01. ADAM / W. CONNIE
adam groaned dramatically, throwing his head back. “right, okay. whatever,” he sighed. anyone who knew adam knew he was not a patient person and found himself only complaining loudly when he got tired or bored. “as long as you stay with me in the line. please? the last thing i want to do is stand around alone,”
connie's smile only grew on her face at his complaining, free hand patting his arm as he spoke. " i'll try my best to, though it'll require you owing me a favor, " she teased, " being a bit needy, are we ? i kinda like it, if i'm being honest. i might just have to bring you around long lines more now. "

while the view poolside was spectacular , evie hardly dedicated her life to STILL moments like this . she preferred anything && everything to drown out her even LOUDER thoughts , so she was relieved when connie agreed … well , it was connie , so of course she did . “ have i told you how much i L O V E your dad ?? ” she grinned as she stood up from the pool . “ but that love only goes so far ; he isn’t the one that’s going to be doing shots with me at 75 main . ”
" honestly, i have NO idea - but please don't let me know, " she said, wrinkling her nose up as she hopped up from the side of the pool. holding a hand out for the younger girl, connie helped her up before picking up a nearby towel to dry her legs off. " well, by all means, we'll make him wish he was the one doing shots at 75 main. " --- an hour later, connie was heading down to the car waiting out front for them in a s p a r k l i n g dress and a bright smile across her face. " if i didn't tell you already, i adore you and your ideas - i've been wanting to wear this dress, yet never can get the occasion to. "

“oh god connie you are terrible, but karma is a real bitch too and nope, never get to catfished someone, but some girl back on swiss was trying to pass as me to get with a boy. however, she was pretty dumb since we all went to the same school, it became pretty obvious when the dude took me out and not her — again, karma is a bitch. oh no, i can’t go and have online date, i can barely keep on my own social media ever since dad thought is not a smart move to share life on the internet.”
" how stupid can some people be ? like at least use a girl that you have no idea who they are, that's the whole point of catfishing. though now you've just made it my goal to be used as a catfish for someone, just think of it. honestly, too, now i see girls willingly post pictures for others to use - it could be a business. karma might be a bitch, but i'm bitchy...er. dad's no nothing, i tell you. how are we supposed to show our poshy lifes if we can't publish it online ? doesn't he know that nowadays if it's not posted on the internet, it didn't happen ? a s i g h escaped , only to be followed by another seconds later . this sigh was LOUDER than the first — for you see the point was not to merely express her exasperation but to CATCH the other’s attention . “ i’m B O R E D , ” the statement was practically another sigh in itself . she sounded so dejected . “ you know what we should do …? ” who was she kidding ? it wasn’t even a question . it was a proposal for them BOTH because of course she was going to d r a g someone else along with her . doing things alone was a bore . “ let’s go for a drink . ”
connie was relaxed, feet dipped in the pool with the moon shining overhead. she was leaning back on her elbows, trying hard to a v o i d the other girl's sighs for attention. she knew EXACTLY what she was doing, but connie figured she had a few more moments before her peace was disturbed. and there it was. " that's fine by me, babe, you know that, " she replied after a minute, sitting up to look at the other. " i'm always down for a drink, so where to ? it'll be dad's treat, "
01. ELENA / W. CONNIE
pursed, pouty lips remained on the brunette’s face, her elbow propping her head up as her palm rested on her chin. ‘ i’m so sad. ’ she started speaking low. ‘ the country club got rid of the fried macaroni balls. what am I supposed to do ? eat the crab ones ? this is terrible. ’ the overly dramatic words left her even-more dramatic brims.
the girl's knees are pulled up to her chest, hands holding her phone out in front of her as she scrolled through her social media feeds and half listened to the other's words. " mmm, tragic, " she muttered, " google places with macaroni balls, for crying out loud. get them delivered. want me to do that for you ? "
01. ADAM / W. CONNIE
with a roll of his eyes, the male quickly walked passed her into the cafe, muttering a short and clearly sarcastic ‘you’re hilarious’ in the meantime. “or,” he swung back to face her, his eyebrows raising upwards immediately. “i could go sit over there in the corner, and you could stand in line to get me a little something. tea will do fine, little milk, please and thank you,”
she quickly shook her head back and forth, arm wrapping around his own as she pulled the both of them towards the line. " oh don't you even start, " she spoke, eyes rolling at his offer. " we are here because you wanted the drinks, you're not leaving me stranded in the line. not very gentleman of you, no ? " if anything, she'd be the one escaping to the corner and avoiding the line if that's how it was going to be.
01. ZARIYA / W. CONNIE
a boisterous laugh escaped her lips at the mention of ‘natural beauty’. “there’s a time and place for natural beauty. this isn’t it, darling,” she retorted, eyeing the other. she unclasped the oval of highlighter and dusted a light coating over the focal points. “well, better to show up late than not at all, no?” she questioned, setting her makeup one last time and admiring her work in the mirror. she rose to her feet and strolled to the longer mirror to examine herself, completely made up. “i’m fully aware cameras capture all the details. which is why i suggest you do something about those wrinkles around your nose. twenty one and already showing signs of early aging? tsk, tsk,” she chuckled. she adjusted some curls and smoothed out the crinkles in her gown before turning to retrieve her purse. “and i’d rather not be seen with the daughter of satan but well…we can’t always be lucky, can we?” she spat, rolling her eyes as she snatched her purse.
" mm, sure. guess if you can't do it right, it isn't. and i hope it is, my mother always says that the latest you should be is never over an hour - yet here we are, " her words were tense, not knowing why she even bothered with the girl in front of her. connie actually knew the reasons why she spent her summer stuck up with zariya, though she did her upmost best to hate it. her parents were out to get her with the people they set her up with, she just knew it. quickly pulling out a hand mirror to examine her nose, she glared up at the girl before shoving it back in her handbag. " whatever. if anything, it's the company i've been B L E S S E D with that's causing it, " she was worked up, she knew the other girl could probably feel it radiating off of her. connie wasn't one to knock down another's appearance yet she pulled out all the stops with zariya, them cutting each other down with their words. she was shocked at the laugh she made at the other's comment, almost choking on it as it came out. " please, you should be honored. everyone secretly likes to take a walk with hell everyone once in a while, " she spoke, not waiting for the other as she made her way back out again through the house. the car that was in front of the house had probably been sitting for a good while, a flash of smile at the driver graced connie's face as she slipped into the backseat. " about time. if this is how this night's going to go, i need as much champagne as i can get my hands on. "
01. MAX / W. CONNIE
leaning back in his chair with his hands behind his head, max asked, “yanno’, what ? i don’t get zodiac signs. i’m not even quite sure what mine is. but, imagine not dating someone just because our signs aren’t compatible.” max laughed at the thought of him turning down a girl at a bar only because she was a gemini. “also, how can it tell me how my day will go because i was born on a certain day ? it’s bullshit. i’m telling you !”
" so who's the girl that turned you down because of your sign ? " she joked, eyebrow turned up on her face as she smiled. " and did you happen to get her number before ? cause i'd love to have a new friend. " her tone was teasing, though she could see the point he was trying to make. six years ago she was obsessed with star signs, knowing that the scorpio fit her to a tee herself with her attitude - or gave her a lot of inspiration for it. she laughed, " chill out, dude. it's all fun and games, anyways. so what's your sign ? "

