⡴ gym teacher!sukuna has an embarrassingly known crush on school nurse!reader
lowkey wanna turn this into a full oneshot
if he heard one more twelve year old’s squeaky voice whispering to one another, saying he’s ‘got a crush on the school nurse’ he swears he’s gonna write up the whole grade.
god, it’s even worse when one of the eighth grade girls come up to him when he’s on lunch duty.
“mr., mr. ! did you know the nurse mentioned she likes tall guys when i went into her room for a tylenol !”
“what does that have to do with me ?” he grumbles, scrunching his face while the girl and her friend stare up at him.
“well everyone knows you like like her—”
“GO SIT DOWN!”
he swears the whole lunchroom conveniently goes quiet when he yells that as the girls squirm away back to their tables and start whispering around gossip.
and even worse than the girls that draw hearts around you and sukuna’s staff photos next to eachother in the main office, he’s got gojo. gojo, who ships you two and nags him like worse-than a middle school girl. gojo, who shoves you two together for any school event.
“what game do you have planned for tomorrow?” you ask, leaning over to whisper to sukuna as eighth grade awards are called for each subject, timing claps inbetween your words while names are called. you smirk, “how many kids am i gonna have sent my way next time?”
“just dodgeball.” he leans down to whisper flatly against your ear, still staring down a kid giggling in the seating rows of the auditorium and effectively getting him to stop with his gaze.
“your version of dodgeball is basically to the death, i might have to have paramedics in my room on standby.” you joke, turning to smile at him so sweetly. in his mind, this counts as him making you laugh and therefore counts as a win.
he chuckles lightly, just a quick huff of his chest, but essentially the hardest he can laugh if he’s not looking at a kid getting tackled in class. “these kids will toughen up eventually, i am just teaching them to do it early.”
“were you a weak kid that needed to toughen up? i can really only picture you as a big scary dude.”
“i was actually a severely malnourished child due to my mothers impoverished state during her pregnancy.“ he says, truly not realizing how solemn he sounds in his voice even as he means it as a light hearted jest.
you blink at him, face contorted in confusion and awkwardness. he wants to hit himself.
the only thing that saves him from not saying anything stupid again is the end of the assembly, marked by gojo yelling into a megaphone and for kids to round up by homeroom.
the following week he’s still embarrassed to even look you in the eyes. he’s mulling over how stupid he must’ve looked infront of you while sifting through the equipment closet.
he hears steps echo throughout the currently empty gym before he yells out.
“gojo i’m not covering your lunch break, fuck off—” he turns around to not see the usual suspect he finds during his free period. instead, he sees you, leaning against the door in scrubs and white coat clinging to your body. he stills in his motion.
you speak before he can (if he can speak at all in his embarrassed state).
“i understand the confusion, he bothers me all the time too.” you dismiss, smiling at him with your glossed lips he probably thinks about hourly. waitwaitwait, gojo talks to you all the time ? he’s going to kill that lanky fuck. “just wanted to drop these off for yuri in your next period.” you jostle around a pill bottle in your hand, “she can get fainty on gym days so give these to her just in case to help prevent that.” he knows it’s your job and all, but your concern is honestly kinda cute.
“uhh yeah i’ll be sure to.” he nods, right as you drop the bottle on top of a stack of rubber cones by the door before you walk out. and he would just like it to be known he definitely didn’t stare at your ass as you left.
and he typically makes it easier for himself to deny how down bad he is to you, but now, after you spent a week of saved up sick days out last week, he’s kind of craving your voice. so who can blame him when he calls his 6th grade nephew into his office while he’s supposed to be at lunch.
“look, kid. i’m going to need you to do something, and i’m gonna need you to not be annoying about it, kay?”
yuji furrows his brows, fiddling with the strings of his hoodie.
“you,” he gestures to his nephew, “are going to act like you collapsed and let me bring you up to the school nurse. you are then going to be quiet when i talk to her.”
