//Beta Glisten being a whopping 27 years old and survivor of harvests offers some intriguing questions about toon aging. like... might Toodles grow up to a prime age and stop there? Will she/do toons in general grow quickly or slowly? Will she keep aging to Eggson age? Can a toon eventually age to death? Might they have a shorter or longer lifespan than humans? What the Fuck is Toon Puberty like? Like... it might not be quite as hormonal as human puberty tends to be but there's likely growing pains. Is U. Toodles a preteen or teen? Like if she grew to the size of a main twisted might she in particular have some growth disorder, possibly this is tall as she goes or she will grow even taller given time. I wonder if Toodles baby teeth are flat but her adult teeth are sharp or she has fangs cause she is kind of scared of growing up. Likely scared of growing up without the other, despite them both aging at similar rates. Poor kids might think they're twisting even worse over time only for them to just be growing up, but that fear might lead to further twisting troubles like a self fulfilling prophecy... like if Gourdy grows and looks More like his parents he is going to cry. Poor kid might have a "am i turning into my dad/mom?" Crisis.
(Alright everyone, buckle up, big lore drop time. Firstly, to understand anything else about Toodles we have to look at the show. For the majority of Dandy's World's runtime, Toodles was a kid. However, in one of the later seasons, let's say around season 5, Toodles had a two part episode called "Growing Pains". It was somewhat similar to the finale of Chowder for anyone who's seen that. For those who haven't, the episode starts on Toodles' birthday, and she realises she's growing up, which means soon she'll be a big girl and she'll have to become serious and grumpy according to her. She denies that she's growing up, but she denies it for so long that we fast forward to a teenage Toodles. Now she sees the consequences of her denial, with everyone having moved on, and Toodles has to remind everyone she's still herself, while making peace with the fact that she's growing up. It's also a Halloween special on a technicality, as Gourdy also features, but he's adapting a lot better to it. As a matter of fact, Toodles' new teeth are a little pointy (still nowhere near Shelly, Goob and Yatta's levels though), but Goob tells her that sometimes your body might look a little scary when you're growing up, but that's it's all perfectly normal and part of the process. The episode ends with it being revealed to be a dream, but the fact the episode existed at all ended up having a profound effect on Toodles' biology. See, the mains were all made after Season 1, and the rest of the toons were completed by the time Season 2 aired, but they still needed to remember the memories from later seasons, so Delilah had to schedule memory uploads after every new season was released. This update changed something for Toodles (and Gourdy). See, ichor isn't sentient, but it DOES react to how toons/twisteds perceive themselves, albeit moreso on a subconscious level. While Toodles is still a child, the episode gave her ichor, and by extension her and her body, the concepts and blueprints of how it would look like for her to grow up. Now, her "target age" (the age toons rapidly age up to then stop at, usually takes a month) is still around the 8-10 range, but now she is in the unique position where she is now aging at a slower pace towards a "secondary" target age. Now, to answer your questions. Toons can't die of old age, nor do any of them bar Toodles (and Gourdy) age beyond their target age. As for toon puberty, its a very short period of only a few weeks for most toons, though Toodles one could last for a couple of years. Generally it's mostly stuff like losing baby teeth, growing in size and developing their brains, since they obviously lack the other aspects of puberty tied to reproductive organs. Now obviously this is incredibly upsetting for both of them, but while the centre was still open staff could reset the "counter" through a tiny memory wipe that basically brought them back to their target age by tricking their bodies into thinking they hadn't aged. After the shutdown I can almost guarantee this kind of operation is beyond Dandy's very simple "wipe and/or bring back" grasp of the machine's functions, so Toodles and Gourdy are now aging, though like I said it's slow. Toodles has mixed feelings about growing up that aren't as negative as the show made it sound. On the one hand, she'd love to be seen as competent and on the same level as everyone else, but on the other hand she's terrified of two things. Firstly, she's terrified that this will ruin her relationship with Rodger, as she won't be a kid anymore, so he won't give her the same love and attention [unfounded fear, we all know Rodger would never deliberately abandon Toodles for anything] and she's also scared that she doesn't know who she is beyond being the "kid", and she'd feel weird still being Rodger's assistant as a grown-up. Gourdy on the other hand is, as you said, terrified and confused. Suddenly he's becoming a grown-up pumpkin, and he's fixated on the idea that his parents won't recognise him anymore, a similar fear to his twisted counterpart.)
