FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION ⇝ SPRING 2027
Clerith Week // Day 1 (April 29th) - Holding Hands
let's just call it a dream. my dream, to be precise.
the two person system of david making clothes and then giving them to star who actually makes them look good because otherwise they’d all be wearing david’s black jacket #57
Reasons I Love Star
I've said this once, and I'll say it again- Star is a badass. Can you imagine the strength that this woman possesses??
It's pretty obvious she was turned against her will since she refuses to complete the transformation, but the fact that she is consistently being put through what we can see is an obviously toxic power imbalance with constant goading and growing temptation and the fact that she never cracked? Legendary. Michael could barely contain himself after what? A week? A few days? While we don't know how long Star has been a half, we never even see her vamp face because that's how much self control she has. LEGENDARY.
The pure sense of self that she has. This is shown through how morally strong she is and also through her wardrobe. Michael quickly adopts a leather jacket to fit in with the Lost Boys, but Star sticks out like a sore thumb among them even after being apart of their group because she refuses to conform (lmao) to their punk aesthetic and- YES
She is the only one who doesn't try to trick Michael. Sure, she flirts with him and it's stated that she was going to originally try to eat him, but Star is the only one of the vampires that is openly honest with Michael. She offers any information that she has, and not only tells him that the bottle has blood in it but that he's a half.
Her protecting Laddie makes me so soft like ik it was borderline misogynistic to pair her with a kid, but that scene where she goes "He's just a little boy!" Really shows how brave she is. These are two kids who have already killed Marko by this point, so they're at least semi-dangerous especially with stakes and holy water on them. Yet, she uses herself as a shield and purposely puts herself in harm's way. This shows a crap ton of bravery, but also what I would say is her defining trait- her compassion.
SHE initiated the first kiss in the movie and all I have to say is that's rare as hell in movies, especially ones from the 80s so I gotta give her props for taking the initiative
I could go on but basically- I love Star and she's actually a really great character so can we please give her more love
idk if i ever posted this but i couldn’t find it on my blog and i’ve been thinking about it like every day
The Lost Boys Aesthetics: Star
You’re not a full vampire until you’ve made your first kill. You were supposed to be mine… but I couldn’t, Michael.

JAMI GERTZ: I've always loved that scene because Star really puts herself in great peril to protect Michael. She is making her choice right there and then in front of everyone, which is difficult to do. She's turning her back on these guys that have protected her. I think the biggest window into Star's backstory is her relationship with Laddie, and the necessity to give a runaway child the protection she probably didn't get from her parents. Whatever happened to Star in her home life was not good, and she needed to get away. She needed shelter and protection, and sought that with this group of vampires. However, being the only woman in the group, Star never fully bought into their behaviour, and when Michael comes along that's where her moral compass really gets a jolt. David's relationship with Star was definitely about control. I don't think she ever knew love with David at all, but there was definitely a sense of security with him.
JOEL SCHUMACHER: I always felt that Kiefer played David as though Star was his property, and through David turning her into a vampire she became a victim. You can tell from the minute that you meet her that she's trying to let Michael know that she's trapped. When they first lock eyes with each other at the concert, there's almost a yearning from Star and she falls in love with Michael pretty quickly. I think it's evident that she has no affection for David, particularly in the scene where Michael and Star are about to leave the boardwalk and she ends up going with David. The look that he gives her, and her submission, is totally possessive. What I've always loved is that you think David is in charge, but really it's Max that's running the show. I mean, how did David become David? He had to have been turned by someone.
