Here's some personal hc's about Jon within the MGS verse:

Jonathan had heard about the outer heaven uprising in 1995 as did the Zanzibarland takeover through normal news channels but was nothing more than a bystander- and outsider to what was going on behind the scenes as he continued his policenaut training.

Beyond Coast was never fully completed during its construction in 2005 (Partially due to budget cuts and money being ultimately diverted to military projects from then president George Sear's administration) resulting in Jon's talents as a policenaut never being realized therefore he was never plunged into the darks depths of space by 2010.

By 2009 He would continue his career in law enforcement and would eventually find himself working as a private investigator.

His wife Lorraine went missing due to mysterious circumstances. Jon is actively investigating her whereabouts.

What inspires you to write your character?

This feels like a very generic answer but what inspires me to write Jonathan is mostly a combination of movies (And clips), stuff I've read when I am not online, games, music, and even seeing other people's interactions through tumblr. I feel as though I am at my best when I am translating those things I've seen and read into my own interpretation with Jon.

Putting my foot out there again to meet someone has been a little rough but if my previous relationship has taught me anything valuable is that having any sort of relationship is a privilege and one that should be cherished because at any moment - at any given time it can end, even abruptly and I think thats something so endearing and is also one that is taken for granted sadly.