“is it cause you have a crush on her—”
sukuna tenses before cutting him off.
“do a good job acting and i will consider buying you that human earthworm blu-ray. do you hear me, brat?”
yuji’s eyes light up at the mention of the dvd.
“is this impression good enough then?” yuji leans and clutches at his side in fake fatigue while moaning dramatically for help, then immediately straightens up with a smile like he’s waiting for a rating. sukuna shakes his head and genuinely wonders how he’s related to this—in sukuna’s words— pea brained doofus.
he dials your number on his offices phone, sitting tense in his chair while he shh’s yuji. yuji nods and salutes as sukuna continues to roll his eyes.
yuji could’ve sworn he saw him smile when you pick up. he continues to watch sukuna fiddle with the curled wire of the phone as he explains yuji’s apparently dire situation. he can just barely hear the muffled sound of you saying ‘just bring him up and i’ll check him out.” over the speaker of the phone before sukuna hangs up and fixes his hair.
sukuna walks out the door and desperately tries to ignore yuji’s terrible post fainting impression behind him as his nephew follows his step to your room.
just before they step into your room he whispers to yuji as he leans over.
“if you can bring up me being single i’ll take you out for ice cream, brat.”
ignore typos i was too lazy to fix any
“i was actually a severely malnourished child due to my mothers impoverished state during her pregnancy.“
I’m sorry but I laughed hard, IT WAS SO RANDOM

megumi portrait !
everyone’s so upset about the wordle answer being “pshaw” and I’m over here like “clearly these people haven’t read the raven cycle.”
You’d never been scared of Simon before. Sure maybe uneasy, especially toward the beginning when he was just an intimidating figure in a mask, but once he started spewing his stupid jokes, you realized he wasn’t the ghost everyone made him out to be.
You can’t say the same right now, though, as he slams his fist into the ground beside your head, hard enough to rattle the floor, barely missing breaking your skull. Right now, you were scared for your life.
You knew whatever the terrorists were doing was bad. I mean…they got the label of terrorist from somewhere, but you’d never expected to find what you did.
The team was split between a couple different warehouses. You and Simon in one while the others checked somewhere else. You’d been given word of some nefarious on-going’s inside, but when you slid open a giant door to reveal people—hundreds of people strapped to beds with wires and tubes attached to them—you were shocked.
“Simon…” you whispered as you gently encroached into the room, looking around at the unconscious bodies. Were they even alive?
“I know.” Is all he can say. “John, we’ve got some fucked up shit in here,” he relays.
“When do we not?”
“No, John…there’s people, like a lot of them, strapped into medical beds with some weird fluid being pumped into them.” You explain further, walking deeper into the room and shooting a disturbed look back to Simon, “it’s human experimentation, John.”
“…fuuuuckin’ hell,” he breathes deeply down the line, “we’re on our way.”
You build up the courage to approach one of the…patients. She’s pretty but gaunt, her skin is pallid and her cheekbones are too accentuated. She’s breathing, though, you can tell now. You’re so focused on her that you jump when a commotion breaks out behind you.
You whip around, gun raising to meet the threat. It’s a crazed looking doctor grappling with Simon, you think he must’ve caught him off guard too because Simon’s gun is on the floor. They’re a mess of limbs and you don’t have a shot, you’re trying to find one when you notice the glint of a needle in the doctor’s hand.
Your gun drops, you have no idea what could possibly be in that needle, but if it causes Simon to end up like the people in these beds, there’s no way it’s getting in his system.
You resort to charging into the fray, knocking the doctor away from Simon, slamming both of you ungracefully into a cart. It goes flying, metal crashing onto the floor and medical supplies skidding. Somehow, the syringe stays locked in his grasp. He moves to jam it into your arm, so you pull your knees to your chest and push against him to gain some distance.
Simon swoops in, pulling you off the ground and away from the man, but it’s like he’s rabid. He just picks himself up and lunges once more, poised to stab you with the needle.
