this is an independent and selective roleplaying blog for SOLID SNAKE from the  metal gear series for the msx(2). as this is a sideblog, follows / asks / etc. will come from @ciircumserpent. this blog reinterprets the pixel-era games with solid snake as a trans woman. if you're looking for 'canon' / solid-era snake, please see my main blog.

ii. this blog is low activity - i am a student and i work.

iii. this blog is heavily historically-based while incorporating metal gear’s edited history; however, i’m not interested in roleplaying bigotry ( racism, sexism, etc. ) so it probably won’t crop up here.

iv. i prefer para over all other methods of roleplay, but if you want to use script, that’s fine.

v. you do not need to format to roleplay with me. i use small text - tell me if you’re having trouble reading what i’m writing so I can bump the size back up for you.

vi. in-character drama is welcome in moderation; ooc drama is not. i do not reblog callout posts. if you feel my interacting with someone is putting myself or others in danger, please bring some form of proof when you approach me.

vii. i am always open to interacting with more than one of the same character, and ocs. i enjoy crossovers. if you’re a multimuse blog, when interacting with my posts please also specify muse.

viii. the mun uses he / him pronouns but is not a man; you can call me samuel. i’m autistic. i don’t really mask on this blog. direct communication is best with me. i am very forward with my opinions.

a mermaid! in part for trans reasons, in part for clone reasons. i think she resonates with the hca fairytale -- feeling out of place, wanting to change your body, wanting to be perceived differently, and carrying a pain that you're not built to express. snake being unable to really cry is an essential headcanon to me. they built a weapon, not a person, but in nearly every other way, she's just a normal human; so all that emotion builds up inside her with no release. it applies more generally with snake being a withdrawn person. not only is she autistic, and therefore struggles to express herself, but she's a soldier, a black ops agent, and she fears how her emotions impact others -- she basically has a million reasons not to show how she feels. the way it's written out in the little mermaid made her feel seen. there's definitely a base longing in her to magically change into something more 'human', or rather, genuine.

When the sisters rose, arm-in-arm, through the water in this way, their youngest sister would stand quite alone, looking after them, ready to cry -- but mermaids have no tears, and so they suffer all the more.

George laughs. Not because anything is particularly funny, but because he feels ridiculous - like he's gotten so close, so close to the end of his leash, and his only recourse is still limited to barking at the fence.

It is ridiculous.

He's her brother, and the youngest man ever to take office all at once. Sometimes it's obvious that there's something downright irrepressible still bubbling up inside him --- and desperate.

"We're talking civil rights, democracy - look around you and imagine it replaced with a sanitized version of reality by people who decided you were too unpredictable to know anything about war, civil unrest - slavery.

Do you think the society they create will be one that knows Big Boss was the closest the world has ever come to all-out nuclear war?"

The look she gives him is difficult to parse. At rest, Snake always seems mildly annoyed, but he would know better than anybody that she was just drawn that way. Their eyebrows were made to furrow, their mouths were built to frown. It's him, his coding, dragging everything down. His nuclear rot inside of them, eating their blood and bones, as if his resentment towards their existence has manifested in wrinkles and achy backs and cancer. She wonders if George hates him, or if he's as confused as she is about it all.

"No such thing," she says at length. Even her seclusion in Alaska hadn't been apolitical, much as she'd wanted it to be. There had been a time when she'd been so interested in all of this... now she has to work to stimulate that part of herself, like her fundamental curiosity towards the world has atrophied and needs to be dragged onto the treadmill. You still care, she tells herself furiously, and even in her mind the words are forced. Fuck recovery, for being so damn difficult. Fuck it, and fuck America, too.

She lights up. She needs this. There's no smoking in the White House -- it tars up the ceilings and furniture -- but what are they going to do, kick her out mid-conversation with the president? No. She waits until the smoke fills her lungs, then exhales hard and presses her knuckles to her forehead. "What the Hell are you talking to me for? You need a sounding board for your twelve-step plan to fix the country? Don't you have people for that?"

"Fuck off--!" Trigger discipline prevents her from firing, but her pistol does swing up to track his head as he drops from the ceiling. Her heart sags against her ribs, and she presses a hand to her forehead. "Don't do that." George's entourage is so fucking weird. It reminds her of someone. "You know I could've shot you, right?"

He watches her, impassive, waiting for the blast that doesn't come. He's been on the receiving end of dagger eyes before. Every time he wonders when they'll take the bait. He wonders when they'll strike, thinking he's bound to fall and collapse in on himself at their display of aggression. She doesn't. He's glad for that. Hal's never been able to trust or forgive the ones that do bite.

"Everyone says that," he answers with a shrug. Have it your way then. It's not pity. It's not judgment. He's just holding out a hand, and giving her a warning that she's not as subtle as she thinks. "Did you forget? Someone needs to keep an eye out for you guys. Even if it's not me, you should talk to someone." He shifts his glasses up his nose and steps back. "You know where to find me if you need a partner."

She knows Emmerich is no wilting flower. She also knows that she could fold him like origami and then some, even if he did fight back. More than anything, she knows she doesn't want to ruin what they have, no matter what the alcohol says to the contrary. She can keep it together. She can keep him. She wants to keep him.

"Talk to someone about what? Whiskey preferences? I'd call Miller." She tugs her shirt back on over her vest top, buttoning it up with practised movements. The shakes haven't gotten to her yet, and she could do this in her sleep. Big Boss had loved to drag her outside at the crack of dawn to train, and he had expected her to be in uniform; but if he'd found her sleeping in it, he'd thrashed her. There were sleeping clothes and there were field clothes, and so long as she was in FOXHOUND base, she'd mind the difference. On a mission, she could do whatever she wanted.

He'd forced her to shower, too. She's lapsed in that department. Her hair is greasy. She doesn't reek, but she smells stale. She doesn't like getting into the shower stall anymore, knowing what half the soldiers here think of her. It's asking to be jumped.
