(Another update! This one is 2.9k words long so I hope you enjoy it š
Don't forgot to like and share! That would help me get more people who enjoyed the content of our lovely Daddy Eric :))
Shouts and laughter fill the air. All the factions look at us as we run, some stares annoyed and some jealous. I feel my skin tingling with anticipation, and my mouth curves into a smile.
Without thinking I laugh. I laugh about the sensation that floods through my blood and runs harder. Some dauntless member joins me and laughs with me. One of my sandals falls off, but I don't care and throw the other one away. Not like need it anymore. Reyes runs up to me, his face full of happiness and freedom.
But I stop smiling when I hear a train horn. I look up and see that people climbed up for the train. Reyes sees it too and nods at me. "Ready, Angie?"
I wink at him and together we sprint away. My longs are burning and my chest is heavy, but I keep on running until I grab the metal bar and start climbing. I feel myself slip, and scratch my leg on something.
I curse loudly but push myself up to see the train coming.
One girl from Abnegation has a hard time, her cheeks are red and she is breathing loudly.
"Hey stiff! Grab my hand!" I yell at her. She grabs it and I pull her up just in time. Reyes is helping another from Abnegation and together we run to jump sideways into the train.
The girl from abnegation stares up at me as I try to help her and gives me a thankful look. "Thank you." I give her a soft smile. "No worries. My name is Angel, but call me Angie."
"I'm Beatrice, nice to meet you."
I stand up and see one boy from Erudite who didn't make it. Some sadly fail before they even get onto the train. I walk up to Reyes and see him talking to someone from Abnegation.
"Angie! This is Hailey. Hailey, this is my best friend, Angie!"
The girl has red hair and a soft face. She smiles up at me and I give her one in return. "Glad you made it, Hailey."
Her smile widens while a blush covers her cheeks. "Thank you."
In the corner of my eye, I see Reyes looking at her, and when he sees me looking he quickly looks away and pretends to look at his nails. I roll my eyes and look back at Hailey, who looks down. I think she has a hard time talking to strangers, so I cough which made her lookup.
"Would you like to be bed buddies?"
Her eyes widen and again her cheeks are flared with red of surprise. Reyes wanted to open his mouth, but I hush him. "Bed buddies?"
"Yeah," I grin. "That means that we sleep next to each other."
She looks very surprised and stares up at Reyes, who gave him the same grin. A boy from Candor huffs, his eyes rolling sarcastically.
"You better stop, plant eaters, no one is interested in your needs."
"And no one is interested in your sad and lonely way of life, Candor," Hailey muttered softly but everyone heard her. The whole train roared with laughter and even I had to bite my tongue. Hailey cracked a smile but stopped as Candor tried to come closer.
"You better watch your tongueā"
It was Reyes who spoke. He stepped in front of Hailey. The boy had to crack his neck to look at Reyes. He was at least 6,6 feet and the Candor boy nearly touched his shoulders. Candor tried to act though but we all knew that he couldn't beat Reyes. Especially now.
Reyes spoke through clenched teeth.
The candor boy sneered "whatever" and went back to talking with some random dude from Erudite.
"That's what I thought." Growled Reyes and he stared back at Hailey. His face changed and he smiled, back to his normal self.
The boy was always sunshine and rainbows, and he could laugh with everyone. But once you made him pissed it was like a bomb went off inside him and he would spitfire.
Especially for the people he likes.
I stare at the two of them who laughed like they are old friends. A pang of jealousy went through me, but it was quickly replaced with fondness. It was a good thing to start friendships, and Reyes is very good at making people laugh.
I quickly jump up as someone from Erudite comments on jumping. I watch as all the dauntless born jump with smiles and howls.
Panic flashes on my face and my throat are dry from anxiety. Reyes noticed my face and grabs my hand and Hailey. "On one, we jump!"
I nod frantic and stare outside. Everything around me slows down as Reyes counts. Hailey tries to pull back but once Reyes counts to one, he pulls off with him and we jump.
I didn't even blink or closed my eyes. Everything flashed by as the rooftop comes closer. The world stops spinning and I look up to see the last of sunlight through the windows. It's a beautiful orange and a few trust forms in my heart.
Once my knees touch the rooftop I look up and stare up.
I turn around to watch the others. Reyes is laughing and Hailey has a frightened but softly smile on her face. Eventually, she too chuckles while her breathing slowly calms down.
Next to me are Beatrice and a Candor girl. Both are laughing and looking at Stiff's scratched knees.
