owenization:
School was finally reaching the end for him. All that was left of this stupid school was just one last year and he wouldn’t have to deal with stupid freshmen and general bullcrap. He was already completely checked out during classes and he just sorta floated through the halls. Though that was until something caught his eye.
A flock of freshman following a small freshman girl with blue hair. And instinctively he went after them.
The boys seemed familiar with her and were harassing the poor little thing. She tried to shield herself from their words by hiding her face in her arms and mumbled something he didn’t pick up on.
“Hey!” He barked at the boys, who reflexively flinched, “Get!”
He took one step towards them and they scattered like roaches, “Hey… you okay?”
Owen tried to take a nicer tone with the shy girl, hoping he wouldn’t scare her off.
Candace flinched, direly wishing that the entrance of a masculine but deeper voice had not been bearing of one joining their antagonizing; instead, the unfamiliar voice forced the cluster to split before her and scatter in the opposite direction. Her body endured a defensive stance, nervously cracking an eye open to see that the boys whom ganged up on her had disappeared -- out of sight, out of mind -- and were replaced by a taller and more robust character unknown to her. It didn’t matter, for her muscles remained tense as her relinquishment of her guard ceded, causing her to gradually lower to the ground in jagged motions.
To be honest, she hadn’t anticipated him to stick around -- yet here he was. Humiliated as is, the young girl abstained from raising her head to meet the eyes of her savior, and choked back tears in an attempt to respond graciously for his deed undeserving to her. “I--...” Candace stammered, pausing for a moment. “... I-I’m fine. T-Thank... you.”
