I don't rp often so Im sorry for the late reply and Im mainly using Google translate to help me out with certain words so yeah. thank you for your understanding!
uh he looks like this...
Hallo spy! Very good day today ja?I had made stew. Very good, very nutritious...you like, yes?will help you in battle to sneak...
@cooking-with-bjorn
âHeavy! How wonderful of you to come byâŚyes! Yes!â The Spaniard smiled warmly as he spoke, dragging his cigarette dead in the nearest ashtray before continuing. âI gratefully accept your offerâŚI would love a share.!â
*Bjorn nodded slowly, a small frown on his face.* "Ah, good, good. Bjorn worry... others not eat much, ja? Need food, very important! Make strong for battle. No food, no fight good. I hope they eat soon..."
Though his brows knitted together with an underlying hint of concern, what left Spyâs lips was a curving smile and a bright laugh. A cheery, almost assuring thing. âYouâre a good man, and Iâve seen what youâre referring toâŚtruly, I feel it may come from stress. With the state of..everything we utilize as of late only continuing to decline, itâs safe to say our fellow comrades are high strung.â Ăngel leaned back to straighten his posture, shaking his head to rid a curl or two from his eyes before adding, âAt the same time, you propose a good pointâand I worry for them, too.â
He sighed then, breathing with an unspoken weight as he pondered for a moment longer. Everyone was worked to the bone. Their circumstances made an imbalance between work and self care that âcomplicatedâ would fall short of describing, and for the briefest moment it was a suffocating realization; watching their lives partake in the slowest ship sinking known to man.
But he held his smile.
âI canât blame them, but similarly; do not blame yourself when they donât come for meals. SĂ, Bjorn..? I will try to help you convince them. We can do our bestâŚbut if they donât eat, itâs not your fault. Itâs nobodies, reallyâthat weâre in this predicament.â
Bjorn froze, his large frame stood still as spy's words settled in. he blinked, his brow furrowing slightly as he translated the meaning in his head...taking a moment longer than usual. "Ah... I see. I understand, Very...very kind way to say things." He paused, his hand scratching the back of his neck "Takk...er-...thank you...for offer help! Is very...very good of you."
his face softened into a bright, warm smile, one that seemed to radiate a gentle kindness "You are very kind man, herr Ăngel Truly! Bjorn is... lucky to have friend like you. Thank you for this."
He shifted slightly, as though trying to find more words but settling for a simple, heartfelt nod. "Stew is in cafeteria ja? Would you like Bjorn to grab for you?" he twiddled his thumbs a little looking down slightly
Spyâs dwindling concern eased as Bjorn smiled back, infected easily by the warmth in the countenance the latter bore. âNo, I am the lucky one, SeĂąor, I assure you.â Ăngel laughed softly and straightened his vest to stand, looking up to eye the seemingly bashful chef.
âWhy donât I eat in the m..cafeteria, hm? Maybe we can catch anyone else coming by.â
The Spaniard had to stop himself from calling it the âmess deck.â Some habits must never change, one could say. He laughed internally at himself for it, but made no mention of the little fumble. âWhat do you say? âŚ. Shall we?â
Bjornâs smile grew even softer, his large hands clasping together as he let out a warm chuckle "ja! ja! yes! that be very very nice!" He lead Ăngel the way. as they walked the larger man thought to himself before speaking up
"Bjorn is...very grateful for you. Always thinking of others, is very good heart. Remind me of, uh... my oldest dattere- erm...d-daughter. Always helping, always care for others." He glanced down briefly, his expression warm and thoughtful, before he lets out a soft chuckle, his kind eyes twinkling "Maybe... Bjorn tell story or two? You remind me of family, you know."
Spy followed after the taller mercenary with ease, walking by his side as his hands folded neatly at his back. Though he wasnât expecting the next sentence to follow, it was a pleasant surprise that washed over him. A semblance of belonging; home.