We hear a scream. I turn around to find the source and find a dauntless girl sobbing.
I want to look over the edge but Reyes stopped me. "You don't want to see that." That was all he said before getting up. I stand up as well and walk to the group.
At the end of the roof stands a man. He has piercings on his face as well as his ears, his neck is tattooed and he has a serious look on his face.
"Listen up! My name is Eric and I am one of the leaders of your new faction!"
The leader has a sharp face with piercings. His hair is perfectly slicked back and has a wolfish smirk on his face. Even though he looks smug, his eyes are a stormy silver and checking everyone out. Once his eyes are set on me his eyebrows raise a little.
"Probably didn't expect an amity to show up."
He keeps staring at me and his eyes wandering to my outfit. After that he shows me a little smirk and calls the group together. Reyes walks up to me with raised eyebrows. He stares at Eric and then to me. "What was that?"
"I don't know, just leave it."
Reyes' shoulders shake as he's trying to hold his laughter and I push him away. "Asshole." I mutter and he cracks up.
"You want us to jump off a ledge?"
"Do you want to be Dauntless or not?"
He answered with a hint of annoyance.
"Is there water at the bottom or something?" A boy from Erudite asked.
"Who knows." He raised one eyebrow.
When no one came, he sighed loudly and asked us again. Beatrice eventually walks up to him and stands at the edge and seconds later she jumps. We didn't hear anything, not even a cry or a scream. Eric turns to look back at us with a devious smirk. "So who's next?"
Everyone jumps off, and when it's Reyes' turn, he turns around with his middle fingers up and lets himself fall. Most people laughed and I shake my head with a snort. The faction leader, Eric, looked at me for a brief second before he turned away. I didn't even acknowledge him, I wasn't in the mood to have a discussion. When it was Hailey's turn I walked up to her with a smile. She was hesitating and looking down.
"Now, stiff," Eric commented with irritation. I send him a glare that surprised him.
"Hailey.." she looked up and her eyes are moist. "Angel... I can't." She whispered. I gave her a reassuring smile. "Save me a bed as you go down, okay? Preferably closest to a wall."
She got the message I'm trying to give and nods. "You are brave." I mouthed to her.
Hailey closed her eyes and let herself drop. I can hear a squeal of surprise and then an "I did it!" Now I was the only one standing on the rooftop, and suddenly I felt nauseous. I didn't even dare to look at Eric who's eyes stare directly at me.
"Just jump already, initiate. Don't make me push you."
I glared at his way again and sneered.
His eyebrows shot up and for a quick second, I saw the excitement in his eyes. But it quickly changed to irritation.
I stared back, not even blinking.
"I don't know, sir, is it?"
His grey eyes are filling with rage as he walks up to me with his fists balled. When he stands in front of me I have to look up. He is way taller than me and quite ripped now that he is a little closer. He looks down and the fire in his eyes is burning.
"Stop being a pest and jump, Initiate. I won't repeat myself."
We stared for a couple of minutes until I decided he wasn't going to back down.
"Fine, fine! But only because I want to and I'm hungry."
Before he could grab me I jumped and laughed when his face became a little dot. The air danced around me and smacked my hair on my face. It was short and I felt the net under me. Someone pushed the tent a little lower and I felt into his arms with a 'Woah!'
It was a tall man with a dark skin tone and very blue eyes. He gave me a little smile and asked for my name.
"Well, Angel, if you want you can have a new name." He suggested.
I hesitated a little but looked up with determination. "Call me Angie please."
"Alright. Last jumper; Angie!"
The crowd clapped for me and the man lifted me to put me on the ground.
We walk down the corridor where Four -one of our instructors- leads us to show us the Pit. The girl from Candor snickers and softly whispers.
Four abruptly stops and turns around to face her.
"What's your name?" He asked quietly.
"Christina." She squeaks.
"Well, Christina, if I wanted to put up with Candor smart-mouths, I would have joined their faction," he hisses.
"The first lesson you will learn from me is to keep your mouth shut. Got that?"
She quickly nods her head in fear.
He shows us the rooms where we will be staying and tells us to get dressed so that we can eat. Boys and girls are mixed and the showers have no privacy or whatsoever. Reyes, Hailey, and I run to the beds that are in a corner and all our new stuff lies on them. I realized I have to undress in front of them and anxiety creeps inside my head. Reyes noticed my face and walks up to me. "Get the bed in the corner. So I can cover you." Reyes whispers to me. I send him a thankful look and quickly take his bed.