He brings his arm down, finding purchase, but not in you. Simon wrapped his arm around your chest, taking the needle into his own arm to prevent it from going into you.
“No!” Your strangled cry floods the room.
Simon’s grip releases as he falls to the floor. You don’t look back, instead ripping your knife from your thigh holster and stabbing it into the doctor’s chest.
His rampage finally stops. He’s gone, but the damage is done. You flip around, scared of what you’ll find. Simon is on the floor, not moving. Your heart drops harder and faster than it ever has.
Please. Please don’t be dead.
You fall to your knees next to him, one hand going to his chest and the other to his neck for a pulse. You take a breath. Another. And you feel it, faint but there. You almost cry out in relief, still, you bring your head down to his chest, needing to hear the beating to be okay. You hear one beat before you’re flipped over and slammed into the ground.
Your head hits the unforgiving concrete hard, only adding to your disorientation. Was the doctor not dead? But when you look up, instead of the enemy you only see Simon.
His knee is on your stomach and his hands are locked around your neck, squeezing. He’s choking you.
You don’t know what’s happening, this picture doesn’t make sense. Your hands come up to grasp his wrists, trying to pry them away. Already you’re losing your breath. Maybe he’s confused because he passed out? Adrenaline response?
“Si—“ you try to choke out but his grip is too strong. Your eyes are filling with tears. His are emotionless. These eyes do not belong to your Simon.
You throw your hand to the side, fumbling, trying to find a grip on something, anything. Finally you hit the cool metal of a tray that flew from the cart earlier. You don’t hesitate to bring it up to slam against his head.
Sorry, Simon.
The response is immediate, he lets go, hand flying to his head to cradle where you just hit him. You take the opportunity to twist him off of you, finally gasping in a full breath. You stand, or try to, and end up stumbling away from him. On instinct you go for your discarded gun.
…if it came down to it…could you shoot him?
No. No you don’t think you could.
Still, you don’t know what else to do. You stagger over, “cap—captain—“ your gruff voice starts down the comms. But Simon has always recovered fast.
He shoves against your back, sending you flying again. You’re ready this time, though. Whatever is happening to him to make him like this, you just need to knock him out so you can take him back home and get him back to normal. You beat him regularly, your wins pretty much split 50/50…you just hope today luck was on your side.
You flip around, immediatley having to block a nasty right hook with your forearm. The brunt force is harsh, but at least it wasn’t your face.
You go for a hit on his spleen, a spot he would normally cover, but he’s in such a blind rage he isn’t holding his form properly.
“Simon, please—“ you try to start. It’s not like he’s gone…right? He should be able to hear you?
He’s unrelenting, attacking you with a force you’ve rarely seen out of him. You can’t even spare two thoughts about the jumble of chatter coming down the radio. You calling for your captain and then going silent is bound to give him a few greys.
You’re being pushed back with every hit, hes swinging wildly and you’re just doing what you can to keep up. He gets in some good hits, one splits your lip. Finally, you’re able to slam a kick into his shin, slowing him marginally. You gain what distance you can and try again.
“Simon, listen to me. It’s me okay…your teammate, your friend. You can trust me…” you settle on friend because you don’t know what else to call whatever you are. Your hands come up in a placating gesture, but he barely bats an eye, just lunging for you again.
Your leg catches on a gurney, sending you to the floor. Simon follows you down, straddling you again. Then he pulls out his pistol, aiming it at your head.
His hands are shaking.
It’s the first hint of hesitance you’ve seen through this whole ordeal. And He…he’s crying. The cold metal touches your forehead.
“It’s okay,” you whisper. Whatever fucked up drug they put into his body is to blame for this, and right now you don’t know if he’ll come back or if he’ll wake up with the memory of killing you.
If he does, he’d never forgive himself.
Your eyes start to water too, you tell yourself it’s from the fight. “It’s okay, Simon. It’s not your fault.”
