100 E/riels vs the concept of liking two characters separately but not as a couple
Is what Rhysand did to Feyre UTM really worse that Tamlin almost killing her while he was in a relationship with her because he couldn't control his anger? (If she didn't have instinctual magic she could have died when he destroyed his office.)
And why do people hate on Nesta/Cassian/Rhysand/Mor/Feyre/...? Or pit them against each other? It is possible to like characters who do not get along in the story. That's called complex characters.
No, because both Tané and Loth being CANONICALLY on the ace spectrum is so special to me. Thank you Samatha Shannon, from the bottom of my heart.
Michael B. Jordan's TV adaptation of 'Fourth Wing' has been officially greenlit at Prime Video.
Rebecca Yarros, Lisa Joy, Michael B. Jordan and Meredith Averill at the Amazon Upfront Event
But can we have book 4 and 5 first, please?
I mean I am really looking forward to Acotar 6 but now that I have finished listening to the CC graphic audios I think I would rather know what's up with Perry, and Tharion and Sathia.
This was the first time I added blood in my art. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.
Things I love about Azriel that have nothing to do with ship wars that reveal his true character:
💙 He is well mannered and soft-spoken.
💙 He is observant and notices things about people that others overlook. I don't think it is simply because he is a spy but from genuine curiosity. Because of this, he is exceedingly thoughtful. Picking perfect gifts for everyone at Solstice. Discovering Elain's magic abilities. Sensing when other people are uncomfortable and offers a distraction.
💙 He is encouraging and supportive of others throughout the series. He helps Feyre learn to fly despite how vulnerable it made him. He helps Cassian train the priestesses despite being incredibly busy. He never says a bad word about Nesta even when she tries to provoke it. He offers Elain his made blade during a battle, so she has some form of protection.
💙 He fights for what he believes in and is willing to go against orders. He attacks Eris at the High Lords meeting against orders. He tells Rhys he'd fly with a tree chained to his back because he was going to fight in the battle. He is unwilling to spy on Lucien. Unwilling to invade Elain's privacy. Has a loose interpretation of being a chaperone to Cassian and Nesta.
💙 He is competitive. He taunts the Valkyries over the ribbon. He teases Cassian that he doesn't need to resort to poetry when charming females. He puts rocks in the snowballs to get back at Rhys.
💙 He is nurturing. He holds Nesta after she uses the mask in HOFAS, he was frightened for her and provided comfort. He gently tended to Feyre's wounded hands pulling out splinters. He attends the solstice celebration despite his own discomfort around Lucien because he knows it's important to Rhys.
If it turns out to be Gwynriel (fingers crossed) please let Gwyn figure out they're mates first.
I just finished Primal of Blood and Bone and I'm nit ok with this. Like it's never been the best series quality wise but she could have at least made the content enjoyable. But no, she has to kill off my second favourite wolven. Well, at least Attes is still alive.
Lord of the rings from Saurons perspective is a fucking fever dream because he started by reforming his essence into some physical form in mirkwood and before he even has enough strength to feel that the ring was even in the same forest as him he gets chased off by a group of wizards and elves looking to fuck some shit up. There goes his plan to get a dragon on his side
So he holds up in mordor gathering a new army, and only after about a century is he strong enough to do cool magic shit again, by that time however the ring hadnt been used in decades so there were no whispers of it except oops we found this weird little fucker who keeps yelling about his fucking precious, better go check out “shire baggins” whatever the fuck that is
So he finds out a fucking hobbit has his ring which in middle earth terms is like finding out mr magoo has your fucking nuclear launch codes. So he starts sending wave after wave of his own men to get the ring and they keep failing cause this fucking hobbit has friends. He has his homie saruman send some uruk-hai to get them and then sends some goblins to make sure everything goes right but for no apparent reason they stop reporting in, (something about horses and trees?) so he sends a guy to ask saruman straight out wheres my fucking ring and saruman straight up lies about it. Next thing he hears saruman has launched an all our invasion of rohan with 10000 uruk-hai so rip the bronies right? Nope the next day his army is defeated and saruman has fucking vanished.
Confused as fuck now sauron gets a fucking phone call from a god damn hobbit (ITS YOU!) but all he gets out of the little sovereign citizen is some shit about “i do not answer questions” and next thing he hears the hobbit has gone to fucking gondor. Alright send fucking everything we got, take gondor do whatever it takes get my fucking ring back. And what does he have to worry about right? After all even if rohan helps he’ll still win. Wtf is that an army of ghosts???!?!?!?
So then hes sitting there with his diminished army trying to figure out his next plan of attack and he gets another fucking phone call from the god damn great grandson of the prick who cut off his ring in the first place. “Oi cunt i got ur ring and im gonna fuc u up m8!” *click*
Goody he thinks, this arrogant sob is gonna bring my ring right to me, time to throw everything i got at this bastard. So then the fight starts hes super excited cause hes clearly winning and OH DEAR GOD MY RING IS IN THE VOLCANO HOW THE FU- *dies*
Now hes a weird ghost thing that cant ever do anything but lament how big a prick he is
Tolkien was ahead of his time
what if we admitted to each other that it's not always really romance that we want. What if we admitted that what we're really craving is intimacy and society taught us romance is the only way to get it.
