Today i walked in on my landlord talking to a contractor about when they're gonna rip out all this original 1970s tile for fucking linoleum bc she thinks its ugly. The tile is even more vibrant and yellow in person. Genuinely so sad, I cant wait to live somewhere where i dont constantly see renovations destroying my surroundings. Half the backyard is gone and turned into a massive shed, the turquoise oven has been ripped out for a plain silver one, and she never tells us its gonna happen. Anyways theres no point here I'm just angry and tired of being in this house for so many reasons.

Im so tired of white people writing fictional slave stories, fantasy genre slaves, sci-fi slaves, etc, as if they have literally any idea wtf they're talking about. its always just inspiration porn or worse- trauma porn, about a topic they didn't bother to research in any way. These ppl are actually just sitting down and like Imagining what they think slavery is like. Even when it's apparent they did research it they somehow think it's appropriate to do shit like make the "slave race" hideous monsters or stunningly beautiful creatures bc physical appearance= sympathy. Literally begging fellow white writers to shut up, like its not rly our story to tell, or at least read actual fictional stories and real accounts of slavery by black people first. I feel like im losing my mind
