Pt. 1
You sigh as you look over to Akaashi, who is finishing the popcorn and gathering any other snacks left on the counter. Bokuto lays on your left, flipping through movies on the television, trying to find a movie for the three of you to watch.
Stretching your arms, you make a sound like a strangled cat, earning a laugh from Bokuto. This causes you to glare up at him, which ends with him pulling your face close to his chest. As you struggle to get up from his grip, Akaashi makes his way to the couch and you offer your hand to take the bag of chips. You scooch even closer to the silver haired boy to make room for your third roommate. It was nice having a movie night with your two best friends, especially when Bokuto's volleyball career made his schedule a little hectic, and Akaashi had to stay late at the office editing whatever manga he was working on. You raise the blanket for Akaashi to get under, who quickly gets comfortable.
“No.” You say, looking over at Bokuto. “We are NOT watching that. We are supposed to be watching a movie, not your top twenty spikes caught on camera.”
Bokuto pouts, his hair somehow drooping a little. “But they’re so good!”
“Maybe next time Bokuto,” Akaashi offers. “How about something we haven’t seen before?” Always the one to calm Bokuto down. Even in adulthood.
Bokuto sighs, but changes the television to an actual movie for the three of you. You rest your head on his shoulder and bring a chip to your mouth. The sound of the bag rustling summons your cat Ollie. He jumps onto Akaashi’s lap and lays down when he sees that it is not a bag of cat treats. Akaashi reaches down to scratch the top of the black long haired cat. This earns a few purrs in return. Bokuto looks over to the two of you when he finally chooses a movie. You both nod in approval. Paranormal Activity it is.
“Kou, nothing is even happening.” You say as Bokuto tenses up and pulls the blanket slightly up to his face. You take your head off of his shoulder, not wanting to get jostled around. Ollie left not long into the movie, tired of Bokuto’s jumps and startled noises, so you steal his spot. You lay your head on Akaashi’s lap, who rests his arm on you.
“I don’t care. This is still scary.”
Throughout the movie, Bokuto continues to hold on to the blanket. Snacks end up on the floor when he jolts at a jumpscare. Akaashi occasionally takes bites of popcorn, not at all seeming fazed by the film. He hands you pieces, which you absentmindedly accept.
When the movie ends, you are all tired and start to make your way to your own rooms.
“Y/N-” Bokuto starts to say as you get up from the couch.
“No, you’re not sleeping in my bed. It wasn’t even scary. Go sleep with Keiji.” This earns a groan from Akaashi, who is already halfway to his room.
There’s a crash in the kitchen, startling both you and Bokuto. You dive for Bokuto on the couch, who grabs for you as well. You both end up under the covers holding each other. What a pathetic sight.
“You both are ridiculous. And also grown-ass adults.” Akaashi makes his way to the kitchen, picking up a broom that was knocked over by none other than your cat. “You very scary demon,” he says to Ollie, who meows back in response. Smug cat.
Akaashi groans, his palm moving from his face to his hair. He looks over to his two friends, who are peeking out from the blanket still startled. “Fine. Just this once. I will go get some blankets. But if either of you start snoring, I am going back to my room.”
Akaashi goes to grab more blankets and a couple pillows for the couch so the three of you can sleep more comfortably. You and Bokuto clean up any fallen snacks and leftover trash. When he comes back, he is in pajama pants and a loose fitting shirt, glasses no longer on his face. Oh wow. You weren’t sure why, but he looked so good in his sleep attire. The way his shirt bunched up on one side where it met his pants. You could just barely see a sliver of his lower abdomen when he stretched. His face was tired, eyes narrowed a bit without his glasses. Your ears start to heat up.
Bokuto takes his shirt off, throwing it at your face, which snaps you from your thoughts. Luckily for you, you were already in your lounge wear, so you didn’t need to change. You take a pillow from Akaashi and pick a spot on the couch. Bokuto, no longer scared and just happy to be having a sleepover with his two best friends, gets comfortable. Akaashi throws a pillow down beside you, claiming his spot.
As you lay down, you feel an arm wrap around you. Your ears start to heat up again. The image of Akaashi’s tired eyes and lazy stance came back to you. Sure, you cuddled your friends all the time, but you just couldn’t shake how cute he looked. No. He is your friend. Has been since high school. There is absolutely nothing there. Except his arm, which was now pulling you closer to his chest. Shit.