Your hand comes up hesitantly to his face, grabbing his mask gently and pulling it off his head. He lets you. You toss it aside, finally able to see him again. You put your hand on his cheek, wiping the stray tear.
His finger finds the trigger. I love you. You mouth, still too much a coward to say it out loud.
His hands shake harder, like he’s fighting himself. The gun flys out of his grip, skidding across the floor. His head falls into your chest as he collapses into you, a sob leaves him.
It makes your heart clench as you finally inhale shakily.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean—I didn’t mean to I swear, I’m so sorry—“ he’s crying into you.
You try to keep it together, hand coming to the back of his head, “shh, Simon it’s okay, I know. I know you didn’t.”
That’s where the rest of the team finds you both. The room a mess, a doctor dead on the floor, and both of you covered in cuts and bruises, holding each other tightly. If they see the tear streaks, they don’t say anything.
You tell them you need to raid the facility for information on what Simon got shot-up with, and to help the poor people that have been here for who-knows-how-long. They move into action, calling backup and starting to look for formation. But you and Simon stay right where you are, just letting yourselves be with each other. Sitting in the fear of the near-miss and the peace of knowing you’ll be okay.
After a while, he moves to press his face into your hair, whispering three words back to you.
You’ve always been a very touchy person. You seek comfort in the presence of others, and it presents as touching them. When you’re shoulder to shoulder with a friend, you find your hand subconsciously coming up to scratch and rub at their back. When you sit next to them on a couch, your arm goes around their shoulder to play with their hair. If anyone is ever wearing jewelry, you’ll fix the necklace or play with the bracelet. It’s never necessarily in any sort of way, it’s almost a form of fidgeting or to ground yourself. It’s just something that kind of happens the moment you get comfortable around someone. You sometimes forget that people don’t expect you to touch them.
Ghost isn’t used to casual touch. Nor is he used to touch that isn’t for the function of pain or punishment. Touch that is soft. That actually feels nice. So when your hand comes up to rub his back, he stiffens.
You come back to yourself, realizing you really don’t know Ghost like that and obviously he doesn’t like being touched, so you remove your hand immediately. What you don’t know is he wishes you hadn’t.
Later, you’ll be in the rec room on the couch talking with the team, and sure enough your mind escapes you again and you start to play with his hair. And Simon sort of just…melts. He was more prepared for it this time because of earlier, and no one has really played with his hair before and it just feels so good. So when all the tension leaks from his body and he starts to lean into you, eyes closing and looking totally at peace. The rest of the team’s conversation slows down as they realize what’s happening. Only then do you realize what you’re doing. You hesitate for a moment, considering pulling away, but he just looks so peaceful.
“Don’t stop now, kid. Haven’t seen him relax like that since…well, ever,” Price chimes in.
Simons head is still slowly leaning to the side when he mumbles back, “shove it, cap’n.”
Soap and Ghost get bed head BAD.
Soap wasn’t quiet about this, rather he was almost proud. Coming into the common room every morning to show off how crazy his Mohawk had gotten during the night.
With Ghost, you had to have been around for a while before learning this fact about him. After all, it required him to leave off his mask in the morning. But, man, the first time that happened, you just about melted.
The team had just returned from a two week long op, and you were all exhausted. So you weren’t suprised to see everyone emerging from their rooms late and still tired. You almost didn’t notice when Simon came out unmasked.
He came out in his big hoodie he used sometimes as a pump cover, sleeves falling over his hands and rubbing his eyes, yawning and stumbling into the common room. You’d never seen him look so soft. And his hair! Blonde! And all over the place. Just askew in every direction. He walked into the sun shining through the window, the golden light making his hair look like a halo and barely giving you a view of his freckles (he has freckles?).
You were practically jaw dropped looking at him, simply because you’d never seen him without the mask before. Honestly more than anything, you were moved by the trust he was showing you right now…and he was being really cute (which is not a word you would normally assign to him). You tried to school your expression to not make him uncomfortable, knowing he was insecure about his scars, but he still noticed.
