It really says something that a lot of monogamous people consider polyamorous and aromantic to be "opposites" but every polyam person I know took one look at aromantics and said "they're just like me for real"
Poly folks x aro folks in the sense that "alloromantic heterosexual monogamous people view love and sex as an entirely different entity than me, and that makes life kinda strange"
official aro-polyam solidarity post
Mightâve already reblogged this but it needs to be said again
Brick? What brick?
One off Superman story where Clark Kent gets classically abducted by aliens in the farm so said aliens can find out more information about human biology and Clark's just like *sucks in air through his teeth* so about that....
Tags @inamindfarfaraway
ID: Clark after telling the truth: well this is awkwardâŚ. I am so sorry to disappoint youâ WAIT! What would you do with a real human? Alien: oh just run some scans. With our technology it would be non-invasive and completely painless. Maybe mildly uncomfortable at most. Clark: how long would it take? Alien: depends on resistance and what we find but probably no longer than a few earth hours. Clark: okay. I know a human you can study.
*cut to Lex Luthor about to attend a very important time-sensitive deal he cannot afford to miss*
The next day he doesnât have the deal and is making himself look crazy and paranoid-slash-blatantly slanderous saying Superman sent aliens to abduct him when thereâs absolutely no proof of that and Superman was all over the news helping with an earthquake the whole time. Heâs quickly becoming a meme. Lois canât see his strategy and wonders if heâs finally snapped. Clark has some new alien friends. End ID.

its ok theyre Gods lil helpers
And boy are they clumsy
Hi, these bees are babies! Theyâre not clumsy at all, this is what is called orientation flights. After birth and before beginning their careers as foragers (as all Honey bees cycle through all the jobs in the Hive throughout their lifespan), Honey bees take short flights back and forth, to and from the Hive, to orient themselves with their wings and their home so they can learn its location and how to get back home after foraging! Everyone has to learn, these are just smol little baby turkeys. Bees use the angle of the sun for location so adults have a better and more direct sense of location than any human
IM SO PLEASED TO LEARN THIS!!!
They are just!!! Student drivers!!! đ

graffiti discourse is so stupid why the hell would I give a shit if people spraypaint their names or do some cool paintings under a bridge
sorry didn't realize the bridge has to be plain beige concrete. that was a load bearing plain beige concrete if anyone tags it the whole bridge collapses
Graffiti is modern day cave painting
People love to defend TMA/TME as a meaningful category by comparing it to BIPOC, which on the surface makes sense. BIPOC and TMA are both used to categorize minority groups that are at incredible risk of violence, and BIPOC in particular is widely accepted among any activist less racist than like. Ben Shapiro.
The only problem is the TME part. Because nonBIPOC isn't really a thing, is it? Because while black and indigenous people are grouped together by their at-risk status, no such commonality exists between everyone who isn't black or indigenous.
White people and arab people have the shared experience of not being black or indigenous, but not much else. There's no common interest or large-scale similarity that binds white people with arab people, or latino people, or any other racial minority. At best, any attempt to pretend they're one and the same is dumb as bricks, and at worst is a transparent attempt to paint a racial minority you don't like as being part of the oppressor class, and thus an acceptable target to punch "up" at.
But no, obviously TME is a very important term that definitely describes a coherent group of people. And also, that person posting about how nonBIPOCs are all illegal immigrants and terrorists and should all be killed is just complaining about their oppressors! They're literally punching up, or do you think white people are oppressed or something?
âWould you block someone just for disagreeing with you?â Pal, Iâll block someone for agreeing with me in the wrong tone of voice.
Okay, so, more personal junk, cause tbh I just need the transandrophobes to understand. Yall know you're driving away other transfems too, right?
Like, I avoid transfem spaces over this, because yall fucking hurt my community, and I don't want to share a space with people that would do that.
I don't trust people that would stab other members of our community in the back. I can't.
If any transfem transandrophobes read this, you wanna know why transfem spaces are losing members? Look in the mirror, it's because of you, because we won't share space with hate.
Yall hurt our transmasc and nonbinary siblings way more than you hurt me, cause I can go to them to find community, and they can't seem to escape you; but you don't seem to care about that, so here we are. By hurting them, you hurt us too.
It pisses me off, but it's also just fucking humiliating, it's humiliating to see the depths that people just like me fucking sink to. Worse still, I know there was a time in my life where I'd have fallen for it, and I'm so fucking glad yall didn't reach me when I was that person, because it would have genuinely ruined me.
So just think about that, the next time you feel like bashing a transmasc person for no other reason but to take out your petty malice; you're destroying your own community in the process. Hate will eventually eat you alive.
Yes yes i know love is love. But they are still killing CHILDREN. over this.
Edit: muted this post, simply bc im sick of the transphobes and homophobes in the comments, and they're pissing me off â¤ď¸
I often see posts about curating your own online experience that make the point, âcontent creators arenât your parents.â And, yes, that is absolutely true! And I try not to be like âas a parent,â but as a parentâŚ
EVEN PARENTS ARE SUPPOSED TO ENCOURAGE RESPONSIBLE READING/VIEWING BEHAVIOR. NOT filter everything ahead of time for their kid.
When my kiddo was 5, his pediatrician was asking him the usual Well Child Visit questions (âWhat are your favorite foods? What do you do to get your body moving? Do you know what to do if you get lost in a public place?â Etc.) and she asked, âWhat do you do if you see something on TV that scares or upsets you?â
I piped up like, âOh, he doesnât watch TV without one of us in the room,â which was true at the time and is still largely true now. She said, âYes, but that wonât always be the case, so make sure youâre talking to him about what to do if he sees something that upsets him.â
So we started talking to him about that, and the answer is simple: âTurn it off or leave the room, and talk to someone you trust about what you saw and what youâre feeling.â
The answer is NOT âAsk your parents to make sure you never see anything upsetting again,â because thatâs just not possible â and ultimately that would be doing the kid a disservice, since sooner or later heâs going to be out in the world where we canât control what he watches or reads. That doesnât mean we donât try to make sure heâs watching/reading age-appropriate stuff, it just means thatâs not the only safeguard he has â and thatâs a good thing.
So yes, content creators arenât your parents and arenât responsible for making sure you never see anything you donât like â but also, your own parents should have taught you what to do when that happens. So if they didnât, take it from me, your internet mom:
Turn it off.
Walk away.
Talk to someone you trust about how youâre feeling.
And leave the person who created the thing that upset you alone.
