A photo from a long time ago. For the most part, I work very well at home, but recently I have been missing my university workspace. I like switching up my environment, alternating days at home with days at the office. I find the change of space tricks me into feeling refreshed and helps to keep me focused.

Feeling thoughful tonight
I just finished "The Book of Lost Hours" by Hayley Gelfuso. Its a book about the construct of time, memory, love, and the tailoring of history. Its message is deep, and its concepts require some processing time. However, I would overall give it a 5 out of 5 stars.
The characters in the book are drawn to the language of poetry. One that was mentioned by Emily Dickinson really struck me. It doesn't need an excess of words to make its point, and its message really digs into the heart. So I thought I'd share it here, and I hope you feel moved by it as well.
Remorse
Remorse is memory awake, Her companies astir, -- A presence of departed acts At window and at door. It's past set down before the soul, And lighted with a match, Perusal to facilitate Of its condensed despatch. Remorse is cureless, -- the disease Not even God can heal; For 't is his institution, -- The complement of hell. Emily Elizabeth Dickinson
I’ve been on Tumblr for almost 15 years now, running my tiny book blog, screaming about stories I love, making friends in the notes, and voting in the Goodreads Choice Awards every single year.
And now, fifteen years later, my own book is a finalist in those same awards. My little blog-runner, fanfiction-reader, library-dwelling teenage self would not believe this.
If you love...
secret magical libraries full of memories,
found-family bonds and ghostly companions,
time-bending stakes and hidden histories,
a heroine fighting to protect truth and memory,
a pseudo-enemies-to-lovers-to-strangers-and-back-again love story
…then this book might be just your kind of read.
If you’ve read or just want to support a longtime book-blogger turned author, I’d be so grateful for your vote. 💛📚

as a librarian, i can't encourage you enough to check out stuff you don't think you'll get around to reading
like other institutions, at the end of the day we have to use numbers to justify our existence and inform our financial decisions
check out that novel by that author you like even if you know there's no time to finish it. check out a movie you like even if you can't watch it. check out a sewing machine even if you don't have time for a project. we don't check if you finish anything, and it all adds up.
support your local library by checking out things you don't need
