trans masc erasure in gender scholarship when i took a 400 level class on transgender studies and not a single case study or biography was centered around a trans masc view point. and i felt such shame calling out the professor on this, because it felt like in order to uplift my brothers i had to take away from my sisters. that should not be the case.

we can keep doing this all day but the reality of the world is that very few people don’t face any kind of oppression at all and everyone exists in a complicated, intersecting web where they have privileges over some people in some contexts and some others are have privilege over them in other contexts. no one individual is incapable of enacting oppression and if you think that about yourself you need to go away and interrogate that belief.

Agreed! Identity isn't even the true purpose of oppression, ultimately it comes down to methods of slicing the population down into smaller and smaller categories, and those with resources pitting them against eachother so the oppressed don't demand those resources.

We need collective solidarity of all oppressed identities, and the most all-encompassing discrimination the 99% can relate to is class. That isn't to say class is more important then identity, but it's definitely a good start to bring us together.

The first step to creating a world where everyone is equal is looking where most of the resources are being pooled and questioning why that is.
