Single or in a relationship, Someone Great, is a Netflix-original film that you’re not going to want to miss. This romantic comedy starring Gina Rodriguez, Brittany Snow and DeWanda Wise is fast becoming an all-time favourite of many.

Why you should watch it…
First, I’ll give you a little low-down of the plot. Freshly broken up with her long-term boyfriend, a music journalist (Rodriguez) recruits her two besties (Snow and Wise) for one last outrageous adventure in New York City before she moves away to San Francisco to move on up in her career. Now we’ve got that covered, let’s move on to why you should watch it.
One word: relatable. No matter which situation you’ve been in, the dumpee, the dumper, the consoling best friend or the member of the group who is just crazy, there’ll be at least one of these characters who you can totally relate too. This film is definitely one to add to your #GirlfriendCollection because it’s like a breath of fresh air. Watching Someone Great is so refreshing because despite the twists and turns along the way there is always a positive… a silver lining.
Sometimes you have to be a little selfish and go after what you want in life. And, of course, that process is made a lot more difficult when you’re tied down in a relationship. Some people are fine with it, they are fine with compromising but by doing so, there’s the potential for those sacrifice-induced feelings to turn into resentment. Your 20’s and 30’s are for living wild and free.
Someone Great will become your new favourite because you’ll also fall in love with the cast. If you thought you recognised the main character, Gina Rodriguez, that’s because she’s the star in the telenovela Jane The Virgin. Which is also another amazing rom-com project and if you haven’t watched it, you really should.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the writer and director of this film is a genius. She’s handed us the perfect thing to watch for those evenings after a long day at work when all we’re after is cheering up and a belly full of laughter. Jennifer, you’re a star.
