their older brother's former bully keeps showing up. chance encounters turn into ones that seem like they've been planned. the spark is immediate, and they kind of think their brother is annoying anyway. maybe they get overshadowed, maybe they're the youngest in a big family and the former bully in an only child. it's kind of fun when it has to be a secret, both of them showing things the other hasn't seen before.

“heeey, it’s chill, i come in peace,” ricky says with his palms out in early surrender. from his left hand hangs a rag, pilfered from the reception hall’s kitchen. he eyes the growing stain on her dress warily, then holds the rag out like a consolation prize. “my aunt gets a little too excited at stuff like this. i’d say i got lucky that you took the blow over me, buuut you’re probably not in the mood for jokes about it yet, so … let me know if that changes.” in the other room, a wedding reception carries on in full swing. somewhere in there, ricky’s sister sweeps around the room in a white gown shaped like a cupcake. out here, ricky kneels to try and dab the punch stain out. he scoffs, rolls his eyes upward until they meet hers, and chances a grin. “weddings are awful, aren’t they? i thought i was going to die of old age during the vows.”

qianyu took the rag out, grateful that at least someone found something to help with her situation. she couldn't believe she had found herself in this situation, she didn't even know him that well but she had stepped in the way and ruined her dress. at least it wasn't a very expensive dress. she giggled at his comment, nodding her head. "they're only good for the people getting married, everyone else has to suffer through it." she sat on the floor with a sigh, rubbing at the stain before ultimately giving up. "at least this one will be remembered for the day I got a huge stain on my dress and embarrassed myself." she said with a shrug and a chuckle. "thanks for the help though, even if it's no use."

kennedy grins. she always feels more like herself at the lake house. maybe it was the sun or the water or the fresh air? she nods her head in agreement, the sun beating down on the two of them. "on three," kennedy agrees, grabbing the other's hand. "one...two...three!" kennedy all but yelled the last number before jumping off the dock into the water.

minjoo held tightly onto kennedy's hand before jumping off the dock on three, crashing into the water. she released the other's hand before popping up above the water with a gasp, and a laugh when kennedy finally popped up too. "oh god this water feels amazing, this trip was just what I needed." she said, playfully splashing the other. she ran a hand over her damp hair before letting out a sigh and floating onto her back. "I wish I could live here year round, I bet even in the winter it feels amazing."
