ADDENDUM
This is by no means a comprehensive list, just things I've personally come across and researched as I went. Please feel free to add on it this!! I will be keeping this pinned and updating it with new info as it comes
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Cats have tiny lungs, so even if something is considered non-toxic you should never burn it around your cats. Any incense, herb bundles etc should only be burnt in a well ventilated room that is closed off to cats. Use non-burning methods wherever possible
Even if something is non-toxic, please ensure that it is safely stored and there are no chances of your cat ingesting large amounts of it. This may still make them ill and it's always best to be cautious.
Starting in on minor arcana pages now and boy, drawing 9 wands in a tiny box was exhausting. Need to figure out a better design for swords 😂 any ideas?
This is a sigil method that I use for a lot of sigils on my page. It’s come to my attention that my old post is extremely difficult to understand. Hopefully, with this example it will become more clear.
The first picture is the template of all the letters and the direction they represent.
The second picture underlines all the letters that are used. I underlined them once again for the letters that are repeated. Notice the ones that repeat have a small circle at the end of that line.
The 3rd picture is the 2nd to last step. From there you modify it slightly to put your intent in it.

Spades are the suit of challenges, struggles, obstacles, conflicts and setbacks. This suit generally warns of oncoming struggles or describes current drama. The following are my own interpretations of the individual cards.
♤ Ace ♤
Some would say that the ace of spades is the card of death. When upright, ace of spades speaks of abrupt ends and sudden changes. It's the things we can't avoid or run from forever. Whether it was a long time coming or something that is happening due to recent actions, it is weaved into our fate.
When reversed, ace of spades speaks of discomfort and anxiety. Sometimes it represents paranoia in the individual. The surrounding cards will often tell exactly what has the individual feeling so nervous.
♤ Two ♤
I like to associate the two of spades with broken bottles. When upright, two of spades speaks of angry words, aggressive conflict and separation. Paying attention to the surrounding suits can help you get an idea on what caused the conflict or separation. If the two of spades lies between kings, queens or jacks, it indicates separation between people.
When reversed, the ace of spades speaks of reconciliation and making amends. Even if things don't go back to the way they used to be, the individuals manages to repair some of the damage.
♤ Three ♤
This card often warns of bad luck coming in a streak of threes. When upright, three of spades speaks of imbalance, disruption and disagreements. If there are multiple kings, queens or jacks, it represents the conflict between them.
When reversed, three of spades speaks of return of balance, harmony and overcoming obstacles. Depending on the surrounding cards this could be refuted.
♤ Four ♤
This card represents troubling things that require your direct attention. When upright, four of spades speaks of anything from violence to accidents to illness. Your protections, whether magical and mundane, are compromised. The surrounding cards can help clarify exactly what troubles you need to be aware of.
When reversed, four of spades speaks of protection and security from these things. You have little to worry about; you're safe, for now.
♤ Five ♤
Five of spades often speaks of one's wellbeing. When upright, five of spades can warn about risk of injury or illness. It can also point out the grudges the individual has, wanting them to "bury the hatchet."
When reversed, five of spades speaks of concerns for mental health. Depending on the surrounding cards, it can point out things such as anxiety, depression, grief and so on.
♤ Six ♤
If the ace of spades if the card of death, the six of spades is the coffin card. When upright, six of spades predicts an ending of some kind (perhaps not as abrupt as the ace of spades), as well as a need to be courageous and take action. This card can also warn of temptation, sometimes from a "devil" in your life. Be careful who you keep company with.
When reversed, six of spades speaks of resurrection. Something is making its way back to the individual, whether it be materialistic or a person. The surrounding cards will offer more clarity.
♤ Seven ♤
This card is simply defined by loss. When upright, seven of spades warns of losing something of value. Sometimes it literally means the person is lost in their path. The surrounding cards can give you more insight on what is at risk.
When reversed, seven of spades speaks of having something returned. Sometimes it is something emotional, sometimes it is something physical. Anything from one's motivation to stolen property may be returned.
♤ Eight ♤
You know the saying "You made your bed, now you'll lay in it?" That's what this card sums up to. When upright, eight of spades speaks of consequences and circumstances. Sometimes it speaks of the individual being at a crossroads; needing to make an important decision. It can be positive or negative, depending on the surrounding cards.
