I got a little excited after putting all the pieces of Sylvanas together to get a good idea on my current progress. This is probably my largest cosplay project to date.. I’m really happy to see my work actually starting to become a thing. All that’s left to make are the shin guards, gloves and corset. The corset is the one piece that’s stressing me out the most and I’ve never made before. I’m trying to add making tutorial videos in to my repertoire, so here is my first attempt at a time lapse. I am making the gauntlets for my #sylvanascosplay. I’m using 4mm EVA foam and barge contact cement. The second picture is the finished base gauntlets. They still need their details and trim. “Dark Lady watch over me” Some horrible sketching and brainstorming notes. Trying to figure out how I’m going to make her corset and attach some of the armor pieces. The last time I made thigh pieces they kept falling, gotta make sure that doesn’t happen again. This costume is becoming the most challenging costume I’ve made to date. To be honest I’m really looking forward to this challenge. Here are some #wip photos of how I distressed my #sylvanaswindrunnercosplay cape. I used #yayahanpatterns M7645. I sketched out a base template for cutting and ripping the fabric, then I added more/longer cuts and rips. I sanded the edges to toughen them up a bit to make it look less intentional. Spent the last couple of days making my cape for #sylvanaswindrunnercosplay. I'm using @yayahans pattern from @cosplaymccalls #m7645. I made a few alterations with the hood/capelet. It's still a wip as I have to get the snaps and means to attach the chainmail to hood and I haven't distressed the bottom of the cape yet. Here are some of my favorite shots from my #mermaid photoshoot I did with @heidimarie_photography. Putting on that tail made me so happy, I could have sat at the beach like this for hours. This photoshoot (and tail) were a little girls dream come true!! 💜❤️ My favorite part of the whole day (besides the obvious) was I had the mother of 2 little girls come up to me and ask if her daughters (who were hiding behind grandma) could take a picture with me. Went fabric shopping for #sylvanaswindrunner today. I got a lot more fabric that I needed but at least now I have spare just in case. And in true fashion, as soon as I put the fabric out, Bruce was right there to break in the new fabric by laying all over it. And now that I have fabric, it is time to get sewing!! I have decided that my goal for #sdcc2018 is Sylvanas Windrunner. And my over reaching goal for 2018 is to complete my original concept Victorian- esque Style Assassins outfit. The thought of having to sew a corset kind of scares me...I seriously look at corsets that people have made and then look at the instructions and I am amazed because I am just so baffled by them. As much as I really don't want to have to buy a corset for Sylvanas, I just don't know if I have the skills to make her corset myself. But I will definitely give a good effort. So I surprised @hi.d_marie with tickets to see #Hamilton for her birthday today!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!! The choreography was on point!! The tech was flawless!! It was an amazing way to end a stressful weekend and I am extremely happy to have been able to experience it with this amazing person! #hamiltrash (at Hamilton: An American Musical)