Hurriedly I switch from Amity to Dauntless, but I stop as I hear something fall on the ground. I pick it up and remembers that my mom gave me something. It's a necklace with a butterfly. I smile and one lonely tear falls.
"Thank you, mom," I whisper and kiss the necklace. Since I don't know if we can have it, I bury it under my pillow and join the rest.
We all had to throw our old clothes away into a fire and watch how it burned slowly, reminding us that we are now Dauntless. Four leads us to the pit, a dining hall full of people and clattering silverware. When we walk in, they stand up and applaud us. They stamp their feet and they shout. I felt welcome here and based on the looks of everyone, they felt the same thing.
We grab our plates and head over to an almost empty seat, except for one person.
Great, just what I needed. Reyes sat before him and Hailey went to sit next Reyes, so I was forced to sit next to him. She looked up and her face pales as she sees what's happening. Her eyes are guilty, but I give her a wink and let my plate drop. The man didn't even acknowledge us and continued to eat. As I sat down, I forgot how broad Eric was and bumped my leg against his. I could feel the muscles in his leg and I jumped with his warmth invades my cold body.
I saw the muscles in his neck tension and for a second I thought he was gonna snarl at me. But he remains calm and gives himself more space by further opening his legs.
I felt my cheeks getting red as I looked under the table and quickly grabbed something to eat to not look uncomfortable. I saw him looking at me in the corner of his eyes, and his lip twitched.
ā"that's a hamburger, Hailey. Never had that before?"
"Stiffs only eat plain food. Extravagance is considered self-indulgent and unnecessary." A voice suddenly snaps. We all look at Eric who decided to speak up. Reyes didn't felt the tension like I felt and opens his mouth. "How do you know?" The Dauntless leader smirks mischievous and it made Hailey look away. "I read, initiate. Ever heard of that?" My friend wanted to reply with a snarky comment, but I kicked him under the table. 'Shut up' I mouthed with wide eyes. He rolls his eyes and puts his attention on Hailey and starts asking her a million questions about their food system.Ā
"Initiate. Would you please be kind enough and fuck off with your leg? It's quite bothering me." Eric asked me a couple of minutes later. I grunted and continued to eat. "Why? Does a femaleĀ leg bothers you that much?" I replied in the same tone as him. Bored.
I feel him shift under the table and tries to dominate my place, but I plant my leg firmly on the ground. His face slightly turns and again the fire was back in his eyes, mixed with.. mischief?
"Oh trust me, a female leg does not bother me. As in matter of fact, I love them. Especially in different positions." My cheeks glow up with a deep tone of red as he looked me dead in the eyes while he spoke. A sudden rush of arousal flows into my body, but it was gone when his glare came back. "But not yours. Now, initiate. Move."
His voice was so demanding that it should make me tremble. But it didn't and that scared me. I wasn't easily scared or frightened. So, I looked him dead in the eye while taking a bite of my burger.
Now his eyes turned almost black, or at least to a very deep blue. Like navy blue. His nostrils flare in anger and I see the muscles in his neck flex. He was trying to hold back from snapping my neck. And the fact that I did that was amazing. I noticed that his hand was holding his metal cup on for dear life, and I saw it bend very slightly.
"Don't make me drag your ass to the training centrum for a training that has you whimpering." He tried to speak calmly, but the vein in his neck said otherwise.
I huffed and took a swig of my drink. I should just keep my mouth shut. Just saying 'sorry' and hope he doesn't push me off the bridge. But I couldn't. It was almost exciting to see him worked up.
I turned my face around and on accident, my knee touched his, and again the warmth of his body made contact with mine. I felt his heat through my leather pants and I shivered when I realized I was so damn cold. Back in amity, I was always in the sun, and now I'm somewhere down where the sun can't reach.
"You know what Eric, I'd like to see you try."
Now I knew I fucked op. He had a devious smirk on his skin that made him look scary. "I hope you know where you brought yourself into, Initiate. Tomorrow you and I will have a good training session. After training."
God damn, Angie. So much for trying to stay invisible. Reyes and Hailey saw everything happen and they all stared at me like I was an idiot. Well, can't blame them though.
Eric stood up with his finished plate and his body touched mine again. He clapped me on my back which made me cry out in surprise.
"See you tomorrow. Initiate."
Reyes's eyes are finally on me, and he didn't look good.
"I think I messed up," I admitted with an awkward smile. Reyes slapped himself and Hailey gave me an awkward smile in return.
