180901 - WANNA ONE | One: The World in Manila
It’s crazy that this is what I’m posting about after six months of inactivity on this blog. From ticketing to event day, this whole experience was crazy and I still can’t believe it happened.
When the concert was announced I was so worried that I wouldn’t get tickets and it’s funny how at the end, I got them for free. I only found out two days before the concert that my seats got upgraded from General Admission to Lower Box located in the center of the arena, probably the best view of the stage. Luck is on my side this year, that’s for sure.
The energy in the arena was amazing with Wannables singing along to the songs. On my part, I wasn’t able to take good videos of the performances because I was cheering and singing along to songs I knew the lyrics to. The first three songs — Burn It Up, Never, and Energetic — got everyone hyped up for the show. It was just the beginning but I thought I was going to lose my voice from all the screaming.
I was already emotional for the most part but when Pick Me came on I lost it. I brought out my Produce 101 lightstick and the memories from last year came back. I was just so happy that I was able to cheer for them after dedicating a lot of my time watching the show.
Some thoughts on and observations about the members: It’s been a year since I last saw Kang Daniel and he still looks as good or even better! Jihoon did his signature “nae maeum soge jeojang!” even though he looked like he really didn’t want to do it since we know he’s over it already. Still, he was so cute! Daehwi, my original PD101 pick, is so sweet and cute! I really appreciate him doing all the translating for the members and him giving it all when it comes to aegyo. Kim Jaehwan has flawless skin and his voice is really powerful. Woojin has a lot of swag and I loved his Kangaroo performance with Jaehwan and Daniel, they looked so cool. It’s true that Lai Guan Lin is so tall and handsome and I just feel so proud about how much he has improved since the show. Jisung is good-looking in person and his face looks so sweet especially when he smiles. Hwang Minhyun is one of those people who look unreal because of how beautiful he is. I see why he was chosen as the visual of the group. Bae Jinyoung is reserved and doesn’t speak much and he looks as good on tv as in real life. Sungwoon is really cute as expected and he sings with emotion, which I really admire.
Finally, I am beyond happy to have finally seen Ong Seongwoo, the main reason for the existence of this blog. I couldn’t stop staring at him especially when he comes up on the big screen. He is so charming and very very good-looking. He’s always running around being his crazy self and it’s so funny to watch him interact with other members. I’m so grateful that I was able to hear him sing Sandglass with Daehwi which was one of my favorite performances of the night. I hope this won’t be the last time I see him. Hopefully next time it will be up close.
I am one lucky fan to have gone to their last overseas concert. I’m forever grateful for all that has happened to make this possible. Let’s enjoy the rest of the year and treasure these moments while the members are all together! ❤️

One more thing: The night before the concert, I made a sign board with Seongwoo’s name on it in reflective gold foil because I wanted it to be visible from the stage. I like to believe that Seongwoo saw it when he was sitting at the edge of the stage during Always. When he looked up at our section I waved my board enthusiastically and I saw him wave back! I could be wrong but I like to believe that’s what happened, and I got nothing that disproves it 😂
