Making prey drive seem valid compared to other drives

Hypervisibility of quadrobics, gear and outings

Watering down the community to appeal to antis (and invalidating people in the process)

PAST LIVES. OH MY DAYS, THE PAST LIVES BS. (yes, past lives as a nonhuman are fine, just the idea that its the only "cause")

"Its not a mental illness, its a spiritual belief!" even though causes of nonhuman beliefs don't invalidate the experience

The biggest alterhuman YouTuber (Therian Territory) being essentially a factory for misinformation and invalidation of others' experiences

And that's barely surface level.

This is pretty much a PSA to any nonhuman blogs on here that if you have any other social media accounts, please don't hesitate to spread more information about it

Quick update on the therian study:

We’re approaching 100 responses already, which is honestly incredible; thank you to everyone who’s taken part so far. This kind of response makes a huge difference in being able to actually identify patterns in the data.

A couple of clarifications based on questions I’ve been asked:

1. Who can participate?

Yes, otherkin, fictionkin, and those who feel they relate to therian experiences are absolutely welcome to take part. The aim is to understand a broader range of lived experiences, not to exclude people based on labels. Question four explicitly asks if you are a therian and gives an option for those who aren’t but relate to therian experiences.

2. Participation and age / consent

If you are under 18, please make sure you have permission from a parent or guardian before taking part.

I’m not able to verify individual consent, and laws around this vary depending on country, so it’s important that you follow the rules that apply where you live.

The survey is anonymous and you can skip any questions, but please only participate if you are able to do so appropriately.

Once again, thank you all. The level of engagement so far has been genuinely impressive.

Therian Study Stage One

While these are early days the survey is already pulling some interesting results!

So far over 80% of respondents have been above the age of 18. This is particularly interesting due to the perception that the majority of therians are children. While there hasn’t been currently enough responses to tell if this is significant at this point it does point to a conclusion that the age demographic of the therian community may have a different spread as to what is commonly thought.

Another interesting statistic that is being pulled is that over half of the respondents have said they discovered their identity prior to the age of 13 and have held this identity for between 11 and 15 years. This again is interesting as it is commonly assumed that therian identity is a short lived phase that children grow out of.

It will be very interesting to see how these pieces of data grow as more respond to the survey.

As a physical therian WITHOUT delusions, yeah all of this. Also arguably ballet is worse for the body than quadrobics. I don’t personally do quads due to my disability however I did do ballet when I was younger and I have had it confirmed by medical professionals that if I hadn’t done ballet I probably wouldn’t need daily high doses of multiple medications just to walk with minimal pain

its not and never has been something you need in order to truly identify as a therian

it makes me so annoyed that people only think of therians as walking on all fours

if you do quads cool!! but its not inherently a therian thing

plus plenty of non therians do quads
