Traversing Textiles is the second installation of femme☆phenomenon, a free digital anthology dedicated to the women characters in Hetalia World Stars. For International Women's day 2026, the zine followed the theme of "textiles," as the cultural clothing and textile arts of these ladies' cultures deserve a spotlight.

This zine contains 3 textile crafts, 4 fanfics, and 40 illustrations including the cover.

What I wish was talked about more was the every-day-ness of the wasteland. As you galavant around doing quests and stuff I wanna know more about the people. We get stuff already through notes and such but I like more of that stuff cuz it makes the world feel a bit more lived in.

Kinda connected to what I said above but: something that “irks” me and keeps me up at night is the scary familiarity of the west coast games + how that decays. This is probably because I grew up on the west coast but whenever I think about those games I get really existential sometimes. It’s a weird mix of “I can exactly feel how my protag is feeling right now standing out in the hot desert” and “oh my god everything is gone”. <— it’s not exactly like this but this is as close as I can get ( “oo).

Anyways the decay stuff really gets to me when I think about New Vegas in particular because canonically all your companions go their separate ways after the game ends. I know it’s for good reason and a lot of them I’d urge them to go but man does it break my heart sometimes (I am a found family trope enjoyer). I guess the feeling of “ah yes some great thing, but only for a moment in time and memory” thing really gets to me. A big splash of color before the sands of the wasteland wash over it.

Anyways yeah my little brain thoughts :))))
