Uh, well...
Took a bit of an unplanned hiatus. I am gonna try to get back into the swing of things, gonna go through my mentions and see all the tag games I am sure @theboardwalkbody tagged me in. Rambly explainer as to why I have been gone under the cut.
So the first thing that knocked me on my ass was things going wrong with the car. Thankfully mostly cosmetic things, namely the cover that goes over the running board on the driver's side cracking off. That was an expensive piece, $700 or so out the door for that one. Thankfully someone helped out with that. Then mom's check for march was $500 short. We apparently missed the review paperwork for some reason (guessing funky stuff bc we moved twice in a year), and we STILL haven't gotten it back. I have been doing surveys (paidviewpoint and prolific, and paidviewpoint was good for a bit but it's really slowed down here and was slower to build up money even when i was getting surveys more frequently, but prolific has been consistent and I have made enough to put a dent in what we're missing, at least this far) so that's helping. I have applied for a program that will pay me some for the work I do caring for mom. Between that and surveys we should be more than okay. I am hoping that whatever back-end hell is going on with the original money we were getting is cleared up at some point, but who knows. The big thing though is that in late April mom was diagnosed with cancer. They couldn't operate on the tumor, and the docs say it's an aggressive form of it. They started her on chemo right away, and are hoping they caught it early enough the chemo will be able to work on it, but it's up in the air. She had her first round of chemo a couple weeks ago, and will have her second next monday, tuesday, and wednesday. Around the 10th or so, we're going to go stay a few nights in the town we just moved from. We want to visit with a few people, and we are going to sell some of mom's things on a garage sale that my aunt is having. She is wanting to sell her house and move up here to our town, but she'll be getting her own place. Possibly even our old trailer. We sold it to a guy, but he has not put the title in his own name yet (and this was last september, mind you), and we have initiated the formal processes where we are giving him the allotted time to correct it, or ownership reverts back to us legally. If we end up with the trailer we will sell it to my aunt. If not we'll help her find a place that makes sense for her. So yeah, that's what's been going on in my life. There were times that I was feeling really really bad in the past few months, but between my amazing support system and just having the time to process things and make the whole money situation a bit better to where it's not totally killing us has helped a ton.
