Welcome to "Could They Destroy The Ring?"
The One Ring is bound to the life force of the Dark Lord Sauron. Cast the Ring into the fires of Mount Doom, where it was forged, and Sauron's reign of terror ends. But the Ring itself is cunning, twisting and tempting the bearer away from their mission at every turn.
This is where we decide which characters would make a capable Ringbearer. Could they carry this burden all the way to Mordor -- and if they did, could they find the strength of will to part with it?

Fictional characters only. No real people.

Characters can be sorted into four potential categories:
Could not make it to Mordor (for any number of reasons: incapable of withstanding the long, arduous journey, incapable of fighting off pursuers, falling to the temptation of the Ring too quickly, etc.)
Could make it to Mordor but could not destroy the Ring (i.e. capable of making the long journey but may fall to the temptation of the Ring near the finish line)
Could destroy the Ring
