It’s never a quiet day anymore─ it hasn’t been for years. Shade’s come to accept that, for the most part; it comes with the job and it comes with war. There’s not a lot to be done about it, short of stopping the war entirely, but considering the sheer, raw power hiding behind the enemy’s lines, that’s not an option for the foreseeable future. Monsters are one thing. The Black Mage’s commanders are another, and the Black Mage himself…
Shade’s not too thrilled with his, ah… progress. It’s been a slow grind, a dull and almost mindless sort of training, and it’s tedious at best. He may have let himself slip a bit recently, in fact─ his work has taken up all of his time recently, and he hasn’t allotted time to hone his skills so much. He knows it might come back to bite him, but─
That thought stops dead when he sees her and his blood runs cold, and he assumes for a moment that he’s mistaken someone else for the shamaness, but the longer he watches her, the more certain he becomes.
He’s torn between fighting her and slinking away. She’s no pushover; she’s a hell of a threat─ and, uh, he’s alone. He’s not too keen on engaging her right now… but, for some inexplicable reason, something in his mind stops him from just leaving.
The more that the other Commander’s seemed to fall like a line of dominoes the more that Hilla seemed to be getting the awkward tasks that would have fallen to the low standing members of the Black Wings. If only she could send her armies to do these pedantic tasks instead but, they were hardly worth the hassle of figuring out how to transport them without making yet another odd improvement to their abilities to roam.
So instead, the redhead with a roll of her eyes continued the exceptionally beneath her task of cleaning up a few loose ends and people who saw a bit too much more than they needed to.
Today’s ‘hitlist’ seemed to mainly involve Arkarium’s screw up in Magatia when he failed to even acquire a damned book, why did they keep him around again? Ah well, a bit of fire tended to do just fine.
What wasn’t expected was, well, what even was his name? Bah, she didn’t really care, he hardly posed a threat at all ever since Freud ever so willingly went off and died finally.
The woman huffed, turning to face the dark haired man and leaning up against her staff that the bottom of which was balanced atop the ground. “We really have to stop meeting like this.” Then again, the Heroes failing to stop her in time was beneficial- though she would prefer to cease seeing them entirely.