When reversed, eight of spades speaks of a light at the end of the tunnel. Another saying that can define this is "This ain't the bed you're meant to die in."
♤ Nine ♤
This is a card of hauntings, whether is be by literal spirits or one's own actions. When upright, nine of spades warns of the enemies you've made or spirits that are attached to you. It can also indicate the individual is feeling restless.
When reversed, nine of spades speaks of a sense of relief for both the living and the dead. The individual can rest well.
♤ Ten ♤
I like to think of this card as the grave; the end of things. When upright, it means just that: the worst of a situation is over. Depending on the surrounding cards, though, this card can also speak of a sense of loss or grief. The surrounding cards will help clarify exactly what is going on.
When reversed, ten of spades warns that there is still trouble ahead. The conflict is still ongoing, and sometimes it means that your enemies are plotting against you.
The jacks, queens and kings represent people in my interpretations. These cards in the spades suit tend to be individuals with darker features; their natural hair color, eyes, skin and/or style may present darker. This will likely not apply to every person being represented by these cards, so consider the following interpretations as well.
♤ Jack ♤
The jack of spades is a troublesome, rebellious person who isn't trustworthy. They tend to betray people and are prone to having aggressive attitudes. Even if they treat those closest to them well, they are still prone to conflict with everybody else.
♤ Queen ♤
The queen of spades is a feminine-presenting individual who is cruel, manipulative and bitter. They are malicious in their words and actions. There may be occasions where their words hold some level of truth, but more often they are out of spite. This card often represents a cruel mother/parent, a jealous wife/partner or a bitter widow.
♤ King ♤
The king of spades is a masculine-presenting person who is best described to be a criminal, or at least a person who doesn't follow the law. They are rigid and tend to come off authoritative in the worst ways. This person is hard to be around and often can't be trusted with anything; secrets, valuable items... nothing.
Quick little sound bath for everyone during these scary times. Great for if you’re feeling anxious, sad, missing friends and family, or feeling any extreme emotion.

There are many forms of divination, as outlined in the below image. This article focuses particularly on sortilege.
Sortilege is the practice of divining information through choosing objects “at random.” This form of divination includes Tarot, runic practices, and many other practices that witches commonly use.
The thing is, while it is without a doubt traditional to use cards, runestones, or other similar paraphernalia for sortilege, it can really be done with most anything. In other words, to practice sortilege, all you really need is a small bag of objects, each with a particular significance.
I’ve had several witches write to me asking how they might use a gemstone collection for divination. Sortilege is an ideal way to do this.
To practice sortilege with gemstones, I recommend a collection of at least ten small or medium-sized stones. Chips work well, provided they’re not too small, and I personally use chips when I do this.
You also need something to hold (and hide) the stones. An opaque cup or small bag works well for this. I use a small jewelry bag, because the chips I use are quite small.
To do this with gemstones, or any other object, you must both a) be able to identify each object by sight, and b) have an existing understanding of the object’s symbolism.
In the case of gemstones, it is important that you know, for example, what the rose quartz looks like so that, if you draw it, it is not confused for the sunstone, etc. You’ll also need to know what it symbolizes - you should know that rose quartz (again, as an example) is associated with love, whereas sunstone is more aligned with personal power, etc.
Naturally, your own associations for the stones will vary, and of course, that’s okay. The point is, you need to have an assigned meaning for each gemstone or object. It’s good to write them down, too, just to help solidify them in your memory or, if necessary, refer back to the written meaning.
To begin, place all the gemstones in the bag and give it a gentle, but thorough shake. This is, in my experience, best done while focusing on the question you wish to answer via the divination.
If you’ve worked with runic divination, you can likely guess what to do next. Reach into the bag, and draw out a “random” gemstone! Or several. Then, you interpret your results based on the existing meanings you have for the stones.
I’m not going to list a bunch of gemstone meanings, though, because those tend to be highly personal to the individual, and also, the traditional associations are well-documented elsewhere.
