Iyashikei (癒し系)

My collection of Japanese literature. Iyashikei literally means a healing or soothing quality, which is a common theme I have come to notice in Japanese lit. Tea, books, rainy afternoons, warm meals, and unhurried days, which seem so mundane to us in our everyday lives, suddenly seem to hold a larger value in Japanese lit— just as they should.

finished reading Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors. I need to be honest, this book leaves you with a lingering warmth, almost like an embrace. I do not read modern fiction as much but this was absolutely worth it.

Italian spread day. we ordered a chicken lasagna, a classic farmhouse margherita and roasted chicken legs. and a chocolate dome for dessert.

P.s/: felt guilty after eating such an extravagant lunch, so finished it off with a simple crouton-vegetable salad :)

woke up two hours early on a weekend just to read. I repeat JUST TO READ. I also have my cup of tea with it while sitting in the balcony on a relatively cold morning. I might also run to buy some books in a cutesy bookstore after some time. And I do not have any work meetings or commitments today. Life is worth living
