something that's so important to me during the southern raiders is that, after his moment's surprise at Katara's bloodbending, Zuko's eyes narrow and he unflinchingly presses forward. because in that moment, even if he doesn't recognize what it is that Katara is doing, he recognizes the rage and anguish driving her actions—he can see what she's feeling and it doesn't perturb him because he understands. it's an ineffable state of mind, not something she can explain to someone else with words, but in Zuko's case, she doesn't need to. that implicit understanding is so important to me.

some of you act like just because aang wasn't angry (he was, he just wasn't explosive and throwing tantrums) then everybody should follow his perfect example like the other characters have no reason to be mad but let's see how y'all cope with having half of your face burned by your dad, like, you guys genuinely act like zuko has so little to complain about when his life is absolutely shit. "the others have trauma too and they don't act that way" well good thing the authors had enough of a mind to not give the same psyche to all characters?

I had a blast drawing her :D

Seriously, everything just worked for me and the only thing I had minor troubles with was her hair! The only thing I dislike about Atla movie is that it erased the original features of characters. Everyone was so unique in the series but in the movie their faces are awfully similar.

I tried to make adult katara look more reminiscent of her younger version :3
