New Hekte Ref Sheet!
another great set of comms from @officialnorthernlion!
New "early game" outfit for Hekte, and as usual, I commissioned @officialnorthernlion to make this wonderful piece! Now his armor doesn't look nearly as refined, as it should be being he's only level 2 right now. A bunch of cobbled together rusty junk, held together by alchemical glue and a prayer.
Also shown is the replacement for his weapon, we initially planned on a gun-halberd thing, but the more I looked at it, the more I realized it was impractical as fuck, so nothing could beat a good old gunsword, a lever action shotgun gunsword that he could probably do the terminator spin trick with.
Took a bit of inspiration from Ned Kelly's homemade armor, as well as windup toys and the idea of the strings contracting/loosening to provide the extra strength.
I'd love to see how you could little-guy-ify my current Pathfinder 2e character, Hekte Detkikin. He collects spoons and hates rich people.
I used to play a Kenku Artificer named Screech (Pronounced “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA”)
A belated valentine from everyone's favorite spoon-loving socialist inventor, courtesy of @missingintentionally.
Behold my pride and joy, Hekte Detkikin, my Tenaevi (Tengu) Inventor + Gunslinger character from the ongoing Pathfinder 2e campaign that @missingintentionally is currently running, all art made by @officialnorthernlion, who is also playing in the campaign. General Bio: Male Mountainkeeper Tenaevi. He/Him. 21 years old. Autistic. Chaotic Good alignment.
Hekte was raised in a rather snobby family of Tenaevi nobles, who he quickly began to cause problems for. Whilst they were more socially and economically conservative, Hekte's general way of thinking, likely due in part to his autism, made him see their views as incompatible with how reality is, and quickly proved to be an ideological outcast within the community. No matter how much they tried to indoctrinate him into their values, he continued to march his mind forward. He spent his nights stealing from garbage and scrap piles to make his inventions and alchemical concoctions, using them to better the lives of those who could not afford to do so otherwise, including those his community deemed "undesirable".
This obviously got him in trouble very, very often. An alchemical accident resulted in some of the feathers on the top his head getting blasted to the point that they would never go back down and smell faintly of gunsmoke (thus why he wears a hood, which are already considered fashionable in Tengu society). The creation of the dreaded "spoon gun" was a milestone for both him and his community's ever dropping patience. Combining his special interests of spoon collecting (yes, just like how old people do) and inventing, he created this abomination of a weapon that turns spoons into a spray of red hot shrapnel. This got him kicked out of the private school-church he was attending for a while.
Hekte's life story suddenly got MUCH more interesting when he was snooping around one night in the attic, and came across a journal. He learned that the "parents" he was raised by were not his real parents, but rather the ones that killed his biological parents whilst he was still an egg, for being much like how he is being now. They exposed the injustices of the elite, and in order to silence them, the elites had them killed. His "parents" eventually found out that he learned the truth and chased him out of town sword in hand, and likely would have killed him if they caught him. Thankfully, by that point Hekte had already prepared for such an event, as he took his "when hell breaks loose" bag and fled out the window as his parents attempted to bust down the door which he had jammed shut with spoons and nails.
He made his way south, towards the town of Severtempt. Settling down in a patch of forest (which he did not know was technically within the city's limits), he made himself a small cabin in which he lived off the land in. As it turns out, being that he was within city limits, he unintentionally committed about a year's worth of tax evasion, and was given the choice of either going to prison or working off the debt at the nearby church, obviously he took the latter option. Thankfully the folks at the church are very nice and have formed good friendships with him.
In his time spent in town, he made a few close friends. Lluvia (a half-Prodoménos [Elf] barbarian woman), Orxeos (an Archine [Strix] Oracle NB), and Korragos (a Tenaevi Fighter man), forming what is now the main party.
Hekte's goals in life are pretty broad spanning. Hekte wishes for the wellbeing of people and nature, prospering as equals, starting with the most downtrodden race, the Tenaevi. He is not opposed to using violence or breaking laws in order to achieve his goals. There are some current matters, however, that seem much more dire and require his attention.
Extra Details:
-Hekte is book smart, but not very knowledgeable about cultural or social aspects of the world, but he wishes to change that, as he as a deep curiosity about cultures, religions, etc. (1 skill flaw in the wisdom stat.)
-He has repeatedly made the mistake of drawing attention to the party when trying to draw the party's attention to something, resulting in some particularly chaotic fights.
-His drone companion doesn't really have a name yet, and is currently referred to as "little buddy".
-His armor is actually power armor, using a series of cables and pullies threaded throughout the joints of the suit. powered by a wound up gearbox in his backpack's upper hard portion to augment his strength and agility.
-Inspirations for his character concept included the abolitionist John Brown, the Grey Knights from Warhammer 40K, and my general love of the steampunk aesthetic and my personal beliefs.
-Is technically a mix between solarpunk and steampunk. His ideology is eco-friendliness focused, but his aesthetic is more more steampunk.
-The spoon collecting special interest idea became a thing because me and @missingintentionally were scrolling through the items list on the virtual tabletop we were using and saw the spoon gun. We decided, on the spot, that he would collect spoons like an old person.
Expect to see me post more about him in the future, as I have big plans for his story and development, even stretching beyond this campaign. I may even share the journal document so ya'll can see an action report of whatever happens in future sessions!
Update; He is pretty much my blorbo at this point. I am literally obsessed with him. Rotating him in my head constantly. The problem with having a character you made be your blorbo is that there is no pre-existing art of em, so I'll definitely be getting more commissions, entering raffles, etc. to get my fix.
"Choose your life", another amazing piece made by @officialnorthernlion, depicting my PF2e character Hekte's dream, in which he finds himself in a ruined church, and is given the choice of passing over a bridge and ring of fire, or staying back to be consumed by a ring of darkness, he chose the former.
He has recently learned that this dream was given to him by Gotolara, the deity of nature's revenge, essentially a deity that protects nature from the greedy, those who seek to take from its riches endlessly and deplete its bounty. The person that Hekte learned this from says that he should answer this call sooner than later, by immersing himself in nature. There will likely be much that this ties into as the campaign continues on, and I look forward to seeing what @missingintentionally is cooking up.

Update 6/26/2023: Swapped in updated sheet, needed to be cut into two images because the file was too big otherwise.