01. ZARIYA / W. CONNIE
zari was a fairly level-headed girl. she was very slow to anger, but something about the blonde never sat right with her. the click of her heels grew closer and closer but she focused on the last touches of her eyes. it wasn’t until the room filled with silence that her gaze met the others. she looked up, giving the girl a smug smile. “and i realize it doesn’t take you long at all. at what point did you decide that even the most expensive products couldn’t help you? if you choose not to put effort into your look, then so be it darling, but putting down another woman for enhancing the beauty that already was? i don’t think daddy would be very happy with you,” she teased, chuckling lighty and returning her attention to the mirror. more words spewed out of the other’s mouth. “you realize standing here, distracting me, is only taking up more time, correct?” the girl questioned, dusting powder around her face. “who said i was trying to impress someone?” zari questioned, confused. “i’ve been to enough events to know that the cameras are always on you, regardless. take that into consideration the next time you feel the need to rush my makeup process, love,” she glared.
" daddy'll get over it, " her tone raised slightly, a sickly sweet smile plastering itself onto her lips. despite herself knowing that she already looked good, connie caught herself glancing in the mirror at her reflection. a simple black dress, heels with a red bottom, the most that was coating her face was a thick layer of mascara. connie inwardly smiled to herself, knowing that she might could've spent the three hours the other girl was approaching on to make herself look presentable - but she didn't need it. the whitmore women were a class act, their elegance and pride not calling for much else to go along with it. " i'm terribly sorry that you feel like you can't pull off the natural look, some people just aren't blessed with that ability, " she spoke, not feeling the least bit ashamed of her words directed towards the other's looks. she took a seat on the bench that was pushed up against the wall in their room, crossing her feet. " my bad to think that all this effort was an attempt to impress. anyways, you've already taken up enough time as it is. i don't figure another hour late to the party will be anything at this point, " she continued, " and cameras show all the fine details, so maybe be a bit careful with the caking that's going to form up on your face if you keep on. i don't want to be seen with a clown. "

“I just had the most productive afternoon where I spent watching a marathon of catfish, and let’s now talk about it — like, really guys? really? When did one thought that dating online was a good thing? I mean yeah, it can happen, but there are so many red alerts when you are being fooled. I won’t even start by the dude who firmly believed he was talking with Katy fucking Perry – I mean — no, just no.”
" real talk though, have you ever catfished someone ? me and my friends did back when myspace was a thing, some boy one of them had a crush on. just sizing him up, right ? turns out, it was his little brother catfishing as him too. ridiculous. i definitely wouldn't believe that i was talking to any celebrity, but some people on that show seem pretty convincing. i can't wait until we live in a world where online dating is the only thing, cause we're all stuck up our electronics anyways. "
01. ADAM / W. CONNIE
“good lord,” the brunette muttered lowly to himself, standing outside the window of the first cafe he’d came across in a while, lowering his glasses and eyeing the long, long queue of people inside awaiting their orders. “perhaps i just cut the line? show them who i am? my wallet, more like. i shouldn’t have to wait with those of….how do you say? below my paygrade?”
connie stopped herself from opening the door to the cafe, hand on the handle as she rolled her eyes at the boy. despite it, though, her face lit up with a smile as she turned to him. " d e f i n i t e l y what you should do, brillant idea, " she spoke, opening the door back up. " and as you get your ass kicked by some hardheaded new yorkers, I will skip the line and order myself some tea. maybe a muffin, too. would you like anything ? ice for a future black eye ? "