âBjornâŚyouâre too kind to me.â
Ăngelâs eyes searched through Bjornâs own with each step, recognizing their tender light as something remarkably domesticâa welcoming glisten that made him laugh in turn before elaborating. âItâs just how Iâd been taught; both at home, and at sea.â Despite his lighthearted denial, in many ways was he honored by what he heard. To be told he reminded Heavy of such a special, empathetic person in the manâs life was certainly one thing, butâŚto be a reminder specifically of family? Spy almost faltered in his tracks, though he did keep up. By the way the Spaniards face brightened, no words were necessary to describe how elated he must be to know heâs considered so highly. No amount of self control fully contained the little wrinkles around his eyes as he grinned, or the dimples in his cheeksâpartly obscured by his mask.
âBut, familyâŚme.?â Ăngel echoed softly. âIâwow! .. oh, Bjorn. I see you as family too..and Iâm so very grateful you are apart of the team.â
bjorn offered Spy another warm, genuine smile as they walked side by side toward the cafeteria, his voice carrying a soft, fatherly like tone. "Of course, Bjorn sees everyone on team like family! Very nice. Feels likeâŚhome far away home, ja?" He chuckled
As they entered the cafeteria, Bjorn pulled out a chair for Ăngel. "Here, sit, sit! Bjorn take care of everything." His towering frame moved with surprising gentleness as he began rummaging through the cabinets, humming a tune quietly to himself. a tune he heard from a certain radio station
his brows furrowed as he noticed the small amount of clean bowls they have. Most of them were either missing or left unwashed in the sink for...uh lets say 'days', no doubt to save on water...He let out a soft grumble, eventually finding a single clean bowl. He held it for a moment, a faint frown appearing on his face as he wished he had another to share the meal properly with Spy. But with a small shrug, he brushed the thought aside, turning to Ăngel with a warm smile.
"Here...Bjorn get stew for Spy." He placed the bowl gently on the counter beside the pot. carefully ladling the hearty stew itself.
It almost sounded as if he was suppressing some degree of emotion, as the Spaniards voice wavered softly. Before he could dwell on it, however, he cleared his throat. Ăngel took a gloved hand to his face, rubbing one eye, then the other. With a gracious thanks to Bjorn, when told to have a seat, he accepted that proposition and settled down without much hesitation.
âŚIt was a comfortable silence, what they shared in the following moments.
Even if for the briefest glimpse of the day, Ăngel found himself completely unconcernedâmaybe it was because he felt, for the first time in a long time; looked after. There was a paternal mien within the gentle sways and movements from his teammate; the way he spoke was no different, and it resonated with the Spaniard. So often the independentâhimselfâSpy had now found himself in the reversed position, someone being taken care of, not someone who was tending. It took him back in slow lulls, one year at a time. Seeping in flurries and swells through every rippling thought came the sea, the land; familiar faces swirling through waves and wind until it wasnât an adult who sat at the table in a New Mexico shipyard. It was a child, seas away.
⌠He snapped back to his senses when a bowl clinked against the tabletop. Blinking away any remnants of despondent haze, gratitude returned to his features, and he smiled. âBjorn..thank you. Youâre too kindâŚâ
Ăngelâs eyes shifted to the sink soon enough, and similarly the older gentleman, his smile faded. â..Are there no other bowls for yourself..?â Inquired the spyâthough his brown eyes seemed to imply that he already knew the answer to that question.
Bjorn slowly shook his head, a soft, warm smile spreading across his face as he lowered himself into the chair across from Ăngel. The chair groaned under his weight, but he didnât seem to notice. "nei⌠all bowls are dirty," he said with a small chuckle, his voice light but carrying that unmistakable tone of gentle disappointment.
he clicked his tongue, shaking his head like a parent scolding their children. "Tch tch tch. Team not wash dish! How team survive on own without Bjorn, hm?" He let out a hearty laugh at his own joke, clearly amused, even if he didnât realize how serious it might sound. For a moment, his laughter faded, his thoughts drifting...The respawn machine...
He quickly shook his head, clearing the thought like shaking off snow. His smile returned, a little softer now. "A-anyways...it is fine. Bjorn wash dish later, when you finish, ja? No need worry." He waved a large hand dismissively, his voice warm and reassuring.