If you’d like to learn more about gemstone lore and traditions, I recommend the book Dunwich’s Guide to Gemstone Sorcery to get you started. I will, though, include the image below, which outlines my own approach to certain gemstones magically.
It’s based on the seven classical planets, like a lot of the work I do.
This form of sortilege is a good way to familiarize yourself with gemstones and get the most out of the stones you might run across. It’s also a good thing to do if you’re a witch that typically uses gemstones, but haven’t leapt into divination yet and want to try.

Mercury
Planet of impulse. Passion, sex love, activity, sudden changes. Stimulator of magnetism. Accidents. Quickener of effects of other planets. Rules fevers and all inflammatory diseases.
Mars
Plane of war. Inharmony, quarrels, law suits, combativeness, antagonism, strength, vitality, sex force, restlessness under restraint. Rules liver and bilious diseases, headaches and dyspepsia.
Jupiter
Planet of inharmony. Sickness, death, enmity, anger, selfishness, intoxication, gluttony, poverty, disgrace, ill luck, hardship. Rules diseases of all kinds, in each house of the Zodiac.
Uranus
Planet of Labor. Domesticity, love of nature and the young, life force high, veneration, justice, foresight, frugality, ingenuity. Appertains to the ground. Rules weakness and all diseases caused by a low vibratory force.
Neptune
Planet of water. Locality, or power to remember places, bibativeness, sailing, traveling, sublimity or love of the marvelous, intuition, application, eventuality, self control. Roles rheumatism and all diseases made worse by dampness.
Moon
Satellite of earth. Rules all forms of insanity and crankiness. Effect constant upon inhabitants of earth but varied by polar changes.
Earth
Planet of selfishness. Grasping, greed, acquisitiveness, tyranny, love of money and power, effect constant upon the inhabitants thereof, but changed according to polarity of earth in various houses.
floral infused waters, tinctures, and oils, floral scented candles, perfume, floral art, fake or real flowers, flower seeds, butterflies, bees, and ladybugs
Stones and crystals:
lavender quartz, rose quartz, any aura quartz, garden quartz
Deities and creatures:
Flora, Chloris, anthousai, floral fae
Spells they are best for: theres different flowers for every type of spell (including cursing), but flowers tend to have a gentle energy, and are best for happiness, love, cleansing, healing, and other positive magic.
🌸Activities:
🌻Plan a flower garden
🌸Collect floral waters and extracts
🌻If you’re comfortable with it, work with floral fae
🌸Make floral arrangement spells ( for example: a bouquet of eucalyptus, white rose, white lily, hydrangea, and babys breath for cleansing)
🌻Likewise, make floral perfume spells, floral tea spells, or floral water spells
🌸Spend time at your local botanical gardens
🌻Make flower themed art
🌸make flower petal spells that get carried off into the wind
My need to be organized makes it very difficult to start writing in my BoS. I keep trying to remind myself that I can do whatever I want with it, but I’ve still barely written in it.
I feel like there’s an order that I should be doing things in, but I don’t know what that order is or if it even exists. I should probably just start with what I’m most interested in and organize it later in a different book.

Hello my dears, especially all of you young new enthusiastic witches who are curious about the world of witchcraft and the use of mysticism in your life. Witchcraft is very rewarding and is practiced worldwide for a variety of reasons. I, too, was once a curious and honestly confused young witch trying to figure out where to start and how I should begin my journey. This is why I am creating this new series of guides for all of you who have found yourselves in that boat. I truly hope that these will help you greatly!
With these guides, I will be posting all sorts of information for you including vocabulary, links, resources, correspondences, exercises to practice, examples and even in some cases “homework” for you to give a try. What is a witch?
Let’s start with something simple but important for all beginners to understand. What actually is a witch? A witch is an individual who uses magick, pretty simple. They do NOT have to be female or born “into it” or Wiccan. A witch is a person who uses and practices witchcraft and Magick.
What is magick?
Magick is making an effort through energy of oneself or other types of energies to change aspects of one’s life. These changes can vary depending on the type of spells, rituals and practices you are using. The reason a “k” is used at the end of magick is simply to separate it from the word magic which is often associated with illusions and parlor tricks. Though some do still call it “magic” so it is really out of preference.
