why would you do this to me
I think the biggest "he would not fucking say that" I've ever experienced was when I read a terror modern au fic where the characters were doing land acknowledgements

This is the superior “comic showing the events leading up to a popular gif” post.
Did some non-academic writing for the first time in a long time that I’m reasonably proud of

Reblogging with the addition of the follow up I started after posting, don’t know what bit me today but I somehow powered through 2000 words and I’m not gonna look that gift horse in the mouth

Gaius Emberbane & Ayami Viioculi sketches ranked from least to most sensual.
Gaius (Charr) belongs to my friend Nath, Ayami is mine✨
What if the Elder Dragons were actually… benevolent, like what Soo-Won had hoped? I wonder what they would be like, and how Tyrian culture might be shaped around them.
Like, imagine Jormag being a haughty little shit and verbally sparring with Raven on a daily basis whenever they tire of observing mortals. Norns taking pilgrimages to consult with Jormag and their infinite wisdom whenever they’re unable to find solace with the spirits of the wild, which they readily give. Albeit condescendingly.
Mordremoth being a surprisingly Good Grandpa to the Sylvari (and being murderously pissed his first batch of grandchildren were kidnapped/experimented on by the inquest). Maybe he’d claim the entirety of the Maguuma jungle as their home, instead of just Caledon Forest.
Primordus who is still a momma’s boy, sticking close to Soo-Won (and Cantha, gods bless them and their geothermic wellbeing).
Kralkatorrik, like Mordremoth, actually being a competent grand/parent to Glint, Vlast and Aurene, perceiving the future and being lauded as the seer and shepherd of Tyria (something that Jormag may or may not be salty about.) Also, him comparing grandkids with Mordremoth- it’s a bit unfair Mordremoth gets to produce them in the hundreds.
Zhaitan becoming a patron deity for the non-human necromancers, a force against which even an experienced lich like Joko wouldn’t dare mess with. While the human gods and the elder dragons probably wouldn’t be on great terms with each other, I imagine Zhaitan and Grenth might have a particularly rocky relationship, what with the debate over who’s the real master of death.
Soo-Won, who has to deal with 5 well-overgrown dragons migrating to poor Cantha to visit her every few decades or so. Imagine the bickering.

my brain is still stuck on the prison instance but specifically the detail of the machine/bed thing (I don't know what the correct term would be)
because in interaction text, the story journal, and Gorrik's dialogue it's noted that the Commander was hooked up/attached to said machine.
And because I have a tendency to focus on weird little details I now want to know the following;
- How were they hooked up to it? Sensors? IV? Other medical thing I don't know? Some purely magic-based method?
- Were they still attached when they woke up? If so would they have unhooked it themself? (And if there was iv invloved isn't it bad to just rip them out?)
(am I now imagining Kai standing up, ripping out ivs/etc., and immediately attempting to break out despite the fact that he'd still be half out of it AND unable to see even 2 feet in front of him (maybe less) because his glasses would have also broken in the crash? Yes. Yes I am.)
I'm gonna count this as the Second Time the Commander Almost Died. They've died once already. But that impact damned near did it a second time.
The Commander was out for WEEKS from the crash and was ONLY alive because they got hooked up to basically the Golden Throne for life support until their battered body was healed. Long enough for:
-a message to be sent back to Tyria about us.
-a response and diplomatic mission to be sent in return
-the lengthy process of them explaining/pleading that the Commander wasn't trying to start an international incident
-the initial opening of borders and the arrival of MANY different kinds of traders, travellers, and others to arrive and be somewhat integrated into Canthan society. Somewhat.
With Balthazar we were dead for maybe an hour tops. Kralkatorrik's branding, we managed to WALK AWAY FROM.
But when that ship crashed and we hit the beach (and probably parts of the ship too), at high speed....
We were so lucky they had that advanced life support unit handy. Our condition was SO not good. I kinda wish there'd been a medical NPC we could ask to find out what our injuries had been.
this was meant to be a quick warm-up sketch and ended up taking me 2 hours v-v