Leaning forward slightly, he rested his hands on the table, his expression kind and open. "For now, Bjorn listen. Tell Bjorn story, ja? About you, maybe. Bjorn like to hear. Make heart happy, very much." His words were slow and careful, his broken English carrying a tender sincerity that made it clear he truly cared. even though he doesn't speak much...he's always able to listen
I have a traffic cone in my hands right now. You don't seem like the type of person to have any use for a traffic cone, but I'm offering it anyway out of courtesy.
Do you want it?
â @ylw-soldier
the taller man stood silent for a moment, his eyes glancing towards the traffic cone in the Soldier's arms. His brow furrowed slightly, clearly uncertain if he was truly the one being addressed. After a pause, he gulped and glanced around again, hoping perhaps the question was meant for someone else. Slowly, he raised a large hand and pointed at himself, confusion and bewilderment seen on his face.
"ah...Bjorn? You mean...me?" he tilted his head slightly "You sure? Bjorn is not...uh, expert in...cone business?" clearly...more confused
He paused again, rubbing the back of his neck as his kind smile began to grow, his expression softening with a nervous chuckle. "But...Bjorn can try help, ja! Always happy to think of idea...of what to do with cone that is...so What...uh, what do we do with cone soldier? Is it...for battle? Ah, maybe helmet? No?" he joked slightly "You can give to...Your friend on green! ja? I do not know who they are but...very nice man I hope!...nice man...or woman- hm..."
*He shifted his grip on the traffic cone a little bit so that it was more comfortably settled in his arms as the other talked, a knife-toothed grin spreading across his face at Bjorn's confusion.*
Well, I was thinking you might want to have it sit around and look pretty. There's no harm in that, I assume. I was going to ask the others, too, but they seem to be busy or unwilling-to-own-a-traffic-cone right now. If you want to use it for battle though, go ahead! It'll be really funny.
*At the mention of GRN, he neglected to comment or even notice. That is, for but a moment, as he soon did a double take to register the words spoken.*
Friend onâ? I don't actually know where you got that from. Though, I guess if you're not as... judgy about it as you could be, that's good. It just means I have to... talk to... whoever told you.
...But I think they're busy too. Probably off working on "personal projects" or something, so I haven't asked them. Besides, they've probably had enough random gifts from me to be sick of it for the rest of their life so there isn't a point.
*He laughed, a sharp sound like a sudden impact, though with a tinge of melancholy, much like the initial pain of bumping into a doorframe and the lingering ache afterwards.*
Bjorn smiled softly, though there was a slight unease behind it as his eyes lingered on the Soldier's sharp, shark-like teeth. His skin crawled just a little, as he gulped quietly, nodding ever so slowly.
"A-ah⌠Bjorn see. T-thank you for gift, herr V-VenyaâŚ" His voice wavered slightly, but he forced out a small nervous chuckle. He shifted his weight slightly, his towering frame somehow making him seem smaller in the moment.
"Uh⌠and Bjorn notice⌠someone outside with you other night." He paused, tilting his head a little as though thinking carefully about his words. "Looked⌠uh⌠green, ja? Seem like⌠very nice person. Friend of Venya, maybe? Bjorn think they must be good if they stay with you."
His voice softened, the kind warmth in his tone breaking through his nervousness. He offered another shaky but genuine smile, clearly trying his best to be polite despite his clear unease.
Anytime. In fact, let me know if you want anything else â there's more where that came from.
*He placed the traffic cone on the floor in front of him, as if urging the Heavy to take it. The weight on his feet shifted from heels, to tip-toes, to heels again; a habit he'd picked up from an old friend, though incidentally.
The Soldier bristled a bit at the notion of having been "found out", in a sense. This quickly subsided to make way for crossed arms and a raised eyebrow.*
You... saw someone with me. And they were green. Right, okay. Well, no harm done; you probably didn't see much, so... *A pause, to recollect his thoughts.*
You have too much faith in them. I mean, ад, they're an absolute bastard of a guy. But a friend? ...Maybe, on the good days. It depends on whether heâ they want to piss me off or not, really. Though I guess maybe it's for the better they stay around me anyway. Birds of a feather or something.
