Biden passed the bill about protecting same sex and interracial marriage!
There's 2 sides to this a positive and a negative
Positive:
This is a really important bill that will mean marriage licenses given out need to be respected regardless of what state you live in. In the event that the Supreme Court knock down Loving v. Virginia or Obergfell v Hodges it will not mean the outright end to gay/ interracial marriage in America!
Negative:
While this is an important bill it is spooky that it had to be passed at all. This bill does not require for states to issue marrige licenses but only preemts the protection of marrige licenses from red states. Meaning if Loving v. Virgina and/or Obergfell v. Hodges were to be removed gay couples and interracial couples in red states would have to go to blue states in order to be issued a marrige license but they would then be able to be in a red state without them being able to not respect it as a valid maririge certificate. It should be obvious then how this is further states rights crap that makes it so gay and interracial couples are safe as long as they live in a blue state. Further meaning if they get shot down and you dont have the money to move or get an out of state wedding then it's damn you're up shit creek. Additionally 40% of the house did not vote in favor and -37% of the senate did not vote in favor.
Conclusion:
Yes this is good but in the "feck why was this needed and feck this actually doesn't do much more than make red states sketch as shit if the Supreme Court keeps taking a long walk of a short cliff" kind of way
