imagine, if you will, a world in which a young transgender woman, feeling lonely and in need of connection, creates a dating profile to find other trans people who feel the same way, even putting "t4t" in her profile so other trans women know what she's looking for. she gets a message from a trans man asking if she wants to meet up. she responds that she's sorry, but she has no interest in dating men, as she's a lesbian. he responds by saying she doesn't have to worry — he's a trans man and also identifies as a lesbian. she restates her preferences for not dating men, even trans men. he goes on a rant at her, accusing her of being a "transandrophobe" and saying that they should have "solidarity" with each other. she blocks him and, with a heavy heart, continues looking for a more suitable partner.

quite the uncomfortable dilemma — by affirming his gender and simultaneously rejecting his romantic advances, she has unintentionally aroused his anger. perhaps he will get over it. perhaps, after many more encounters with other women of the same persuasion, his bitterness will only grow. perhaps she will encounter many more men just like him.

a disturbing reality, is it not? well, dear viewer, that reality is our own, and a doll like her meets a man like him every day. perhaps one day each of them will meet a girl who understands and cares for her. perhaps you are able to make sure this is the case with those women in your life. but for now, we leave you with yet another tale from the twilight zone. thank you, and goodnight.

Don't know how many hours I've spent today drawing (and redrawing) this but I just spent nearly an additional hour trying to decide if I'm actually gonna use the gw2 tags for once.

Anyways, used Kasmeer as an excuse to play around with pencil brushes and stuff.

(Turns out going 'offmodel' is a good way to make an npc my current art focus.)

“Cats don’t actually love you”

A cat is a small creature in the middle of the food chain that is fully aware that you are a very large thing that could stomp its head in at any moment and yet it chooses to rest its tiny little head on your leg for a nap and spreads out on the floor near you exposing its belly and its most sensitive organs. It brings dead mice and bugs to you to share food.

Don’t you get it? This tiny thing trusts you. It wants to help you too. It licks your leg thinking that it’s helping. It kneads on you to find comfort. It shares its body warmth with you in the cold and gives you your space in the heat. It hisses at other mammals it sees outside including other cats in an effort to protect its family.

Cats love you so so much. But they will keep trying to eat plastic.
