“Burden of These Dreams” is a love song written by Damon Albarn about Graham Coxon.
Holy SHIT….
In one of Damon Albarn’s EARLIEST of his one billion bands, called Circus, he most likely wrote for the songs and he always sang in them too. Graham joined the band a bit later, but the other two starting members were Damon’s friends from art college, Eddie Deedigan and Tom Aitkenhead… anyway, back to my holy shit:
Like I said, I assume Damon contributed to lyrics and so I’ve been listening to their song “Burden of These Dreams” and I’ve just began to notice some many peculiar things about the song…
For example, the use of gender neutral pronouns only… the people the narrative only ever mentions is “you” and “them.” “You” seems to be the main character, the one the speaker is speaking dearly to, while “them” is another person or group of people that inspires the speaker to “sing” their song of love.
By the way, Damon was pretty young at the time of writing this song and only ever dated one girl named Jane. She did “take his virginity,” but it wasn’t a relationship that lasted very long, so I was just looking at the lyrics hard and it doesn’t seem like these lyrics could be applicable to that odd relationship at all???? Basically, if ya catch my drift, I want to delve into the lyrics a bit more and explain who this song is really about.
Basically, to give you the sweetest, quickest, and strongest bitch slap you’ve ever experienced in your entire freakin’ life: TL;DR? I think “Burden of These Dreams” is a love song written by Damon about GRAHAM COXON.
BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES, YA BEAUTIES! THIS IS GONNA GO INTO A LOT OF DETAIL, SO I’M SETTING THIS BEHIND A READ MORE!
