I fucking hate this website because not only did I click this goddamn link expecting it to be a joke of some sort, but it wasn’t a joke and I sat here spinning the screen around enjoying myself in a stupid bag of cornflakes like the dumbass monkey I am on Tumblr.com, enthralled by being in a bag of corn flakes in
a collection of covid-19 tweets, part 4

Excellent graphics with info that the mainstream press aren't sharing because they're rather scare the shit outta people.
That last slide is extremely telling, no?
In short, share this around. Then ya'll can calm the fuck down, head to the Winchester, have a pint and wait for this to all blow over.
Right. Except a pandemic of a new illness that no one is immune to where almost 20% of infected people need to go to hospital puts massive strain on medical infrastructure.
So no, the sky isn’t falling but be sensible. Don’t panic buy, do wash your hands. Don’t avoid all human contact, do avoid visiting your granny or your friend with a compromised immune system. Do self isolate if you think you might have symptoms.
Don’t panic, but don’t go too far the other way.
^
Found this in the reblogs. It’s not the apocalypse but the issue is lack of immunity and potentially wide spread because of it can mean and overall very large amount of infected, which ticks up the overall deaths from sheer volume, especially if healthcare infrastructure is overburdened. This has killed more than SARS and MERS because it’s very infectious.
People need to stop panicking for themselves like it’s the apocalypse and be concerned about containing the spread due to the vulnerable people. Like in WA where I live, most of the deaths are in the nursing home in Kirkland where the first cluster really started, like it just took those people out. That won’t happen to everyone but it tanks some of the vulnerable elderly and chronically ill people real hard.
So like the above post says the thinking should be “don’t panic, don’t think you’re going to die unless you’re chronically ill or old, but worry about keep your older parents or sister who just finished chemo or gram gram safe since this could kill them.” Because the majority of healthy people still probably have someone in their life that is vulnerable due to age or illness.
But if you’re young and healthy, or at least don’t have one of the conditions vulnerable to this, the mass panic needs to stop. You’ll just get a version of the flu and be fine in two weeks.
The press is laying down the paranoia but it’s also something the public has to take seriously because of how many people could get infected and therefore how many vulnerable people could die.
Wait… Someone finally made something that shows what it’s really like. This is always so hard to explain.
