UR so lucky ur going to Sf pride i wanted to go for my bday but i couldn't. anyways just don't try to educate someone who's gay about their own sexuality or anything LGBT and just be respectful of their pride and u should b fine

Oh no that would be like the sexual orientation version of mansplaining hahaha and you’ll get your chance at SF pride, this is the first year I’ve gotten to go even though I live like 20 minutes away because I’ve always had some kind of conflict every year. And your birthday must be coming up so happy birthday!!

Just go! Like. There's nothing really you can do at pride to distract from the point unless you're really really trying to. Especially at sanfran pride. Have fun!

Thanks!! Yeah I feel you, since it’s SF there’s gonna be a ton of craziness so it would be hard to make it about my straightness when there are so many other more exciting things going on! I just wanted to check in because every summer there are posts about problematic straight people at pride, and of course I’d like to think I know better than to do something offensive but it can’t hurt to keep myself educated :-)

okay so I'm going to pride in san francisco with a couple of my friends soon and most of us are straight but we want to show our love and support SO I would like to ask my followers who are not straight for any advice/tips on how to be cool allies who are there for a good time but not making it about them because this event is not about us