He plopped down next to you on the couch, “sorry, know ‘s not pretty.”
You just stared blankly, “…quite the opposite.”
@tilliesartisty made art of this!!!!!! GO LOOK
You had a tendency to be fiercely, but quietly, loyal. It’s not like you gave this loyalty out freely, but once someone proved themselves to you and you realized you liked them, you’d do anything for them.
To be honest it didn’t come up that much. The people you were closest to were all very capable, and rarely needed anything from you.
You also weren’t a very aggressive person. Sure you were in the military, but outside of missions, you were never harsh with your words or fists.
Also, you had pretty tough skin. People said shit. It’s what they do. You had to learn to ignore whatever shit they said about you. It used to bother you, but you’ve realized it’s impossible to please everyone and to just block it out.
So no one really expected you to punch that corporal.
You and Ghost were entering the mess hall after a, frankly, brutal training. It’s something you’ve done a million times before. Go to training, walk to the mess with whatever member of your team you found, and meet up with the rest of them for lunch.
This time however, you had a joint training with the American Marines. It happens around once a year, to keep relations and share tactics between allies. You’d never had a problem before. Honestly it could be kind of fun.
This time, however, there was this one corporal who just wouldn’t shut up. He was one of those guys who thought he was better than everyone else and was not quiet about it. It didn’t help that he was quite crass and rude to top it all off.
During the training, it had grated on your nerves. He had said some maybe not-nice things about the drill instructors—but hey who hadn’t? When they’re smoking you so hard you want to throw up, tossing out a couple of insults under your breath was not uncommon. But he was just so annoying. Not to say that he was bad at his job. He matched Ghost pretty well throughout the whole thing, with Ghost pulling ahead towards the end. Apparently that didn’t sit right with him.
So when you and Ghost walked past him, and he whispered “freak,” clearly directed at Simon, you kind of lost it.
You whipped around, “what did you say?” Your eyes narrowed harshly at him. You might be able to tolerate people saying shit about you, but that had no hold over what you tolerated toward people you cared about.
You knew what people thought about Simon—that he was this weird, hard-core, mysterious freak. You’d be lying if you said you weren’t intimidated by him when you first met. But when you get to know Simon you realize he’s…kinda a dork? Who else would make the stupid jokes he does, or help you tie your shoe that one time you broke your arm, or gently move your teddy bear (you’re not ashamed) before he sat on your bed. Now don’t get it wrong, he was a killing machine, but that’s not all he was.
So yeah you had gotten a little protective over Ghost and how people tended to perceive him. Luckily, anyone who was around for longer than 24 hours knew not to fuck with him. But not this corporal.
“Said, freak.” He repeated unabashedly.
So you clocked him in the nose. And he went down. Hard.
Honestly you didn’t really think your actions through, nor did you expect him to go down so easily. But here you were with an American marine bleeding from the nose at your feet with the entire mess hall as witnesses. Oh and look at that, it seems his nose is actually broken, not just bleeding.
“Woah,” came from Ghost as he grabbed your bicep to pull you away from the marine. “Ain’t nothing I haven’t heard before, sweetheart.”
He looked genuinely confused on why you would defend him so fiercely. And if that didn’t make you want to punch that corporal more-
“Sergeant! My office, now.” Shit. Price.
“Doesn’t mean you should have to hear it,” you gave to Simon before briskly following your captain out of the mess.
And oh no your foot slipped and just seemed to jam into the corporal on the way out. Shame.
Declan loves his little brother so much 😭
The saddest part about the TRC is that Adam never understood how much Gansey admired him. Like, Gansey really thought Adam was some kind of mythical creature who could do no wrong. Even Ronan shades Adam for acting on his own at the end of book 1, but Gansey just IGNORES IT COMPLETELY. Meanwhile Adam thinks Gansey as someone “superior” to him :(
i need someone to scream about this with wth this is so fucking funny
Yeah, that's really something to celebrate 😂