Bjorn blinked at the sudden change in topic, caught a little off-guard. He raised a hand to scratch his chin thoughtfully, his expression softening. "Erm... nothing much has gone on in Bjorn's life at base. We fight, we live... and that is it." He gave a small, sheepish chuckle, his gaze dropping for a moment. "Bjorn has not learned any new recipes... not yet."
his brows furrowed slightly as he thought harder, his mind drifting back over the past week. He wanted to say something nice, something to keep the conversation going. His face brightened suddenly, and he clasped his hands together with a warm smile. "Ah! Bjorn received letter from children! Back in Norway! Very nice letter, ja!"
*His posture eased a little bit, now that the topic had shifted away from his escapades and towards the Heavy's own life. He didn't have the emotional capacity to unpack everything at that moment, so it was a reprieve of sorts.*
A letter? Wow, I didn't know they were capable of sending those in to us!
*He couldn't help but think the other's joy somewhat infectious, smiling a touch in return. Venya prompted him further; it was surprising to him that he could hold up a conversation for this long, so he was keen to exploit it.*
He reached into his pocket, pulling out a slightly crumpled envelope and holding it up proudly. "They write about school and home! Little ones say they miss Bjornâs stew...They also miss my lefse hah! My sister cannot cook too well...Oh they like Bjorn's cooking too much, I think!" He laughed softly
his eyes glimmered with a mix of pride and longing as he carefully tucked the envelope back into his pocket, patting it gently. "Bjorn misses them too...very much. But is okay! Team here keeps Bjorn busy. Is like having big, noisy family again!" He chuckled again, his voice soft and affectionate.
He glanced up, his kind eyes meeting Venyas, and gave a small, reassuring nod. "And you? How is herr venya? Bjorn hopes you are doing well. Is important to talk and keep...erm...spirits high, ja?" His tone was gentle, his genuine concern evident in every word.
*The Soldier couldn't help but smile to himself as the man talked about his children; it must have been nice, having people rely on you, look forward to when you're around. That might've been the case for him at one point in time, but for the Heavy it seemed to be more... permanent, in a sense.*
Ah, I bet the team thinks that too. That we're like a family. It's nice, kind of, having that... reliance and â I don't know, "team bonding"? â that we do.
*He averted his eyes for a second, as if not particularly keen on the concern that his teammate apparently had for him. After a moment, however, it was hands in pockets and a quiet surrender. He might as well. It wasn't supposed to do any harm.*
It's... It's been alright. If anything has been up, I've been dealing with it, anyway, so... Oh, and I've had more time to take the car out, too, which is nice. You should see her. She's lovely, and she somehow hasn't let me down before. She sure keeps my spirits high, at least.
*He laughed fondly â those times spent outside of the base if not only to have that time to himself were, to be completely honest, the highlight of his week. I suppose there was something to be said here about... the bond between man and his car? Though that sounds more than a tad peculiar, so perhaps not.*
Bjorn smiled warmly, his large hand resting over his chest as he gave a firm, reassuring nod. "Like Bjorn says...team is family. Bjorn must help, no matter what! is important, ja!" His voice carried the gentle conviction of someone who truly believed in his words, like a father reassuring his children.
He paused mid-step, his brows furrowing slightly as he tilted his head in curiosity. For a moment, he seemed lost in thought, his hand absentmindedly scratching at his beard. He hadnât even realized Venya owned a car...let alone one showed it to the team or that he referred to as her (well to be fair he calls his mini gun Solveig after the god but oh well-) The notion confused him, though not unpleasantly so. After a moment, his confusion melted into his usual soft, accepting smile.
"Oh! Very nice, herr Venya! What type of car is she? Bjorn has not seen... erm... her(?) before." He stumbled over the pronoun, his tone almost apologetic, but his curiosity and kindness shone through. "She must be special if Venya calls her...erm what name?"

Hallo spy! Very good day today ja?I had made stew. Very good, very nutritious...you like, yes?will help you in battle to sneak...

Hallo spy! Very good day today ja?I had made stew. Very good, very nutritious...you like, yes?will help you in battle to sneak...
@cooking-with-bjorn