My #1 ship in the entire SJM universe?
Elide Lochan & Lorcan Salvaterre.
Elide—the girl from Perranth, with the broken shackle, the quiet wisdom, the heart of glass. No fireworks, no prophecy—just tenacity, strategy, and unfathomable courage.
And then Lorcan—our favorite grim demi-fae. Centuries old, burdened with guilt, shaped by war, loyal to the point of self-destruction. A man who has learned that intimacy hurts—and control is safer.
Two survivors. Two completely different kinds of strength. And together? They will be the best-written, most honest couple in the entire SJM cosmos.
Why Elide & Lorcan Are the Strongest Couple in the SJM Universe
There are many grand, fateful, sparkling love stories in the SJM cosmos—but Elide Lochan and Lorcan Salvaterre operate differently. More calmly. More honestly. More profoundly. And that's precisely why they feel like the healthiest, most logical, and most emotionally resonant couple in the series.
1. Elide: Strength Without Fireworks
Elide isn't a typical fantasy heroine. No flames, no godlike power, no Destiny-esque glitter. She survives through:
• Intelligence
• Patience
• Strategy
• Quiet resilience
Her trauma isn't romanticized. Her disability isn't "magically removed." She remains vulnerable—and yet crucial. Elide isn't a sidekick. She's a moral anchor. She's the character who holds everything together. Almost like Samwise Gamgee: small in stature, monumental in impact.
2. Lorcan: Not a “bad boy,” but a tragic product
Lorcan is not a romanticized killer. He is:
• brutalized by centuries of war
• shaped by obedience, guilt, and loneliness
• incapable of allowing intimacy without controlling it
Maeve didn't make him a monster, but a tool. And tools don't ask questions. His mistakes—especially calling for Maeve—aren't misunderstandings, but the logical consequence of his worldview. And that's precisely what makes his subsequent transformation believable.
3. The crucial point: He does NOT change “for” her
This is the crux of the matter. Many stories tell of. He changes FOR her. He becomes better so that she will love him. That sounds romantic—but it's just a facade. Something different happens with Lorcan:
He changes THROUGH her.
Elide is not a project or a cure. She is a catalyst. Her presence, her boundaries, her clarity force him to question his worldview:
• Responsibility instead of blind loyalty
• Intimacy without possession
• Love without power games
She doesn't say, "Be better for me." She says, "You hurt me. Bear it." And he understands: His old system protects no one—not even himself.
4. Forgiveness isn't magic—it's work
Between them exists:
• Real conflict
• Honest anger
• Justified distance
Elide doesn't forgive immediately. Lorcan doesn't just apologize—he acts differently. Love isn't a reset button here. Love is a mirror. And sometimes that mirror hurts.
5. Two ways of surviving—that complement each other
They are opposites—but not in a cliché way. Elide: Cunning, patience, heart, moral clarity. Lorcan: Strength, experience, hunger for belonging. They don't save each other. They balance each other. The scene at the dam says it all: Not "I'll die for you" — but "We're alive. Together. And you're not running away."
6. Why they feel more realistic than many other couples
Many SJM relationships are based on: Destiny. Mate bond. Cosmic magic. Elide & Lorcan, on the other hand, are based on:
• Choice
• Consequence
• Responsibility
• Slow, conscious development
No fairy tale. No promise of salvation. But two broken people learning to become visible, authentic, and reliable.
And that's precisely what makes them — at least for me — the best-written couple in the entire SJM universe Not because they're perfect. But because they mature — together, side by side, step by step. Because change here isn't performed, it's earned.
Azriel Appreciation Week: Belonging
Rhys said to Azriel, "If I had not met a shadowsinger, I would not have known that it is the family you make, not the one you are born into, that matters. I would not have known what it is to truly hope, even when the world tells you to despair.” -ACOWAR Chapter 69
For this piece, we really wanted to capture a young Azriel finally finding a place where he belongs. A mother figure to love him as her own, brothers who tease him lovingly not cruelly, a family he chose for himself, and a place to call home. One of the sweetest parts of this piece is the quiet joy and tenderness in Azriel's expression as he looks on his found family.
We can not thank aurithemoon enough for bringing this piece to life for us. She captured everything that we were envisioning in a way only she can. It is such a pleasure and honor to work with someone so talented, so accomplished, and so kind 💙

“Let him live with his Band of Exiles. Let him deal with Tamlin in his own way. Let him figure out where he wants to be. Who he wants to be. The same goes with her.”
She was right.
Mor continued, “Just be patient. It’ll sort itself out. It always does.”
Here’s to another year of Elain and Lucien being mates! 🥰

For one part of the fandom to be happy, the other part will have to cry: Elriel, Elucien, Gwynriel.
Luckily, I'm on the team that only cares about them being happy, even if that means no couple forms/happens.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to the daddiest in all of prythian 💜
