how big are the air vents on the ships that Coal can get to most places through them?

secondly how is he bypassing all the fans and presumably other machinery associated with life support with out making a ruckus?

You assume he doesn't make a ton of noise regardless. XD What was it again? The Ravenguard doesn't want you to know they are there, or for you to see them. The Alpha Legion wants you to know they are there but not for you to see them, and the Night Lords want you to know they are there, and for you to see them? :D How else would you know their presence to be as inescapable as the night itself?

About Coal, does he have an actual name? I’m curious about the elegant bastard. Also, what kind of things did he do to make his Legion sick of him?

Father,

There has been a significant change. The Legion is shifting faster than we expected and the more recruits we take in, the quicker they lose their loyalty. What was at first a symbol of reckoning, of vindication, is now an herald of cruelty and senseless abuse.

I tried to talk to my brothers, to warn them. None would listen, none would realise the inescapable jaws of fate closing on the Eighth. I am left with no choice but to send this request, this plea of sorts. We need to fix the source, to make an example for both the Legion and the others worlds. None can rebel against your rule.

Maybe then, and then only the Eighth would fall in line, while we slowly include more loyal souls to the ranks.

However this is but only a part of the problem. Corruption runs amok within your closest sons, and without culling the bad elements there isn't any hope possible for us to fulfil our roles, our duties. 

You made me in charge of your rightful retribution, and what I see desolates my soul.

What even are the Wings of Dawn??

Hello! :D Allow me to introduce you to my homebrew chapter, the Wings of Dawn! The wings are comprised of these lovely Astartes, all from pure Emperor's Children geneseeds from the Great Crusade :

What does "Huskborn" mean? Well you see, their original ship (the Wing of Dawn, later known as the Husk) ended up stranded in the warp right after the Cheraut Crusade. They had to survive in extremely hard and actively degrading conditions, all while trying to keep their numbers up to keep defending the slowly dwindling human population on board. Of the original marines, only Morgen and Aurazur remain, the others were all born in the Husk, in the warp. Fortunately, they were rescued! :D By a rogue Trader named Grigori Cian Arkanekh and his companion, the Lord Inquisitor Phillip March of the Ordo Xenos. They assessed that the Wings were loyal and after a meeting with the Imperial Family, they were allowed to start working on making their own chapter!

For context, I am playing in @lazywriter-artist's AU where the Emperor is awake (though not quite all there), Guilliman and Dorn are taking care of him and Magnus is also there somehow. XD We shouldn't see them too often, perhaps aside from Guilliman who is overseeing the creation of the chapter, the focus is on how to rebuild a broken legacy from the misfits of the Imperium. The Wings are an open chapter that needs a lot of work to truly rival what the IIIrd legion used to be! ;) Among the lovely individuals who will be helping, we have these wonderful OCS and their owners! :D

This list is not complete, and many characters have their own stories outside of the blog, and thus will simply appear as a nod here and there with no narrative role. :) I will update things as I go. And with that we have reached the official end of Taryn's story! :D Thank you everyone for having enjoyed my silly little psyker and his shenanigans for almost 2 years! We started in august 2024, and have now reached the end in may of 2026! Two years of comics, writing, asks and more, this collaborative storytelling has been a blast! :D We are going to move on to the Wings of Dawn now, but don't worry, the Titan's Requiem will never be far, we will see everybody again! ;D

I hope you will be there for those stories as well! In the meantime, thank you so much, and don't worry... I'm not going anywhere! ;D

What happens after is purely depending on wether the Night Haunter is already fucked up or not. If not, he should grow up fine, because Coal is the definition of what a Night Lord should have been (aka not a full on psycho addicted to lawlessness)

Also Coal would be both torn regarding his father's sacrifice 10 thousand years ago and extremelly excited to reunite the Legion under a un-fucked Konrad Curze. I mean, who cares about the corona nox when you have the actual primarch

I just found out nobody knows where Konrad’s head went after his assassination, so I had to.

*throws a box onto the ship for Coal to find* If he looks inside, there’s the severed head of his Primarch inside.

Coal opens the box and is smitten by a mix of sadness and rage.

Father. I was not here when the Legion fell, nor did I see you turn our home into dust. I was not here to stop the corruption from within, I have failed you. I learned of what transpired after Cherault from the modern archives, and Father you would have hated what I read. I have witnessed the Emperor's work, and how perverted it became. Yet we face many enemies, new and old, yet worlds still rebel, and your teachings ring forever true, as they all seem to have forgotten what retribution the Night Haunter brings. I shall preserve your head, Father, as a relic of a time long gone and a grim reminder that none can escape their fate. In time, I shall find your armaments too.

The Astartes looks into the dark corner where the box fell from.

I have so many questions. First. It has been ten thousand years! How is it conserved that well? Second, why would you? You must be painfully aware what this means, correct?

He holds up the box with reverence, and still adressing whomever it may concern, calmly resumes.

Whenever you rest, you shall fear my arrival. Whenever you close your eyes, my voice shall echo closer. Wherever you take a step, I shall crush. Whomever you belong to, I shall take from you. For as many suns you see, as many Dusks follow. And one fateful Night, you will stop and know We have come for you.

How in the hell did this average as hell hiver ever charm the son of the Rogue Trader, we will never know. Another case of "He makes me laugh :)" I'm sure!
