Three Lads. Fun, Lively, Talented. Who could it be?? Its The Secrets!!
I only recently saw these guys at the LG Arena in Birmingham on the Forum Stage, during the Big Reunion tour. I remember walking through the doors of the arena to be greeted by this sound of amazing harmonies, the strumming of a guitar, and three guys on stage performing to an adoring audience of mixed ages. Even when I was queuing to get food, I could still hear the sweet sound of the band playing in the background, even with the loud conversation of the people around me, I could block them out and just focus on this amazing talent, just a few feet away. When I’d got my food, I went and stood at a nearby table and listened to the remaining few songs of the boys set. I was completely in awe of the different voices that blended so beautifully together to create this completely unique sound that is The Secrets. I was hooked on the music of these boys, and when they did a cover of 5 Seconds of Summer ‘She Looks So Perfect’ and also played on of their own songs ' Maybe Baby' , I was sold on them. I even sent a cheeky Snapchat video to my mate with the caption ' THESES GUYS ARE AMAZING!! CHECK THEM OUT' I instantly followed them all on Twitter as soon as I could. When they had finished, I wasted no time in going over to talk to them, I first spoke to Luke, and told him how I enjoyed the show and asked about getting a leaflet with all their details on how I could listen to more of their music on-line, to which Luke asked both his band-mates Josh and Lewis for one, and Lewis joked about trying to find me a dry one as he had spilt a bottle of water in his bag ( I feel your pain my friend, that kinda experience cost me my first iPod) . I finally got given one and i took a couple of cheeky selfies with the boys and got hugs off all of them . When I got home that night, although I was bloody knackered from the show, I instantly logged in to YouTube and listen to some more of their covers, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had done a variety of covers from One Direction to Ed Sheeran. I listened to all of them and they had very quickly become my new obsession. I couldn't get these boys off my mind and I was singing all the way to work, and also on the Thursday, even had the pleasure of literally bumping into Luke in my home town of Rugby on my way to a job interview, again I said hello to him, and directed him to a Santander, and bless him he even wished me good luck on my interview, well Luke I will tell you.... it blooming worked, I got the job!!! So thanks to his good luck message and my lucky leaflet of The Secrets in my pocket. I walked past McDonald's on my way home and saw Luke busking away, and being the lovely generous person I am, I gave him 40p.
To compare these amazing voices would be crazy but I can safely say that you can an essence of James Morrison, John Legend, Passenger, and many others all combined into this incredible trio of music, vocals and just pure adorableness, but I can assure you, from someone who plays a lot of genres of music on a local hospital radio station, that these boys will truly make you mind explode and not only are they talented with vocals they're pretty funny as well, as you get a insight to what they are like behind the scenes of all the music.
Watching their mini ' At home with the secrets' video on YouTube, you get to see that the are normal lads with a bloody, bitchingly amazing future ahead of them. I really hope to see them again soon as they do brighten up your day even if its just a smile, a song, a selfie and a hug.
