louisiana-wolfâ:
Qhuinn hung on Conallâs words like the life raft that they were to her, leaning her cheek into his hand. Every time he touched her, it both felt like the first time and that she had been feeling the brush of his hand on her skin all of her life. âI know. I just..I still feel terrible. You must have been so scared too when I wasnât there that morning. But maybe..I think that I needed that time, you know? I needed to know who I was, by myself. I needed to be worthy of a man like you. Even though that will never happenâ She laughed shakily, kissing his palm. âYes..we will. No looking back anymoreâ She nodded.
The wolf had been so absorbed in her dessert that she didnât even notice that she had nearly gone full orgasmic over it until she heard Conallâs low voice and chuckle. Closing her eyes, she let his words in that sexy accent wash over her. And thanked her stars that no one seemed to be paying attention to her, because when she opened her eyes, they had turned ice blue with desire. âHmm..maybe itâs you that canât handle meâ She teased back.
Giggling, Qhuinn went back to the dessert, forking up a bite for Conall this time. When she lifted her gaze to him once again she froze, the fork frozen in midair as she saw what he had placed on the table. Her mouth formed a small âOâ but no sound came out, as her round eyes fixed on his face. Until the sparkle of the ring drew her peepers downwards and yeah.. She may have been a simple, unfussy type of girl, but damn if she didnât pop a lady boner over all that bling. The ring was gorgeous without being overdone, just the kind of thing that she would have picked for herself. But itâs beauty didnât hold a candle to Conallâs words. Even though they had just met and for all intents and purposes were strangers, but call it wolf instinct, Qhuinn knew that there was only one answer that she could give.
âYesâŠâ She breathed out, more tears trembling at her lashes. âThis is crazy, and Iâm waiting to wake up any minute. And I know that we still need to know each other, and do this right, but yes! Iâm yours Conall. I always have been and always will be..â
Conallâs eye went wide when she said yes right away. He couldnât believe that she was so quick to answer. He was ecstatic about it, but shocked, none-the-less. âYer sure,â he asked for confirmation. âThis is whaâ ye wanâ, Wee Wolf.â He knew it was what he wanted, but he wanted her to be certain beyond any doubt. âYe ken thaâ as wolves we have a long time tâgether. Hundreds oâ years. Can ye puâ up wiâ this old wolf thaâ long,â he asked with a chuckle. He knew he would do everything in his power to make her happy and take care of her. His protection over her would know no boundaries. If anyone, ever, tried to hurt her in word or deed, he knew he would rip them apart.
Before she had a chance to answer him, he got up from his chair, took the ring from the box and kneeled before her right there in the restaurant. He didnât care how many people were there. As far as he was concerned, they were the only two in the place. He took her hand and gently slid the ring on her ring finger. Then as he stood, he pulled her up to him and put his arms around her and gave her a soft, gentle kiss. Not taking his eyes off her, he smiled and said,â Youâve just made me the happiest manwolf alive. We have a wedding to plan.â He chuckled.
The people in the restaurant took notice of them at some point and everyoneâs attention was glued on the couple. When he kissed her, everyone around them burst into spontaneous applause, and Conall, in his every so smooth manner, took a bow for the crowd and then he point to Qhuinn and egged her on to bow, too. All the while he was chuckling like a teenager in love.
