“Her… Parents?” Not only was neo surprised by Uka’s prodding at his family life, he had also forgotten about Nina’s parents for years now. Why now of all times?

“Nope, they’re dead as a doorknob. Or at least the last time I checked they were.”

“Oh…well, that explains it.” He didn’t think they would be dead. He certainly didn’t expect Cortex to sound so calm about it either. The look on his face however told him that he doesn’t care.

“….I’m guessing they were not all that pleasant to be around with, correct?” He paused for a moment.”Does she know?”

Neo always resented his family, or at least everyone except Nina. They were always so successful and happy while he was left in the dust and it was all their fault. If he didn’t take Nina from his brother, he knew for sure she would end up like him. Rich, pompous and faker than cheesewiz.
