I’m working on Neopets art inspired by Tattletail fan music, and this was the next logical step: draw your characters as baby tattletails and Mama Tattletail. Audrey my mutant (venus flytrap) as Mama Tattletail and my peach chia, Beverly and Marcus, my faerie meerca as baby tattletails.

Welp, back to drawing.

I finally finished this piece after a week and a half of going back and forth with lining and coloring this piece. I’m really happy with this, I guess I just really like dramatic lighting recently!

So I’ve decided to finally put this up on my Tumblr because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to put this in my professional portfolio or not, but because it’s Neopets related and I really don’t want people asking me what Marcus is, I opted to put it here. (More info about how I made it is below the cut!)

So this was done for a laser cutting project in my masters work, and I had just come off working on this, I still had imagery based around Talking To Myself I wanted to do. So when were allowed to make a freeform piece with the laser cutter, I took the opportunity to do a 3D illustration.

I was really inspired by what sounded like an organ in Talking To Myself’s bridge and just couldn’t get this image of a church like environment out of my mind, something like a confessional. 

Done in a week with plywood, acrylic, acrylic paint and cardstock/textured paper. Cut out using a laser cutter.

What’s a good way to humanize a chia? I have a plushie chia that I want to draw sort of like you do.

I’m super flattered to hear you like my anthro chias ; o ; So the trick I follow with making them anthro but still a chia is keeping their signature mouth shape and making sure the features of the color are entirely represented. For example, when I selected the peach color for Beverly, I gave her a round face type as opposed to a typical more oval or heart shape type of face I tend to give characters in addition to giving her peach features and her signature chia mouth. 

I made an example using Beverly to kind of show my thinking process. I hope that helps!
