In a world where Will Byers is filled with jealousy and practically a yandere, he’ll find himself tackling Mike to the ground with his hands clasp around the boy's throat with the reasoning “why can’t you love me?”

In that same world, Mike Wheeler is actively suicidal, and in what he assumes will be his last moments, he accepts this as probably the peek way of dying. Dropping his arms to the side, he accepts that his bestfriend is the person who will kill him, but at least in his last moments, he’ll get to see the person he loves the most as his eyes go blurry, his head starts to pound, and his heart starts to slow… though he doesn’t die.

In this world, Will watches Mike stop thrashing, stop trying to break free, and the raven-haired boy's arms thud to the ground, and he thinks he’s killed him. guilt, and the overwhelming realization of what he’s done goes through him. A sob escapes through his lips as he leans down, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry–” He whispers in the crook of Mike's neck as he gently kisses the bruises that are already starting to form. As his lips press against Mike's pulse, another tear slips from his eyes as he gasps, sitting up slightly, weeping, hazel eyes meet bleary brown ones, and it’s a heart-wrenching sight, but hey… Mike is alive.

what scars do you think paladin mike and cleric will would have? i know its pretty common for p!mike to have a large facial scar like in s3 finale but i never see other ideas for mike as well as for cleric will

as for paladin mike, his scars are more traditional and just due to fighting and protecting people (will):

facially, i think he'd have one over his lip and a couple through his eyebrows:

Imagine this but Byler.

Will and Mike walking around NYC holding hands and they stop them and ask them about their story.

And Will goes into tangent on how they‘ve known each other since childhood, have been best friends since they were kids. And he talks about the swingset and his unrequited love for Mike and how Mike was so oblivious and how he finally realized how he feels and they got together.

And Will talks with his hands and his whole body because he loves this story.

And Mike is just standing there, staring at him because he’s so in love and he doesn’t even try to object or defend himself because there’s not an ounce of lie in Will’s story.

So, when Will finally finishes the story, he looks at Mike and asks “Do you have anything to add?”

And Mike just grins at him and says “I love you.”

Aghhhhh my HEART

hear me out byler au/variant typa thing where they are a comic writer duo who met as kids/teenagers and have always created together, so much that it engrained in their way of writing/drawing to do things in a way that complements the other's style. their comic book series about two young boys who are best friends and save the world together blows up and loads of people start shipping them and hoping they end up together as the series is still ongoing. mike and will are both very surprised by this, as the characters were based on themselves and their relationship and they never intended it to be romantic. will feels extremely guilty and wrong because he is in love with mike and is scared he unconsciously let that show in his art. mike is a bit taken aback but mostly just confused, cause the things people point out as having romantic undertones have always just been normal in his relationship with will. they both dont really know how to address this so they start to be awkward with each other in a way theyve never been. they dont talk about it and continue to write the story as they had it planned, with the characters as best friends. will opens up to his queer friends and they are all super sure mike is queer and will should totally talk to him about both their relationship and changing the direction of the story. mike however feels very accussed? attacked? about someone he intended to be just like him being called queer in a very unconscious way, even though he isnt homophobic and is totally accepting of will and his friends, theres still an element of 'but that is not me' because internalized homophobia is a bitch. he actually hasnt dated anyone in years. so he goes out and tries to flirt with women even though that never interested him before. some girl flirts with him and he kisses her and he doesnt really feel anything but then again what is he supposed to feel maybe thats just what it is like. she pulls him into a situationship and he just doesnt know how to get out of it because he doesnt have any good reason to break it off cause there is nothing really wrong it just doesnt feel right. he is starting to question his heterosexuality more clearly now but saying that out loud still feels like too much. he just says everything is going well to will because just like with the girl he cant say much else cause that would mean coming out. and he is too scared. its all too much. is that why he felt so different with will? were all those people right? will is just living the new awkwardness of their relationship and the seemingly great appearance of this girl in mikes life right as this whole shipping thing started. and he interprets it as mike being grossed out by being called queer and marking a distance. this keeps going for a bit until it explodes because they cant coexist normally anymore and they just get worked up and scream at the other. they say some hurtful things rain fight style. will impulsively tells the press their creative partnership is over. this is so public like mclennon style. but of course it wakes mike up from his paralysis and he goes find will and confesses and its all so much and fuck they can finally be fully honest with each other and be affectionate unapologetically. they get together and then they obviously create a beautiful romantic development for their characters. the comic series and its authors love story become iconic queer history.

When they finished the series Will definitely made a few extra comics of people fan made work and published it making it not only canon but also making the fans famous

will who thinks he's moved on from his feelings for mike, only for them to become quickly reawakened during their first year of college. they're sharing a dorm. its just more economic that way. it's safer. mike knows that will has seizures and can't eat meat and sleeps with a nightlight. mike doesn't want to be in a new city without anyone he knows. so they share a dorm.

but then will's nightmares come back in the winter. what starts as mild night terrors turn into full blown flashbacks plaguing his dreams. he wakes up with his throat raw and a cold sweat all over his body and his muscles sore from how hard he'd locked them up. and always, always, mike hovering over him, hand pressed to the side of his face, so very worried.

mike will get him a glass of water. and sit with him until will feels like talking about it. they repeat this over and over again and will keeps waiting for mike to get tired. for mike to complain about most nights being interrupted by will's problems. but mike never does. and when will tries to bring it up, mike just shakes his head and refuses to hear of it.

will has a really bad nightmare one night, then. like really bad. and it's after a quarrel he has with mike over something stupid he can't even remember. in his dream, he's trapped in the upside down and mike is leaving him. he can't see mike, because mike is behind him, but mike is leaving and will is going to be here forever. and then will wakes up, but mike isn't hovering over him this time. mike is in bed with him, holding him and crying quietly. because will had been screaming his name desperately over and over again.

they start doing that now. sharing a bed. it begins with mike coming into his bed after the nightmares, but slowly transitions into mike just being in will's bed. and that's when will realizes that he's falling in love again. every night, wrapped up in mike's arms, with his ear to mike's chest, listening to his heartbeat...he's falling in love again, and this time he thinks it's here to stay.

but it also seems mike is here to stay too.

Dude... I spent like a good 3 hours just writing a story idea and the entire plan of it on here and I decide I'ma finish it later and put in my drafts and it pulled an error on me

Or did the duffers just use ily to start fights? Like we got fights from Nancy with Steve and Mike with Jane from the word ily. but like, Mike doesn't say it back in Jane's last moments, and Nancy, I'm pretty sure never said ily to Johnathan.

They never gotten a resolution for those fights so what was the point??

Edit- I was wrong! Apparently Nancy does say ily to both of em at some point :D

read this post the other day and i thought of jane asking mike if he’s breaking up with her because he doesn’t love her. mike says once again “i care about you so much.” (he does) but that’s it for jane, she knows it’s over. for real this time. she can hear it in his voice. but she has to ask, she has to know. “am i broken?” and mike— honest to god terrified in his own foreign queer feelings mike, finally breaks. guilty and disgusted and angry with himself for ever make her even think that. teary eyes and shaky hands as he looks at her.

“no, but i am.”

what if– what if when they first met, will introduced himself as “will, short for william”, but mike said his name was michael. everybody at home called him that, and he had no friends yet that could give him a nickname. until will, who had never been william to anyone yet, not really.

that’s how will, his first friend, started to call him mike, “short for michael. now we’re the same”, and then everybody else did too (his new friends, his teachers, his sister. everybody, except his parents).

so when mike met el, he passed that onto her. because he’s her first friend, and they too are the same.
