The other night as I was falling asleep I had an idea to do a piece of a ship on a stormy sea being attacked by a sea monster with an angler fish head... So here it is!
Piece I made inspired by the children's book Angelina Ballerina. I loved these books as a kid and it fostered my still-existent love of ballet!
Was longing for Halloween last night so I decided to do a spooky piece! I love the movie The Ritual and was intrigued by the monster in it but decided to make a creature more like the Wendigo. This one took a long time but I'm really happy with it!
Made this original piece called "Space Sloth" today! I was inspired my 1960s space era art and my favorite animal, the sloth!
Decided to jump on the bandwagon and make a Bernie in mittens piece! I have seen this meme EVERYWHERE recently and Iove them!
Finally got around to watching The Mandalorian, and I'm in love! Grogu is my love 💕 So I decided to make this piece. I can honestly that making beskar armor in paper is no easy feat!
I made a family portrait of my little family! Excited to put it on my desk at the new job I just started!
Piece I made based off of alebrijes! Alebrijes are sculptures common in Mexican folk art and are colorful and fantastical creatures. In Disney's Coco, alebrijes act as spirit guides!
Another Pokemon piece! This one I made for my husband, who has been a huge fan his whole life. Not sure if anyone is familiar with Saint Louis but the background is meant to be the World's Fair Pavilion in Forest Park!
Piece I made based on the beautiful game Abzu!
Piece I made of my favorite parrots! Indian Ringnecks are such great birds, they are so funny and have great personalities!
Cockatoo piece I made! I love these birds and have always been amazed by all of the different types there are!
Piece I made for my friend's daughter! She had a hedgehog named Kiwi who she is obsessed with so I decided to include her :)
Did a piece of my Animal Crossing island! This game has been so life-saving this year and brings me immense joy. I added all of my beloved landmarks, such as the Waterfall Bakery, Gulliver's Garden and Crank Frank's dock! After the new year I may open myself to commissions to recreate other people's islands if anyone is interested!
My first map piece that I made for my dad, who lives in New Mexico! I've been there to visit a few times and have always been amazed by the beautiful landscapes and the wildlife. I definitely have things to improve on if I make another map piece, but I think this was a good starting point.
The first personal piece I've ever made. I made this one for my mom for Hannukah in honor of my great grandmother, who we used to call Grandma Sugar. She passed away when I was 11 so I don't remember her super well but what I do remember is that she was the kindest and most loving person I ever knew. She especially loved animals. She always had a cat who was always named Mickey and whenever she left the house she kept peanuts in her coat pockets so that she could feed the local squirrels. She, her husband and my grandmother moved to NYC during WWII from Austria to escape the Nazis. She and my great grandfather owned a bakery in Queens. She was a remarkable person and I am so glad I got to make this piece in honor! (The photo underneath is an actual picture of her that I used for reference!)
Newest piece for my Ode to Literature series! Based off of the classic children's book "Madeline" by Ludwig Bemelmans. This one took a lot of patience and focus but I am happy with the result.
