Dappervolk Limited Pets - Quick Guide

I see these questions come up a lot in the discord so here’s a quick nibble of information for anyone that doesn’t know. 

The Celestial Pup (left) is the alpha tester exclusive pet. Everyone who participated in alpha got one, with there being around 150 alpha tester accounts (meaning there are around 150 of the pet).The Clerical Dragoncat (middle) is the alpha support bundle pet. The bundle was available for anyone to purchase for $20 during the length of alpha, and approximately 225 of these bundles were sold (meaning there are around 225 of the pet). The Prismatic Pup (right) is the beta tester exclusive pet. Everyone who participates in beta will get one. We currently don’t know how many people will be in beta, but if you want this exclusive pet, make sure you sign up (in a few months)!! Lastly, all of the Kickstarter pets will be retired after the KS ends. From what we can currently determine, there will be a couple hundred of each pet, though the number will diminish as the pets are used in alchemization to get the legendaries. If you want any of those, be sure to pledge or find someone to trade with you!

Final week of KS hype!! Be sure to check out the Kickstarter info! Here’s the class/race selection screen, a bit of the forums, and some of my miscellaneous pets before I sent them to be alchemized (don’t ask about the names, I have no explanation). Wholesome Potato is from the Support Bundle and Pot 8 O is the alpha tester pet. Baked Potato is a fantastical (rare) pet (from alchemization). Everything else is a quaint (common) rarity pet. All the quaint pets were hatched from items. I hope to see you all in beta (and I hope you see me there too)! :)

2 Weeks to go until the Dappervolk Kickstarter!

I keep finding more screenshots I took, and again to build on the hype here are a few more to share. I removed everything that was really spoiler-y (re: quests/story progression) but have tagged it as spoilers nonetheless just in case. Also, take note that these pics were all taken on mobile (iPhone), as that was what I used often to play the site. So if you were wondering if you could play on mobile, yes, you can!

Dappervolk Previews

These were all from months ago when I was in Alpha, I’m just posting a few that I didn’t post previously / random ones to jump on the HYPE TRAIN for the Kickstarter (/pounds fists on table hype train hype train)

Left to Right and Top to Bottom: One of the minigames, Pet Alchemy and a resulting pet (no spoilers for the recipe, the pet you got was random haha), my favorite Runty Turnip boi, and a few of my many wardrobe changes. I started as an elf and changed to animal when the option was presented (in the form of an account wipe). The top two are animal, the bottom 3 are elf.

Did you get anything else Alpha-exclusive besides the pet with the Alpha Invite? If you can't say, that's fine! I am just curious as I thought I heard there was more than one item/not just the Pet, but the Pet is the only image I have been able to find floating around.

Hello! I’m going to assume this is about Dappervolk (I’m fairly certain it is haha). In order to get pets, you have to hatch items… so you may have heard you get an Alpha pet and an item, but the item hatches into a pet, so it’s one and the same. There are other exclusive items that I have gotten, but they’re not specifically because I was an alpha tester–I won an item (tumblr) giveaway and got a Mountain Cloak and Winter Fox. I also purchased the Support Bundle (which is available to everyone for purchase but ONLY until the end of Alpha) and got multiple exclusive items, including two wardrobe items (Support Bun & Support Axe) and a hatchable item (Clerical Support Trinket - hatches Clerical Dragoncat).

DAPPERVOLK PET SYSTEM

Pets are the product of a user’s magic in the world of Dappervolk. Each player arrives with a special equip slot, where one pet or inanimate object can be equipped at a time. When you choose to equip an object, a hatch meter will appear under it and progressively fill up until your new pet is ready to hatch. Players can only hatch one pet at a time, and any hatching progress will be canceled if the item is unequipped before the pet comes to life.

Pets can be hatched from many items throughout the site, and there are various ways for users to obtain these special items. Some will be fairly easy to get, while others will take dedication, luck, or currency to obtain. To give you a better idea of what we mean by this, here’s a list of our three different pet rarities in Dappervolk.

QUAINT This is the most common type of pet, obtainable mostly through quests, minigames, and non-premium chance machines. When hatched, quaint pets will have no stats.

FANTASTICAL This type of pet is semi-rare and is obtainable mostly through non-premium and premium chance machines, events, and alchemy. Fantastical pets are hatched with a moderate amount of common stats but no luck.

LEGENDARY This is the rarest type of pet and can only be obtained through special alchemy recipes, rare premium gacha, or winning events. These pets come with 1-2 luck and a higher amount of common stats.

THINGS TO KNOW

Pets serve as the player’s sidekick and will help you with reaching quest requirements.

Pet totems can be used on pets to amplify their stats, each pet can equip 3 different totems at a time.

Rarely obtained pet food can be used to permanently increase a pet’s stats, but only if the pet is hungry enough. Your pet’s hunger meter will decrease over multiple days.

Some special pets obtained through our kickstarter or special events can have better stats than others of their type (such as a quaint pet with +3 charm).

These are the basics on the pet system in Dappervolk, the Menagerie and Alchemy features will be covered in more detail in the future!
