ZADR where Dib is injured and put into stasis to recover by Membrane. He wakes up and it's been like, 70 years. Gaz is still alive, but Membrane passed away a long time ago. At first, it seems as if Zim's mission was successful and the earth is now a fascist hellscape dominated by Irken technology. But it turns out Dib being gone made Zim realize how important he was to him, so he never conquered earth. Instead, evil billionaire oligarchs took control of everything and caused catastrophic damage to the planet with pollution and shoddy technology that constantly explodes. Zim tried to stop them because he wanted the world Dib awoke to to be just as it was when he was first put in stasis. This ended up getting him captured and confined to a research lab where his PAK and other Irken tech were studied and reverse-engineered to make weapons and tools of surveillance and control. Earth is now dangerously close to becoming effectively indistinguishable from Irk, with the two chief idiots in charge of everything pushing the population to adopt their knock-off PAKs and cloning technology to deal with all the illness, disability, and infertility caused by their pollution.

Dib sets out to free Zim, who has endured the torments of being a lab rat all this time in the hope of seeing Dib wake up someday
