeper into a hole now, âAnd Iâm going to shut up before I make this situation any worse than it already is.â
Colton couldn't help but regret the question as soon as it left his lips. He knew he shouldn't have asked, it had clearly been a bad idea, but of course he had done so anyway. Henley's reaction only further confirmed that it had been a bad idea. Goddammit. Why did he have to ask? When it came down to it, did it really make a difference if this was or wasn't a date? They were friends, they did this dinner and drinks routine often...what made this any different?
Again, deep down Colton knew the answer.
From the very beginning this hadn't felt like just another dinner between friends. Not when they were dining in some new and expensive restaurant where Colton probably couldn't pronounce half the things on the menu. Or when he was dressed up for once and Henley happened to look even more like a goddess than she usually did. And he would probably deny it to the end but Colton couldn't remember the last time he had been this nervous.
By a standard definition this would definitely be considered a date. Colton was just afraid of what it would actually mean for them.
And then he got an answer, Henleys answer.
He was silent for a moment clearly taken back by her words. Colton was momentarily relieved by this realization, the faintest of smiles forming on his lips upon seeing the blush on Henleys cheeks now. She considered this a date. Sort of. "Presumptuous?" he repeated, the smile quickly fading from his face. No. No, this was the last thing Colton wanted to happen. "So do you think this is just another day in the life of Colton Belfront?" he asked, his blue eyes full of curiosity as he continued to look at her. "I know this might be hard to believe, Henley, but I don't do this sort of thing often," he added, a small but genuine smile on his lips in attempt to ease the conversation.
Colton couldn't really wrap his head around her words. Henley was...well, Henley. To him it was pretty self explanatory but clearly not in the same way that it was to the women sitting across from him. Did she really not know how amazing she was? Or that he should be the considering himself the lucky one right now?
Because he sure as hell was.
"I should be the one," he began again, momentarily taking his eyes of Henley in attempt to pick out his words properly, "because you're just - do you not realize how seriously amazing you are?"

Unbound || Odette & Colton
Odette licked the blood dripping from the corner of her mouth as she walked away from the very stunned, very glamoured young human she had been feeding from. She had found him wandering about just outside the cemetery, wearing all black, smoking, probably writing dark poetry in his head⊠In fact, she probably didnât even need to glamour him in the first place. He seemed like the type who would have wanted to be fed from; probably would have begged her to turn him, even.
But Odette wasnât about to mother anymore young, immature types. The very first and last progeny she had had seemed to have a knack for being a glorified fuck-up. Honestly â it would be just her luck to have her one and only progeny be beheaded by one from the very group of supernaturals she sought to destroy. Fucking Toby Belfront. These wolves didnât seem very smart, but there were a lot of them. In fact, there had been one right under her nose. Call it hunger pains from not having fed in a few days, or maybe just call it a stroke of bad luck, but she heard the rustle of movement and the husky voice from behind a tombstone before she spotted a mess of blonde poking up as the wolf spoke. Odette let out a long, soft growl. There really were too many werewolves around here. She would have to plan accordingly. This was gonna take a lot longer than she had originally planned. "Donât worry," she drawled softly, folding her arms across her chest as she leaned against an older tombstone just a few rows behind the one where he had taken refuge. Honestly, what sort of wolves was she dealing with, here? Who slept in cemeteries? Not even the undead pulled that kind of shit. "Iâm not buried here." She wasnât buried anywhere, unfortunately â that wolf pack had made sure of that. Odetteâs eyes narrowed as she watched him stand up, wondering if it would have been easy to just snap his neck while he was still drowsy from sleep and whatever else he had been sleeping off. But he was big, and maybe Odette was just a bit too curious for her own good. "You know, youâll have plenty of time for sleeping in cemeteries when youâre dead," she pointed out, almost hopeful that her words came out sounding more like a bad omen than a joke. She kicked one foot out over the other, appearing casual even as she already made at least 2 dozen escape plans and a million more plans of attack. Just in case. "Thereâs no reason to start before your time."
Colton extended his arms to stretch properly as he listened to a soft growl come from nearby. Did this have to happen right now? Seriously? Saying he felt like shit was a serious understatement right about now. What the hell had Abel given him? The better question was probably what hadnât Abel giving him? So much for being the self proclaimed responsible one in the family. And given the fact that he was about 5 feet away from a slightly angry vamp, Colton didnât feel so responsible right now.
The werewolf turned in the direction the voice came from but saw nothing at first. She sounded close enough. Colton remained alert (or alert as he could be after waking up in a cemetary), his blue eyes scanning the tombstones around him. âWell thatâs a relief. Seriously, you would not believe the night I had,â he replied, rubbing the back of his stiff neck now. âThe last thing I need is a pissed off fanger on my ass.â Maybe once he was moreâŠnot hungover? This wasnât the first time Colton had found himself having a one on one session with a vampire (he could practically hear Toby and Caden flipping a shit if they knew); but it was the first time the one on one was taking place in a cemeteryâŠsurprisingly. âBut I guess it makes sense youâre not buried anywhereâŠotherwise how would we even be having this conversation?â
Smooth, Belfront.
He cautiously stepped in the direction her voice was coming from, guard still up. Colton paused, taken back by the vampires words. He chuckled. âWait, was that a joke? Shit, you guys do have a sense of humor after all,â he added, a slightly amused grin forming on his lips. Just then he spotted his current confidant and holy shit. He was in trouble. Just a few feet from him stood the raven haired beauty, her dark eyes watching him intently. There was a small stain of something red, probably blood, near the top of her shirt. The woman wouldâve looked intimidating to any sane person but Colton was, in short, a Belfront.
He hadnât been planning on killing her, that much was a fact. Now he was just a little concerned about her killing him. It didnât seem like a bad way to go right now.
Forcing his thoughts in order, Colton kept his eyes on her now. âDonât I know it. Unfortunately, Iâve got a bit of a track record for ending up in this sort of place,â he admitted, an amused grin still on his face. In a way, it was kind of poetic for Colton to be the one to randomly wake up hung over as shit in a cemetery consideringâŠwell, he was Colton. âSo whatâs your excuse? Hoping to find a fresh snack around here? âCause Iâve got some bad news, babe, these guys arenât really a lively bunch,â he pointed out, looking around the countless tombstones.
Her eyes narrowed as he chuckled at her joke that wasnât really a joke. She wondered how long it would take for her to snap his neck. Most werewolves werenât a problem â but then again, he didnât seem like most werewolves. At least, not any of the ones back up north.
