CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNERS WEI WUXIAN AND WEN QING OF THE CQL HUNGER GAMES!!!

In a spectacular act of mercy, over half of you voted for World Peace and to airlift out Wei Wuxian and Wen Qing from the Games. Whether they would have raced to sacrifice themselves for the other first or gotten into an epic smackdown (which Wen Qing, with a gun courtesy of @stupid-dyke, was favored to have won) shall be forever a mystery, but nonetheless, the true winner of the CQL Hunger Games is mlm/wlw solidarity!

Given that everyone else has died, we at least have the king of the necromancers Yiling Laozu and the best damn doctor in all of the jianghu, so a happy ending may yet be in the cards, even if being resurrected as a fierce corpse does make Lan Qiren and Sect Leader Yao wish they were dead all over again.

Thank you so much to everyone for an amazing tournament, for cheering for your faves, spreading propaganda in the tags, and putting Jiang Cheng through a new kind of misery. He (and I!) will never forget it. :))

Hey all! Thank you so much again for a great tournament. Just wanted to drop here before I go that my main blog is @enbymoomin. I'm a multifandom blog and typically post my fixation of the month, but I always tend to come back around to posting Black Sails, Kinnporsche, The Untamed, and Word of Honor. Thank you all for this community these past two weeks, and always feel free to drop an ask or send a message. :))

Oooh, honestly, they're not all that good or that much different from what I ended up posting because I literally just reworked my Wangxian finals posts for WQ & WWX, but originally I was 100% expecting a showdown between WWX & LWJ or WWX & JGY.

In a Wangxian final, there was always going to be an airlift option because come on. It's Katniss and Peeta. So the poll would have looked just like this and I had to scramble to rework it for WQ since I was always personally rooting for a world peace ending. :))

HOWEVER, if JGY had made it through the semis, then I would have absolutely set up the finals for blood with no third option. Which is kind of ironic given that I would consider both JGY and WQ to be some of my favorite characters, even above Wangxian, but sometimes the drama of recreating the final battle as the climax of the tournament ranks higher than any fondness for my blorbos.

I just wanted to say that when I realized in the last hour that Wen Qing could win, I went running to my friends’ discord and begged for votes for her. It only netted her an additional 5 and she won by 7, so I cannot take full credit for that final push over, but I nonetheless feel like a sponsor sending their favorite tribute a vital tool at the last minute. Sorry for the upset, but that win made my whole day.

Damn, anon, congrats! I love hearing these kinds of stories, and I still have yet to double check but I feel pretty certain that WQ vs LWJ was THE closest match of the entire tournament. Although I was personally rooting for Wangxian finale, that kind of excitement around a poll just makes my day 😁😁

I just realized that Wen Qing and Jiang Cheng were matched up AFTER Wen Qing killed Jin Ling. I feel like if anything could make him kill her, that would be it.

I've gone through the stages of grief and decided it's okay lwj didn't make it because now wwx and wq will team up to bring their loved ones back to life and take down this blog I mean the bad guys. Fierce corpse lwj supremacy

should've declared the airlift option as an "if it's a 50/50". it feels so anticlimactic like this!!

Sorry you feel that way, man! I was actually 100% anticipating a WWX vs LWJ showdown a la Katniss & Peeta at the end, so I built in the airlift option while prepping the poll just in case and then had to rework on the fly when WQ turned out to be the winner in 5.5 :))
