Work was important to Cookie and Xavier knew that. But the way he leaned over their bed without his shirt always got her. She stood slowly and headed over to the bed and sat down beside him. "Nothing that can't be done later." she smiled and hugged one knee to her chest.
Slight Chance of Zombies | Klaus & Forrest, Cookie & Alice
While they weren’t the cops assigned to that particular case, neither Forrest nor Klaus could deny the situation sounded interesting, so they tag-teamed it out with the two other cops at the sight and made their way over to where the detective and coroner were inspecting the corpse.
"Officers Nemstev and Avdonin," Forrest pointed to Klaus and himself in turn, introducing them to the two women. "We’ll be on with you from this point." "What’s the verdict, detective?" Klaus looked to the woman in question. "He gonna pull through?"
At that, Forrest leveled Klaus with a hard, unamused stare. "What?" The shorter cop was attempting (and failing) to suppress a grin. "I think he’ll be alright. He has it in him. Or, out of him, in this case.”
Forrest cast an apologetic look to the women; "If you ignore him, he’ll shut up."
Alice sighed with the crude joke that Klaus was trying to pull and looked back down to the body. But she had smiled at what Forest said to them about Klaus. She continued her job of looking at it, trying to figure out what may have caused this murder. Bringing a camera out, she took a few pictures of the body, zooming in to not get too close to the body and the blood soup in it.
On the other hand, Cookie laughed at the joke. "Funny, but no. Doesn't seem like he will make it. And its nice to meet you Officers. Detective Cookie McNemic and Coroner Alice Parker. We will be pleased to work with you on this case." She smiled kindly at them and stuck her hand out to shake.
"Babe, you gonna join me any time soon?"

Cookie looked over to Xavier from her desk as she set her pencil down. “I’ll be right over my love.”

Khepri followed the woman, an emotion that he’d learned long ago as ‘guilt’ flooding his systems. He felt like he should go back and apologize, but fear of getting into trouble kept him from doing so.
—No, it wasn’t fear of getting into trouble, it was fear of seeing his maker upset.
"I messed up work. Shattered something important." Khepri didn’t quite know what it had been, but it was something that he’d seen Sol putting into all of the newest models. "I don’t have parents to get mad at me, but the boss won’t be too pleased.” He toyed with the sleeves of his sweatshirt, a frown on his lips.
Alice slowed down to talk by the stranger and slowly took his hand, feeling sad for him. "Did you do it on purpose or was it because it was an accident?" She brushed her thumb gently over his hand, only trying to calm him down.
But in doing so, she built up a small current which in turn shocked Khepri and she quickly pulled her hand back. "I... I'm sorry... I think it was static from my jacket." She absentmindedly rubber her arm, knowing it was much more than that.
"I gotta run away from home," Khepri spoke urgently, "otherwise I’m gonna get deactivated. Do you know where I can hide a body?"
"—My body, specifically."
Alice blinked a couple times and then nodded slowly. "Sure. Come with me." She offered a smile to the stranger before her and turned slowly to start walking down the street. Only looking back to make sure he was following.
But her head was swimming in questions. Deactivated? What did that even mean? Surely he meant he was just in trouble. Maybe he worked alot with machines and the language you use with those could slip out into normal conversations. And what was he in trouble from? What had he done that he needed to run away from home?
"Why do you need to run away from home? Your parents angry with you?" She looked back to him, understanding how it felt to have angry parents.
This isn’t his house—
"—Did you kidnap me?" He doesn’t bother to think that, even with a raging hangover, he just got drunk and went home with someone.
Thecia looked up to the stranger beside her. Had she really been than drunk that she brought someone home with her? Well, it wouldn't have been the first time. "No, I... I think we got drunk..." She sighed and sat up slowly.

"I wonder what its like beyond the palace walls." Alice sighed as she looked to Yanet.
Yanet could only shrug in response, staring out of her window into the nearby town. “Probably not as controlling. The people here are so bossy, telling you what to do, what to say. It’s so troublesome.”
Yanet was taken by surprise at that, shaking her head. “The guards will. The maids will. If they don’t notice you’re gone, they’re bound to notice me. I can’t exactly stroll out whenever I want.” her father would never allow her that much freedom. Which was exactly what she wanted. Oh, but screw it all. “Okay, fine. But we have to be back before morning or the maids will surely discover us.”
"That's why we are going to sneak out, Princess." Alice laughed as she lightheartedly poked fun at Yanet. "I sneak out of my room most nights, but I only go to the roof. There should be a way to get to the wall and from there to the village. And of course we will be back. We have to be in court tomorrow morning. If we are not back, then someone will notice then."
"I wonder what its like beyond the palace walls." Alice sighed as she looked to Yanet.
Yanet could only shrug in response, staring out of her window into the nearby town. “Probably not as controlling. The people here are so bossy, telling you what to do, what to say. It’s so troublesome.”
Yanet almost wanted to do it, too. Her father hardly paid any attention to her anymore, leaving the girl to be quite lonely. If it wasn’t for Alice, she’d probably gone mad years ago. “Perhaps. But it would be more enjoyable than being inside the castle.” She huffed, shaking her head.
Alice looked to Yanet again and smiled. "We should go. Just for tonight. No body would notice us gone. And we could be back in by morning." Yanet was her only friend that Alice really had. All the others were either too young, too old or made fun of her for her father only being a duke. But Yanet was never mean to her and she always found comfort in her presence even if she was the kings daughter.

Rainy Days | Alice & Yanet
Yanet complained and whined the entire time Alice payed, having a pout on her face as they left. “I wanted to pay for his gift, Alice. Honest, it would’ve been fine! I don’t have a problem paying..” She muttered, shaking her head. “No, I have sheet music back home and if anything, I can always find some online and print it out. But if we go to a music store, I am paying for anything I might get. Okay?”
Alice pouted playfully and then laughed. "Fine. And the present isn't free Yanet. You are going to pay me back in smiles and love. Is there a music store any where near here that you wanted to go to? I know of ones that sell CD's but not sheet music." She took Yanet's arm and walked slowly towards the door, hoping that the rain would be slower than before. Maybe it was just her, but it already felt like Yanet was a close friend to Alice. Like a sister she could talk to about anything. And that was just fine with her.

"Perhaps one day we should go. But we wouldn't go unnoticed. You father being the king and mine the duke. We would be missed. Perhaps even searched for." Alice laughed softly and looked back out the window to the town.
