Syn's first time meeting Otoya: when they're kids, invited over for a sleepover.
“Eita quit it! Awwwww, look what you did! Say sorry!”
Syn blinked looking down at the spilled snack that a certain little brother of her best friend had just knocked from her hand. The little animal crackers having spilled across the grass, a few having smashed on the cement. She watched them for a second longer, tears filling her eyes. She’d been looking forward to this all day, especially when her friend had invited her over for a sleep over. Of course, she knew the little brother, Eita Otoya, would be there, though she'd never met him before.
Gritting her teeth, Syn clenched her fists, crushing the empty paper cup that lingered after the zoological tragedy, and stalked up behind the boy. He was currently busy teasing his sister and wasn’t paying her any attention. With all the fury she could muster, Syn bonked him on top of his head. Puffing her cheeks out and glaring at him with tear filled eyes. “You owe me a snack! Baka!” she shouted at him when he turned to look at her.
His expression fell as he stared up at her, rubbing the spot on his head she had hit. He blinked, startled by her reaction, and the tears more than anything. It was only when they started to spill from Syn’s eyes and rolled down her cheeks that his expression turned more into alarm. “Ah! Um! Sorry! Please don’t cry! I’ll go get more!” he promised running off back towards his house.
Syn sniffled, rubbing her eyes. That had been her first time meeting Eita Otoya.
